[Kieser] GM Barry Trotz on why he’s yet to make a coaching change. “I believe our coaches have done a really good job. Our record may not show it but they’re coaching their butt off.” Trotz adds that no one has wanted to waive their NMC to this point.

  1. To quote a player from another Nashville sports team: “if we keepin’ it a buck right now, we ass.”

Said team made a coaching change and is still very much indeed ass.

SO I’m honestly alright with staying ass right now with Bruno because ain’t nothing changing this season anyway

  2. Trade the vets without the NMC and if the big names don’t do shit, give them less TOI and put em on the third line. At least the young guys will be fun to watch.

  3. Okay so if we stick with Andrew Brunette. Which players do you think we should trade?and what do you think is a reasonable trade?

Marchassault (if waived no move clause)
    Syamkos (same)
    Haula?
    Bunting?
    Skjei
    Hague?
    Mccarron?
    Jost?

    Svechov?
    Vange?
    Wilsby?

  4. Brunette would be fine with a young rebuilding team. Sure whatever. Just get everybody 30+ out of here immediately they all clearly hate playing for him.

Being a Sharks type team for the next several years with young guys and fix and flip project players would be so fun to watch to be honest. Better than this.

  5. I would like to send a large thank you to Trotz for this roster.I’m still in the camp that scapegoat firing Bruno isn’t the answer.

  6. Let’s just look at the 2 games in Sweden.

GM1 the Preds barely won that game.

GM2, Bruno runs exact same lineup out because, hey we won! Muse makes lineup adjustments and smoke the Preds.

Maybe Bruno didn’t have an ass to coach off to begin with.

  7. This is the biggest danger to Trotz’s future as a GM. That he gets held back by his coaching experience and empathy for coaches rather than uses his experience as an asset. This could absolutely backfire. His situation with the Preds and being given a long leash by Poile is a lot different than the state of the franchise now. The NHL goes through coach’s faster than any other league and it’s amazing just how bad the outcome for Bruno has been compared to how Trotz evaluates him. He’d be gone at almost any other franchise.

I think a mid coaching fire doesn’t do much unless it sparks the team and provides some hope in the talent and among the players. Otherwise I’m okay waiting until the offseason. But the system is terrible and the team’s performance is god awful, and they are playing below the talent level. If it’s still like this at the end of the year I’ll be pissed if Bruno is retained.

  8. What do people expect him to say?

Only a moron would undermine his guy before he’s ready to make a change.

  9. What a moronic statement. The ONLY measure of performance is wins v loses.
    That’s it. Nothing else matters.

  10. My expectation is that not much changes this season. It sounds crazy but I’m convinced.

Trotz isn’t making moves. He’s not firing anyone. He’s not trading any core. If you ask out and the trade works, you can go. But he’s not blowing it up.

He’s “building”.  I think he thinks he’s got the skeleton of a core and he wants some vets around when they show up. He’s not afraid to make the playoffs and he’s not afraid to get the 1OA. He’s playing out the next couple years but he’s not gonna tank.

This is what it is. I’m convinced.

  11. Yeah, we suck.

    And this ain’t the bottom.

Get used to it, you got 5-8 more years of this. Under the best of circumstances.

  12. Nobody fired him all those times other teams would have. He’s just paying it forward.
