Reports are saying Burrow may be ready potentially this Sunday or the next. I would understand the urgency to put burrow back in if we were in the playoff race, but we’re pretty much guaranteed out at 3-7.

  1. It doesn’t matter what we think, he’s gonna play. So might as well buckle up and enjoy seeing one of the best quarterbacks to play the game… while also simultaneously holding your breath every time he snaps the ball 😅

  2. I would need the advice of qualified medical professional familiar with his medical history, his specific injury and his recovery progress from surgery before making an opinion.

  3. If he’s healthy and wants play, let him play. Flacco has a bum shoulder and Jake Browning is just a bum.

  4. Why does everyone think they know better than the man’s doctor? Joe isn’t dumb. He will play when he’s ready, if that’s this Sunday, he’s ready.

  5. The fans can’t control what he wants to do- only he can do that. With, that said – I think it would be unwise from a health standpoint for him to return.

I know we’re not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet and sure it could be “fun“ to watch him play…this seems like a high risk-low reward outcome.

What if he gets hurt again?

  6. Let the man do whats he’s being paid a lot of money to do. If he’s healthy enough, is it fairness fans going toothed games not to play him?

  7. Our defense isn’t getting better any time soon even over the next few years, so might as well enjoy him if he’s healthy enough to play.

  8. If you had to take a leave of absence due to injury from your dream job – a job you’ve spent your whole life dreaming of having, and a job that you know you’ll only be able to do for a small percentage of your life – would you not go back to it as soon as you recovered because “meh we probably won’t win the Super Bowl this year so what’s the point?”

People who think like this are completely absurd to me. It’s like you guys have no concept of the fact that football players play because they enjoy it.

  9. I’ve never seen a fanbase be so upset their star QB is back too early lol. Says a lot about our collective psychosis haha.

  10. I can’t think of a single qb in the history of qbs that could take this 3-7 team/practice squad of a defense and win 6/7 to maybe make the wild card spot. He’s a grown man he can play if he wants but 2 losses and the season is over. At least we’ll know soon with the pats, ravens x2, and the bills in the next 4 weeks. The real question is does he sit out if bengals are eliminated from the playoffs?

  11. I mean if the doctor says he’s ready, then Joe will play. That man eats, sleeps, and shits football. There’s no way Joe will ever be content with siting for the rest of the year no matter if it’s the smart thing to do for his health.

I love this guy though so any time we get to see him healthy is a blessing considering how often he’s been injured historically.

  12. If he’s nearly 100% healthy and the doctors say he’s good he should play. The reality is players and coaches have too much at stake to tank. Everyone is in self preservation mode so their job doesn’t get taken by someone else. I think this time is important for the future to get the younger guys reps in with Burrow playing. The defense is going to continue to be bad there are no easy fixes in sight. Based off last week Myles Murphy deserves to keep starting and I’d grab someone out of the stands right now to play over Geno Stone. He’s not in this team’s future and shouldn’t be playing the rest of the season after his lack of effort last week.

  13. I think people are giving Joe’s agency here way too much credit. He’s hitting recovery benchmarks set by his medical staff and will only be allowed to play if he’s cleared. It’s not as if he’s ignoring instruction and deciding to play of his own accord.

  14. I wish he’d avoid hits and we’d lose out to get an elite D talent. Instead he’ll come back, win a few games, we’ll pick 12-17 and miss elite talents, we’ll miss playoffs anyhow.

  15. I agree. Keep him out get a Top 10 pick in next year’s draft for a new coaching staff to draft.
