This is the type of leadership that the team needs right now. We’ve had a rough stretch of games, and sometimes you need to get called out. We have some great veteran presence!
He’s absolutely right.
Also, guys gotta get back to fundamentals. All the slick moves are great and get on the highlight packages but what I liked about the team for much of last year was the absolute grit, the fact that they did a little bit of everything and they didn’t overthink.
There’s guys overskating the puck, not settling down, overthinking. Now I know there’s a lot of newer guys on the team and that might be affecting things too but the core belief needs to be the same. Back to basics. The pressure isn’t going to stop, you just can’t let it get to you.
Yes I’m using too many buzzwords and phrases but you know what I mean.
I’m really tired of watching Keller/Schmaltz and whomever is the center of the night throw the puck around the ice for a minute and a half of zone time without taking a shot….
