Today is November 21st!

Ken Griffey junior and Stan Musial were born on this date in 1969 and 1920 respectively. Both men were born in Donora, Pennsylvania and are both hall of fame players. In 1963, as Musial was on his farewell tour across the league, he got heckled when he got to Philadelphia:

And in Philadelphia, while Stan was walking to the dugout after a home-plate ceremony in his honor, a Philadelphia fan bellowed from the upper deck: "Musial, you bum, I hope you strike out every time you come up." Musial smiled. It was somehow comforting to know that Philadelphia fans would never change."

The non-tender deadline is this evening. Teams need to decide whether they want to offer contracts to their arbitration-eligible (and pre-arbitration) players. Those who are not tendered contracts are sent directly into free agency without exposing them to waivers.
