  1. Amazing Ove with the Hat Trick tonight, now sitting at (1,643 points) passing Joe Sakic (1,641 points) for the 10th-most points in NHL history.

  2. The year is 2050. The 2nd round of the eastern playoffs is the Sidney Crosby led penguins and the Ovis capitals. Jagr is in attendance getting ready to be signed to another franchise to complete his path with every single team. The sabers are still in their playoff drought.

  3. It’s crazy to realize Sid will almost certainly passed Mario this year. So lucky to watch both of these dudes play their whole careers.

  4. Sidney and Alex have been the faces of this league for twenty years. Inextricably linked together since their rookie season, they not only exceeded the hype for their rebuilding teams, they became the faces of a generation of hockey players.

It will be sad indeed when they retire, but I am enjoying their game for as long as they play. Crosby’s got the Penguins back in playoff contention, Ovi just scored a hat trick at age 40…it’s magic on ice, what we’re seeing.

  5. Yzerman is so underrated. I mean, not that underrated, but like – “more points than Lemieux” underrated

  6. The craziest thing about that list is you look at everyone’s games played and it’s all 1300+.

… and then you see Lemieux at 915.

Only slightly less crazy is that you could erase all of Gretzky’s goals and he’s still the points leader. Man, 80’s hockey was nuts.

  7. Still sporting a photo of him and his buddy Putin as his profile pic too. Wonder how they will celebrate
