Weird stat, why does Trevor play better when we are behind?

  1. Liam nailed it, I think with a lead, he’s playing not to lose instead of playing to win, so it’s a mental thing for him. When he’s behind, he’s just says “Fuck it, we ball” and whatever happens, happens.

  2. he simply locks in…nah but he probably seriously does lock in a bit more when he knows that we absolutely have to score, less margin for error.

  3. Same reason we run faster when we’re chasing something vs when we’re running from something.

  4. The answer to your question would probably lie in the average depth of target for each of those categories

  5. Playcalling. More aggressive when behind. When ahead lay off the gas. Laying off the gas has always killed us. How 4th quarter comebacks happen. Momentum shifts because you start playing conservative.

  6. It also looks like he plays better when we’re tied according to this.

Honestly, it probably is just a statistical anomaly that doesn’t mean anything.

It could be just defenses playing prevent when they are ahead by a lot which was only really one game (Rams in London) but he threw a long td and made good completions and got a lot of yards while still only scoring 7 total pts on offense. If you take that game away, his trailing stats probably look a lot different.

  7. I think about a QB like Brady that can use any little transgression to fuel him up and get angry and ready to fight. I don’t think Trevor has that.

  8. Prevent defense could be part of these statistical improvements, but i also think he just takes more risks that pay off when hes desperate than when hes playing not to lose.

  9. I don’t think everyone will agree with this, but I do think Trevor is clutch. I think he has that gene where he puts us in position to win games, even if he’s not putting up pro bowler stats

  10. Trevor plays best in shotgun and he is playing free and not thinking. Im a firm believer that Doug not only messed up wentz but Trevor as well.

  11. Didn’t we all wait until the night before a research paper, assigned over a month ago, was due before typing a single word?
