Christie is growing into one of the premier shooters in the League

  1. Not only that, but he’s also shooting 50% on C&S 3s in 4.6 attempts per game, by far the most effective from the team (and without a real PG to set him up).

Christie is shaping up as an above average perimeter defender that can be a knockdown shooter while being able to put the ball on the floor. That’s the archetype of 3&D that teams overpay to oblivion. When we get an actual PG alongside him, dude will breakout for everyone to see.

  2. Max (and B-Will) was basically the only positive thing about the team last season. Those first ten game after the trade he looked like a future all star.

He probably wont ever make an All Star team, but he is already an elite role player who could start on plenty of playoff teams. Excited to see how he adds to his game in the future. He is clearly a worker. So glad he’s a Mav

  3. At 22 years old, Max is a cornerstone piece, and has so much potential with a better PG and a touch more growth. The reason we need Klay gone is because Max is better version of him at this point in his career.

Unrelated note, I was digging through the [assists per minute stat](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-assists-per-minute-nba-this-season-by-player), and there one young player that I would love to have, if we cant draft a legit PG in Mikel Brown Jr. (Peterson not happening, aint that lucky).

Keyonte George, Lewisville, TX native, age 22 currently on the Jazz.

Average statline for this year: 40% shooting on 23 pts, 7 assists, 4 boards and 1 steal. He’s coming off two 30 point games, and feels like an ascending player. While he’s not perfect, it’s what makes him acquirable.

It would give the young core a line-up of George, Max, Flagg, (PJ for now), Lively. 22 as the oldest.

If we couldn’t get our PG of the future with this next first rounder, and had to take the best player available that’s probably a forward (eventual PJ replacement) then this would be, imo, the ideal pivot.

Brandon Williams is 26 this month. He is what he is. We cant expect much more growth. I love Gafford, but he’s a 27 year old center, and his value is at this absolute maximum right now (or last year).

  4. He needs to be more aggressive offensively!

    He needs to shoot more!

He should have a minimum of 6 per 100.

  5. Christie is in a strange situation where he needs a flow / cutting based offense to flourish. We saw him next to luka last season and other than the first 10 games he wasn’t utilized properly. He would be elite in a Kerr offense sorta like a buddy hield role.

  6. The team really needs a reliable point guard, who will utilize players like Max Christie, so the Mavericks can actually start winning games.
