Saw this on sale on fanaticscollect.

If you are a big believer in the guy and money wasnt an issue. How much would you pay for this card?

I know 60k is an insane ask. I wonder how much it will end up selling for.

  1. Base autos sell for ~$125. x150 would be $18750. So I think it’s probably worth like $18750 +/- $2000.

  2. Hmm, probably at least 420.69????!
Idk I’d have to take a long, hard think… but somewhere in that ballpark, if I were said buyer 🤓

  3. All sports card prices seem divorced from reality to me. $5k and $60k sound about equally ridiculous to me as an outsider

  4. If money were no object, I guess $60000 sounds ok. Money is an object for me though, so I would pay very little for it.

  5. As someone who has sold a 1/1 card recently. They’re just trying to catch fire.

It would be smarter to list at 1k and just drop bread crumbs around it’s up for auction

  6. Is this a joke? He’s made 8 starts. Even if he goes to the hall of fame would this card ever be worth 60k?

  7. Gets a minor amusement value bump, posed as a hitter that will likely never get an AB in the majors.

  8. Assuming that I had the money AND wanted it, I’d buy it for the $60k.

I don’t want it. I’d rather have whatever the cheap version is that’s just a signed card and doesn’t have the 1/1 serial number thing.

  9. This was bought for 2k in 2023.
I’ve been looking for it. I own his non auto superfractor and the rest of the rainbow as well.

60k is not what I’d ever pay for it but I believe he’s going to be a great pitcher for us

  10. Baseball card have always been like gambling but in last few years it seems like it’s become high stakes. $500-$1000 packs from topps? Yeah that’s a no for me. I like buying the “cheap” auto cards for $10-$30. That’s good enough for me.

  11. Card collecting has become an extension of sports gambling where you are betting on guys’ careers and I am NOT here for it

  12. $20. Tops. $60,000 means he a 1st ballot HOFer.
I hope he is. The odds are greater he’ll be 89-59 lifetime with a 3.73 ERA. That ain’t worth $60K

  13. Jesus, I remember hoping to get a Gregg Jeffries rookie card. Crazy what the “hobby” has become.

  14. Idk a dollar? I’ve never been into card collecting. Go to ebay or FB marketplace to sell stuff. This is reddit.

  15. Is this sub trying to jinx McLean? He hasn’t even pitched a full year yet. This should be worth $0 at the moment.
