Lindgren deletes Burakovsky’s head

  1. Nothing pisses me off more than the obligatory “kEeP yOuR hEaD uP” comments

That being said, the puck is fumbling around, Burkovsky is fighting for control, Lindgren has already come off his man and committed to the hit; he didn’t know his head was going to be the main point of contact. The intent isn’t there.

  2. Did he put his head down (mostly from stumbling) Yes.

Did lindgren see his head down before starting the hit? Also yes.

  3. Good hit! Love to see good solid hits like that. Brings more faith that hockey hasn’t become completely pussified.

  4. Looks like two players skating in the same space. 1 is not in control of his body, the other leans/braces for contact. No Call!!

  5. Yeah, dudes got a bad habit of blowing people up. He ended Donskoi’s career and suffered no suspension. other than Kadri beating the piss out of him.

This one is worse, dude got nothing but Burky’s head. You can’t defend that. Yeah, he should keep his head up. But you can’t blow a dude up like that while he’s in a vulnerable position like that. Just like you can’t hit a guy from behind. He should be suspended, but he won’t be

  6. Lindgren is one of those players who I think at this point no longer gets the benefit of the doubt when he hits someone like that… it’s been one too many.

  7. There’s definitely no intent behind the headshot, but it’s still basically the only point of contact. I don’t understand why that shouldn’t be a penalty? It’s not like intent matters with tripping, right?

  8. Would like to see it in real time. The slow motion makes it look intentional but I doubt Lindgren had enough time to react in the moment

  9. Yes he stumbled which lowered his head into that position. No the hit was not malicious. Yes it was avoidable.

Yes primary contact was to the head. Yes it should be a penalty imho the same way an accidental high stick is still a penalty, every player should take accountability for their hits.

  10. Ryan has always had this in the bag of tricks.
But Bura can’t be bending over for the puck in traffic like that. Ryan had enuf time & space to adjust. He took advantage .
