the Canucks NEED to figure this out….

All right, guys. This team is getting really hard to watch. Honestly, it’s been hard all season, but when you watch a game like that, it’s almost more painful than when they get spanked 5 nothing because the Conucks had this game in the palm of their hands. I know it was a tie game halfway through, but with the opportunities that they were given, this was two points on a silver platter and they completely let it go to waste. I don’t know the last time the Canucks had zone time that consistent throughout a 60-minute hockey game. They dominated territorially in this one. And I’ve watched enough Conucks games over the years to know that when you dominate a game that much and you don’t capitalize on your opportunities, you’re almost guaranteed to lose that game. When the Conucks failed to score on the five on three in the second period, you kind of knew that maybe they blew an opportunity, but they just kept pouring on the pressure in that second period. They were playing very well. I have to give them a little bit of credit, but at the end of the day, they didn’t have anything to show for the multitude of chances that they had. And of course, it came to bite them. They didn’t get the two points in the end, which is the only thing that really matters out of all of this because yeah, moral victories this that we’re past the point of moral victories. This team has said that they want to win. They don’t want to rebuild. So, you have no choice but to cheer for them because no matter what happens, they are not going to try and go towards the bottom. They’re going to keep pushing. So, when you see the pace that they’re at in the standings and you see the clip that the other teams are playing at, the way they’re able to get points just like that, it just seems so discouraging because the Canucks are spending every single game grinding in a dog fight just to be able to squeak out two points. How many times this season have the Vancouver Conucks coasted to a win where they’ve been in control for the entire 60 minutes? The answer is not many. You look at teams like Anaheim and Colorado, they can score goals for fun. And yes, Jakeer did have a good game tonight, but you can’t use that as an excuse. You got to figure out a way. Anyways, we’ll talk about the goal starting off with the first period of play. In the opening minute, Lankin makes a great save. But then Marcus Person knocks the puck loose here from under his pad. It goes to Maverickborg and he puts it in on the open side to make it one to nothing. Marcus Person, I can’t lie, he has to be a little bit better in my opinion. Anyways, the Conucks get it right back. It’s Lenus Carlson here with an open shot. Goes shortside on Auter and ties it up at one a piece. But then the Dallas Stars, they come right back and it’s a great shot here from Jason Robertson. Spins around over the shoulder of Lankin. Not much you can do there. 2-1. And then the Conucks to the power play. Elias Patterson, who’s looked really good as of late, makes a nice confident move to the front of the net. Everyone’s whacking away at it. And he’s the one that gets on the end of it. He got credited with the goal. Just like that, we are tied up at two apiece. In the second period, Heronic hits the outside of the post. Then the Canucks on a five on three on the doorstep. De Brus cannot get it by. Big blown opportunity. The Stars, they come back with a chance of their own. It gets swept off the line. And then the Canucks who just have so many chances. This could be their best one yet. Elias Person here with Auer out of the crease. Puts it on net, but Auer just barely scrambles back in time to make the save. Clutch one for sure. keeps it tied as we head to the third period. And in the third period, Elias Person with yet another great chance. He could have had himself about four goals in this one, but Auter just robs him with the pad. If I’m being completely honest, this one was a great save, but man, there was so much open net there. That could have easily been a goal. It is what it is, though. We move on. Jason Robertson has a great look here after it leaks by Lanin, but Heronic is there to save the day and clear it before he’s able to get a good shot off. stays 2-2. Unfortunately for the Canucks though, Tom Vander makes a tough pinch, leaves Hughes on his own here and it gets poked for a breakaway for the Stars under the barn in the back of the net. You kind of knew it was Curtains there. The Canucks still had a couple of good chances, but then Miko Rantin with an absolutely outrageous goal here. Spinama top shelf. You got to give him some credit there. 4-2 is the final and the Canucks drop a very winnable game where they had a good effort. They played well, but they couldn’t get it done. They now have another one on Sunday against the Calgary Flames. I’ll see you there. Give me your thoughts on this one. Thank you for watching. Peace out and take care.

the Vancouver Canucks fall to the Dallas Stars 4-2 in a game where Jake Oettinger and Mikko Rantanen took over, the canucks played well with Elias
Pettersson but it wasn’t enough.

  1. Why rebuild, we have Hughes for an extra year. After that, we can trade him if he doesn’t want to stay. Quinn Hughes is a Luka Doncic. We don’t trade him unless we get a HAUL of picks

  2. Crazy take, it was amazing to watch the team take another step forward and control a game against a very good team. Canucks are starting to come into form. It's gonna be a fun ride

  3. I;m not joking I think they should try Willander w Quinn, what is there to lose we aren't playing D anyway having easily the two best skaters back there might generate more offence and easier entries

  4. i'm only watching a few sec of this video because you started with "hard to watch". i was at the game tonight. the canucks were terrific and could easily have won this game against a very strong Stars team.

  5. 2:19 – What are you talking about? "Marcus Pettersson knocks the puck loose here from under his pad": Lankinen tries to put the puck backwards/towards himself with his stick. Look at the video, use half speed if you can´t see it ohterwise.

  6. For me, the defence could be a lot better, but given the injuries, that's not really a surprise. Overall, this is kind of what I expected. I didn't expect the Canucks to beat teams like Winnipeg, Colorado or Dallas. The fact that they stayed in the game at any point was a positive. This is a hard working team. Expectations are way too high. When you're a middling team, you're going to be inconsistent. At least now, fans can't blame EP40 for everything.

  7. THIS is what EVERY Canuck team has done in the history of the franchise even in 2011 they would do this . This franchise is doomed to be mediocre or just good enough to almost get it but not quite. THis franchise should have had at least 2 cups when Bure was there but as usual more interested in selling tickets and merch than winning. So unless we get REAL change starting at the very top all the way to the bottom and changing the culture to a WINNING culture this is what you can expect

  8. I seriously HATE how goalies spend more time on their knees than standing up. Lanky could have easily stopped a couple of those goals from going in had he just stayed on his feet. Bring back the stand up goalies of the 90's! Like Kirk McLean.
