Dylan Cozens, Shane Pinto, Drake Batherson, Travis Green Postgame Media vs ANA
So, first off, Dylan, maybe just your initial thoughts on tonight’s game overall. Yeah, I think uh you know, there were some stretches where we played really well. We had lots of good possession. We were rolling the lines over and uh you know, they pushed back and had and they got the lead, but um you know, we kept battling and found a way to get a great one. Lots of good looks for you as the game went along. What did you see from yourself and your line overall? Yeah, I think uh we had some good possession. We were getting pucks to the net, getting around the net. Um and uh yeah, you know, I got to bury one of those for sure. A little open net there, but uh you know, I’m glad we got the win. Bars jumps up on that line with you and Z. Just maybe what do you see from his game and overall your makeup in the offensive? Yeah, you know, he he’s really easy to play with. You know, he can he can take face offs on that other side for me and uh you know, he’s making lots of great plays in the Ozone, little slit plays, and um you know, he’s just always in the right spot. So, uh yeah, it was great playing with him and and Z, you know, he was he was hunting pucks, uh making him turn it over and uh you know, just attacking off that. So, uh you know, I think we played good. What does a win like this do for the momentum building over the course of this trip? Yeah, you know, it’s it’s a huge trip and uh it’s great to start with a win and get two points right away. So, um you know, we enjoy it for tonight, but uh you know, we got lots more games ahead. Yeah, we’re just kind of throwing pucks on that there um two or three times in a row and uh just lucky enough to get a stick on it and found its way in. Overall for the group, just what does this win do overall? A lot of good opportunities in the offensive zone, but a big win. I think it’s big. Um, you know, I I was saying it today. We’ve struggled on these trips years past. So, coming out, uh, game one, getting used to the time change and stuff like that to get a win, uh, is huge. And, uh, I feel like we’re only going to get better the more we get used to it out here. Seemed like a first, uh, power play in the first period seemed to get momentum rolling as the game went along. What did you see from the team in the offensive zone here tonight, Craig? Yeah, a lot of good chances. Um, could have had a few more, I think. Uh, the goalie made some made some good saves. We hit a lot of posts. So, um, yeah, I know it’s another tight game and, uh, we’re lucky enough to find a way to win it. Stephen Holidayiday was the first NHL point on Shane’s goal. Just what does that mean for the group to see that one? Oh, it was awesome. Uh, obviously a really skilled high IQ player. Um, you know, he makes that play through the seam, saucer pass right on the tape. Uh, impressive stuff. Um, I mean, I’ve been watching him do that all year. So, uh, really happy for him, him and his family today. Obviously, it’s a huge day and uh to get a point on and a nice play is huge. And a win like this, what does it do for momentum? You mentioned the trip. What does this do for the rest of the trip here? Yeah, I know. It’s great. Um like I said, it’s nice to always start with a win. Um our division right now is so tight. These points are are huge and uh hopefully we have a good road trip. We’ll set ourselves up nice uh going home. Thoughts on the team’s game tonight? Seemed like a gutsy effort from Yeah. Yeah, they uh you know they had a good push there, but uh Ollie made some uh big saves for us and just a good team win and a good way to start the trip. Couple good looks for the team as the game went along as well. What did you see from the team in the offensive? Yeah, I thought we did a good job honestly. I think uh a lot of movement uh our day were active and uh yeah, some good looks. We had to continue that uh throughout these next couple games here. You mentioned that. What’s this win do for the momentum going forward throughout the rest of the trip? Yeah, it’s important. And I think, you know, you want to start off the trip right and um just a big two points and hopefully we could carry it into San Jose on Saturday. How he gets his first point in NHL career on your goal. What’ you see on that play and what’ you see from his reaction as well? Yeah, fired up for him. I think you know obviously highly skilled play. He has good vision and made a nice play to me and uh yeah, happy he got his first one in his first game. A resilient uh group tonight. Uh I didn’t think we were great to start the game. Uh found our game. I thought the power play gave us some momentum. had a lot of good looks to man probably score three or four and uh you know when that happens sometimes you start feeling like maybe it’s not your night but give our our group credit they stuck with it. You mentioned the power they gave momentum from that point on. What do you see in the offensive zone specifically that was able to work for the group? I don’t know if there’s anything specifically uh I thought we did a good job when we played in uh down below the circles. Uh we had a lot of good looks in front of the net. Um just a real good team effort tonight. Dylan was joined by Eller and Z tonight on that line. Eller joining up on that unit. What did you see from that unit? Yeah, big game out of Lars tonight. Uh hadn’t skated in four days and uh flew in last night. I thought he was outstanding. Nicholas Matt Paulo left the game a bit early. Any update on him? No. Okay. Thanks.
