We don’t really have the receipts to back that up this season but I appreciate the notion, Tom.
I don’t think it’s delusional to think that if we get in, there’s no team in the AFC that any of us looks at and goes, ”Damn, no way we’re beating them.”
A lot of reasons to be frustrated so far in the season, but also still plenty for reasons to be hopeful.

I see what he’s saying. From 2018-2024 this is a correct statement. Right now I do not believe the chiefs will even make the playoffs and they are the most non clutch team of all time on both sides of the ball.
That being said, the delusional homer in me looks at the remaining 7 games and sees 7-0 as not impossible. Not likely but even 6-1 isn’t far fetched. This has been my chiefs kingdom red colored glasses analysis.
And then the other team lines up in a defensive alignment to specifically defend the pass, knowing full well the chiefs will ignore not only the run game, but the very way they played that allowed them to make three straight super bowl appearances.

As much as brady annoys me, it entertains me that he stans for Patrick.
Sometimes I really don’t know how Brady actually feels about the chiefs, his legacy is pretty safe. And he’s a smart guy, he knows how much further it goes to be positive about other players versus being negative and protective of his legacy, it’s a very likable quality about a guy who tormented all of us for years.

As a Dodgers fan I thought this was another year where they get bounced early in the playoffs, I was wrong. As a HUGE Chiefs fan, I felt they didn’t do shit in the offseason, and this may be the year we get bounced early in the playoffs. Except… no one else is running away with it, there’s lots of parody in the league, and all we need to do is heat-up and make the playoffs. Guaranteed no one wants to face us.
The whole point of power rankings is to give a more realistic idea of how good teams are regardless of their record. I’ll never understand people who get mad when power rankings don’t match the standings exactly like that’s the whole point of the power ranking.
Also, the Chiefs have the highest FPI on the season by a comfortable margin so that’s gotta be worth something.
