Whatever to trade away to get WAJ and Bullock seems like it belongs on the shortlist of best draft trades of all time. We gave up lots of potential but more than realized actual value.
If only CJ wasnt shaky for a year we’d be bowl contenders
I remember when people on this sub used to bitch about that trade up and say it was a bad move.
Probably the same people crying about Stroud and saying they should roll with Mills lmfao.
Getting Bullock out of that trade too is also a great get.
Paris Johnson JR has been pretty good for the cardinals and some of the other guys have promise but good lord bullock and WAJ almost single handedly won us that game last night. Two absolute monsters
Absolutely but this sub is the only place where people will genuinely claim that it was a bad trade.
It took massive balls to trade up to 3 after picking 2 but damn did it work out.
The trade for getting Will Anderson with the 3rd pick is probably the greatest draft moment for me. I was not sure about taking Stroud (despite my Ohio State alumni wife’s love of him) with the 2nd, I wanted Anderson. When we picked Stroud I was in a state of acceptance. When we moved up and got Anderson I lost my mind with excitement. Greatest draft move I can remember and I I’ve been rooting for Houston football since the 70s.
Even at the time I was so stoked because it was so exciting seeing the team actively trying to improve after the Lovie and Culley years. The fact it’s worked out this well is just amazing
never really fair to compare the drafted players in a trade like this straight up bc draft is such a crap shoot; but whatever we paid was worth it
One of the greatest trades in Texans history.
2 impact players for a bunch of inconsequential players
This shit right here is why Caserio is going nowhere for like 10 years and why this team is going to contend for rings.
They were more sure of WAJ than even CJ. But taking CJ at 2, lowered the asking price to go from 12 to 3
Yes I think so granted I can’t remember any other move ups that we’ve made but getting your franchise QB and then going back up to get your Franchise edge rusher was an all time move. That one trade is a big reason we turned it around so quickly.
Casserio hit big in his craps run this draft, wish he can get it with some interior oline but hey I’ll take it
best trade ever was trading away a predator for 3 first.
edit sorry that wasn’t a trade up, apologies I misred your post
This is a really stupid post. Trying to attribute the Bullock pick to this trade means you are intentionally trying to mislead people. Also, showing who was drafted in those slots is pointless and incredibly dumb.
More slop for the brain dead morons.
Bullock is a star. We might have the best safety duo AND corner duo in the league
To make this better, we gave up our own pick in 2024 betting that we would be better than the Browns.
When we beat the Browns in the playoff that year it sealed the fact that we gave up the less valuable pick.
If the Cardinals had somehow known, we would win our division and a playoff game the next year, they don’t make that trade.
Don’t ask Landry Locker about it, because I know he “wonders” about trading up for WAJ. It’s funny though because he seemingly praised the colts for giving up 2 first round draft picks to an already top of market paid CB because it meant they were going all-in. Giving up what we gave up to get a defensive minded head coach his psycho on defense was worth every piece of draft capital we gave up.
God if CJ could just live up to his potential. Even just being average right now would be nice
looking back on it, this is still an insanely risky move lmao
Uh yes, I would make that trade many times for the players
