My local baseball team put this on their sign

  1. Nope, not signing a guy to a record setting contract to a guy who can’t pitch more than 6 innings in a postseason, elimination game. Those are the situations where those guys earned their money, and he didn’t.

  2. We could give him the biggest offer in MLB history and boras is using that as a jumping off point for the market.

  3. Skubal get’s a $400M contract. Tigers get him for 5 years at $50M starting next year and then the tigers are obligated to trade him to the Diamondbacks for a player to be named later and the Diamondbacks pay him $30M for 5 years.

  4. we can offer him 500M and the dodgers will offer him 501M. this is how boras operates. he wants to set a pitching contract record. it’s not as simple as paying skubal

  5. Putting up there something like “Boras let the Tigers extend him already!” would be more appropriate. Instead of letting him off the hook and blaming the Tigers.

  6. I should get down to a Growlers game next summer. I live in Grand Rapids but I’ve never been.

  7. Have we considered that maybe, just maybe, Skubal doesn’t want to be extended by Detroit?
