Bears ‘will beat’ Steelers, Are the Bills doing enough to support Josh Allen? | The Herd
Josh Allen once again feels like a 6’6 pinata. Upset time last night. So, 4 things are happening with Buffalo. None of them good. They’ve become very turnover prone, 3 last night. Houston with no run game, ran for over 100 yards. The O-line got worked, and oh, by the way, they have no deep threat at all. Other than that, things are great. You know, a lot of times. Quarterbacks let down a franchise. I feel like the franchise can’t get the playing on time, is letting down Josh Allen. I mean, Davis Mills is a pro, I get it. But he engineered two long drives, 77, 75 yards. My eyes tell me, I watched that game, you watched that game. Texans have better players. There’s 7 or 8 great rosters in this league. Buffalo is not one of them. They’re not one of them. I mean, at D-line, wide receiver and corner, Houston’s much better. It’s not close. I don’t want to hear that Ed Oliver’s hurt. It’s the NFL or that Dalton Kincaid’s not available. You have two other tight ends, or that Keyon Coleman, the young receiver is a bit immature. Well, it’s a league full of young guys. The Texans were missing their quarterback, and the Bills are getting into a really bad habit of losing to average quarterbacks. Their last 3 losses are to. Tua, Michael Pennox, and Davis Mills. And I know he’s a pro, but, uh, Davis Mills should not be beating Josh Allen. I don’t want to see Chef Boyardee out cooking Bobby Flay ever under any circumstances, period. So now Josh Allen clearly is pressing. Because he doesn’t have a deep threat. Houston’s got a real defense. He’s been pressing this year, so his turnovers are up. He has 3 more picks than all of last season. And why? Nobody’s open downfield. You can’t win Super Bowls in this league where every drive is 14 plays. You need a Jamir Gibbs to peel a big one off or Justin Jefferson to go over the top, or Devonte Adams to beat his man. Buffalo doesn’t have that. Houston had more speed. A little bit more size, more depth. So, Buffalo suddenly now can only win one way. Josh Allen has to have 3 or more touchdowns, and last week he had 6. They can win that way. Not sustainable. And he’s only missed 4 games in his career. But Josh Allen on more than 1 occasion last night, got up slowly. And I don’t care that he’s 6’6. Go ask Cam Newton. And Big Ben, who took a beating. Because they extended plays, put themselves in the crosshairs. It’s not all the offensive line’s fault. He extends plays, he can run backwards. He did that a couple of times last night, but go ask Cam and Big Ben who are 6’6. It takes years off your prime. So, Josh Allen is 30 now. And the, and he’s gonna be out of this prime in a couple of years. So, Buffalo to me, Brandon Be the GM, he doesn’t have enough help offensively. It’s on you, it’s on Sean McDermott, can’t get a plan on time. It’s on the O-line, it’s on the wide receivers. Yes, Keyon Coleman is, is a bit immature at this point in his life. You gotta do the homework when you draft him. You know, young receivers like that sometimes have red flags. You gotta do the homework. That’s part of it. You know, and so, you know, young guy being a bit immature. Welcome to professional sports. You, I don’t want to hear blaming him. So, I, all I know is in this league, we beat up on quarterbacks when they can’t carry a good coach or carry a good roster. I feel like you got the quarterback. You can’t be losing to Tua and backups, and Michael Pennox. Can’t, can’t happen. Josh Allen is forcing it. Josh Allen’s frustrated. He got clobbered last night. Now, again, Houston’s defensive front, I mean, Houston’s defense overall, Bullock’s great in the back end. They’re really good. They’re not that good. Speaking of another very talented quarterback, Sunday in sunny Chicago, Bears host the Steelers. And there’s a lot of Caleb Williams critics and doubters. I am not one of them, although I do think sometimes I’d like to see more consistent accuracy. But for the doubters and critics, this is a game that you are waiting to see, right? Because Pittsburgh punishes you. They forced 11 turnovers with Daniel Jones and Drake May. Those teams were combined 17 and 4, and those teams are better than Pittsburgh, but Pittsburgh beat them. Because they took the ball away. The Steelers are 5-0 when they win the turnover battle, and it’s the only way Pittsburgh is gonna win this weekend. Why? Because Aaron Rodgers is not 100% and he’s old, and they cannot run the football. OK, so Pittsburgh is, last week, they played Ciny, 4 touchdowns, 2 are on defense. That’s how Pittsburgh wins now. Especially with Aaron probably playing at about 75, 80%. The, the running game is bad. It’s not getting better. So the, the, this should be a low scoring game. Whoever wins the turnover battle probably wins the game. That’s how Pittsburgh’s gonna have to win. And it, it probably should be one of those games where Caleb Williams plays in structure, and it’s kind of boring. Boring will win, because I think Chicago is the better team and they’re at home. And they have the better offense and the weather is not going to be an issue. So, this is a classic game in the NFL for a young quarterback to have to understand what he needs to deliver. This does not need to be a highlight. Get rid of the ball quickly. Do not tease or challenge TJ Watt. Stay in the pocket, get rid of it, play within structure. Caleb does not throw a lot of picks. But if he’s going to, this Pittsburgh team with Mike Tomlin is a great underdog team. Tomlin’s as good an underdog coach and motivator as the league has, and Aaron’s banged up and they can’t run the ball. So, there is a way Mike Tomlin is preaching, we’re taking the ball away from the young guy. We got to create turnovers. We have to score in defense and special teams. That’s their route to win. Chicago can win multiple ways, but the absolute way they’ll lose is to play into Tomlin, which is turnovers and giveaways. So, I think, I think Caleb’s gonna play well. I think Chicago is the better team. I think the weather sets up for him. I like Chicago in this spot. Don’t love them, like them. Now, Drake May’s been unbelievable this year. He unraveled against the Steelers. Daniel Jones and the Colts’ offense, number one in the league in efficiency. Daniel Jones unraveled against Pittsburgh. And, and the Colts are better than Pittsburgh. Let’s be honest about that. New England’s better than Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh beat them both. One way, the defense creates turnovers. That is the way Pittsburgh wins this weekend. So can Caleb play, really play within structure, kind of be boring. Get rid of the ball quickly. Don’t, don’t, don’t tease TJ Watt. Don’t. It’s not good. So, I think it’s a fascinating game. And if you’re a critic or a doubter of Caleb Williams, you’re sitting there on X, you’re just ready to push send. You are just ready to push, told you so. I think, I think Chicago is a better team. Weather plays the part. Aaron’s banged up. I think they’re gonna win.
The Houston Texans beat the Buffalo Bills 23-19 after sacking Josh Allen 8 times and forcing 2 INTs. Colin Cowherd asks if the Bills are doing enough to support Josh Allen, and he asks if the Chicago Bears will stay hot vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Are the Bills doing enough to support Josh Allen?
How do you feel about the Panthers give me a view on what you think of the Carolina Panthers
I think that’s a pretty fair analysis of how the bears/steelers game will go
Great analysis, as a Bears fan im used to all the criticism Caleb gets (that’s what comes with being the number 1 pick). I like our chances on Sunday, but I’m worried the Steelers vets and experiences will be the difference between our young team. However, my bears and Caleb have shown if the game is close WE WILL COME OUT VICTORIOUS! 🐻⬇️
I think the game will be anything but boring.. Aaron's literally lit up when reporters asked him about playing in Chicago for one (maybe last) time. Aaron wants to win this one. Caleb and the team want to win even more. Us bears fans want to see us win too. It will certainly NOT be a boring game.
Chalk up another victim for HBO's Hard Knocks…
