Probably been a post about this already, but I was wondering.
After the A's complete the trek to Las Vegas, the Angels will be the only California team in the American league.
Would it be smart to go back to the "California Angels" to capture some fans that are feeling "teamless"? They could play that up in marketing.
I know Arte can't seem to do anything "smart" anymore. Beyond money grabs, I never understood any of the name changes, I liked them being the California Angels.
Seems to me that they could grab fans from the Bay Area, San Diego county along with the Central Valley.
Wondering whether people that don't resonate with the Dodgers, Padres and Giant might gravitate to that name again?

After being the laughing stock of the league ever since we made the LAA change, I am done with any talk of compromises or half measures to go back to what the club should be. In addition “California Angels” makes it easier for Arte or any new ownership to relocate the team out of the city once any and all Anaheim branding has been dropped.

It’s the logo and look that I like best, but undoubtedly that’s because I’m old. I like it, but there should be no going back.
Anaheim Angels. A little alliteration goes a long way. Plus “AA” would be more apt given their record.
Honestly I’d personally prefer it over Anaheim. l live out in the IE but they’ve always been my team. But Anaheim Angels sounded so good too, either would be fine with me.

They can’t. If I remember correctly, teams can’t change their name to the state name anymore. Only teams grandfathered in can keep the name.
