If the Leafs are trading either Morgan Reilly or Brandon Carlo, should or would we be in on either guy?

No and no
Absolutely not
We were not projected to be good enough to even be in the wild card hunt this year. Currently we look like a playoff bound team (obviously only 1/4 of the season in, but the team LOOKS like they are)
We also still have multiple firsts next draft and all of our other firsts for future drafts and a suddenly deep prospect pool.
If the team is still playing as well near the trade deadline, spending picks/prospects to bring in someone new could have the exact opposite effect.
Long answer short, nope.
I wanna see what we got in warren. I moved so I don’t get too see bridgeport games anymore but while he was up here I loved what I saw. Hopefully romonov isn’t out for the whole year. I don’t really think we need to give up a 1st+ for a offensive ld when we have one already and ours can actually play defense. If you can trade for a young rd then go for it give up whatever those are unicorns.
Morgan Reilly is more of a power play quarter back. Which we have Schaefer who is better at that role.
In defensive zone he’s meh, despite his size soft in front of the net.
In terms of Carlo. Hes bigger, played for Bruins and is somehow even softer in front of the net.
Huge no from both of those guys.
No. I don’t want anything to do with their team, or their team ethos.
Why the HELL would anyone want Morgan Reilly? HARD PASS
Brandon Carlo?…meh
Hilarious. Has it even been 6 months since everyone hated Lou for trading away all of our picks?
It’s great we’re contending so far, but we should not trade serious future assets. Every year, there’s decent guys you can get for mid rounders. I wouldn’t do more than that.
No on both just because fuck helping out the Leafs by taking contracts off their hands. They made their bed now they can sleep in it.
