  1. It’s real simple to me “If you don’t like the Kyle then there’s the door best of luck”.

    There is a doubt in my mind that Kyle Shannahan is only interested in winning and everything he does is based on that. I don’t care what the critics or talking heads say.

  2. There are athletes who never need to pay for another meal in the Bay Area ever again. 

    In Aiyuk’s case, anytime he eats anywhere, he should be forced to pay for everyone else’s meals too.

  5. Thank god he didn’t show up. He was a great athlete but not an elite one, and he fucked his knee bad.

    Him voiding the guarantees is a good outcome in my eyes, I expected us to just be stuck with him or eat some of next years cap hit to even trade him somewhere. Now there is no uncertainty and we can just move on.

    Gonna miss aiyuk. His ladybug blessed NFCC catch against the lions is one of my favorite 49ers plays ever. But the holdout and subsequent injury were terrible and such is life 

  7. The report states the 49ers wanted to keep BA. They wanted him to return and he refused so they have the ability to take his money. Wide receivers man.

  8. Damn, even more reason we should have traded for Jaelan Phillips. Our 3rd is even more valuable than the Eagles’ and we absolutely could re-sign him with Brandon Aiyuk savings.

    He’s transformed the Eagles, making every other Eagles’ job easier. He’s been great in the pass and run. Eagles now rocking top 5 if not better defense and Vic Fangio is cooking.

    – Lost the SB to them

    – Aiyuk got injured vs them.

  16. Bizarre sequence of events. Kinda hard to know what’s really going on since either side will spin it in their favor. But clearly he is checked out since he’s willing to walk away from all that money.

  20. He was nothing but bad vibes that whole holdout summer. I wanted the team to trade him before the season started, was really disappointed with his payday. Then, surprise surprise, he completely sucked and then got injured. Now we find out, surprise surprise, just more bad vibes this year. Because there are contrarians to every single thing these days, of course you had people here defending him and his deal the whole way through, even though it was crystal clear he’d soured into a bad apple long ago and no longer belonged on this team. None of this is a surprise now, the seeds were clear for all to see a year and a half ago. So long, good riddance. Thanks for one good year.

  22. I admit that I’ve been totally annoyed with the BA drama the last two years but at this point I’m really starting to question his mental health. He has nothing to gain by any of this, it’s beyond bizarre.

  23. Aiyuk started being a bitch as soon as we lost that Super Bowl. It was evident in his post-game interview and the statements his girlfriend and brother were making on social media that he wanted to leave.

    I wish we would have traded him to the Steelers, but now I just hope we can get *something* for him. My biggest question is, who would be willing to not only give up value, but also take on his massive contract with the uncertainty around his knee? If he doesn’t play by the end of the year and show that he is still a WR 1, he isn’t going to get shit from a new team and neither will we. Thus, the most likely scenario is a lose/lose situation where we cut him and he is forced to sign a contract at a massive discount to his current deal.

    All because he’s being a little pouty bitch who won’t do his job even though the team has already paid him $48 million so far from his new deal for playing in 6.5 games.

  34. Appreciate everything he’s done in uniform obviously but man this feels really dumb. He was getting a great share of throws his way, a really good coach and franchise, and got paid top dollar. Usually wide receivers are divas in contract years when they’re not getting the ball or are out playing their contract. Man voided guaranteed money coming off an ACL tear. Feels like a special kind of stupid honestly. With cap hits coming off our books and BA throwing away his money, we should be able to retool whatever we need next year(hopefully o-line).

  38. You all are too much attached to your emotions. Aiyuk had good years but nothing from him is game changing or hall of fame performance. In the history of wide receivers he’s averaged. I think the 49ers made the right call. He will land on his feet somewhere nice.

  39. I genuinely worry about the dude’s mental health. All he has to do is show up to the meetings and pretend like he is trying hard and he gets millions and millions of dollars.

  40. For his sake, I hope he has a smart, trustworthy financial adviser that invested his money. I hope he doesn’t burn through cash and become another broke athlete.

    Will always be a fan but yeah, this is too much now. Seems like he’s done with the game.

  42. Guy lost his way b4 and after the injury. He really was all about him. Time to move on.
