It’s finally official according to Justin Willard himself

  1. Great hire, did a lot of good work to turn ok prospects into real possible weapons in Boston like Tolle and Early. Should be fun to see what he can do with this staff and the prospects beyond it

  2. Sox have had some good young pitching of late, hopefully he can bring some more magic to that young core of starters and teach our other guys to throw strikes in a way Hefner could never seem to

  3. Im not judging him for being young and looking very very young but he really does spin in his chair like my kid does

  4. Amen to strike throwing. Two straight seasons of being at the bottom of the MLB in walks issued was enough for Hefner not to return. Glad he landed on his feet but it was time for a change. Past the three prospects we saw in ’25 there are numerous others who looked great in the milb last season. Hopefully he can help develop some of those to be effective (and cheap) bullpen arms!
