The Chase: Season 2, Episode 3 – “Peaks & Valleys,” ft. Nazem Kadri’s 1000th Game | Calgary Flames
So, I was told this when I was young. The rats has heard it too. It’s the Swedish thing. So, when you buy a new hind catch a bottle like that, piece of screw cord, you know, first you shake it, nothing comes. You keep shaking it. A little bit comes. Keep shaking it, shaking it, shaking it. Eventually, splash. It’s the same in hockey. If you create a lot of chances, if you shoot a lot of pucks, you got to keep doing that and, you know, eventually the pucks will win. Play the right way. Do the little things right. Stay with the process. You know, you win one game, keep doing it. You’re going to win next game and then a bunches. It’s a ketchup effect. It’s a big thing in Sweden, right? Slapping. But two things in Sweden. Believe in ourselves and believe in this team. Let’s do it together. Let’s go. Come on, Connor. Touch them all, kid. Touch them all. Oh wow. 16. You looked sexy out there. What a warm up at 16 today. I’ll tell you that. I saw it. Nice on the right side. Special stuff, man. I might have to lose his hips out there today. You did. C. Stay hot, buddy. Yeah. new bud. Yeah, boys. Yeah. One game at a time. Starts tonight. Be predictable. Be talking. Be fast. Work. Everybody great with sticks. Stick on puck everywhere. And when it comes into the battle, guys, make sure to work hard in the battle and you’re strong on your sticks in that battle. And then we got to win the quick support race everywhere on the ice. Okay. Looking for a complete game tonight. So that’s full 60 minutes of work. You want to play a complete game, we got to have a great start from every line. But backs, you guys get us going well. We’re Andy Wolfy. Let’s talk. And we are underway with the first period of play here at the Saddle Dome. And finally the catch up close does the trick. That great move around lap front run here to open up some space. Back to the line ballot scores. Keep that fast fast. Right. Stay fast. Stay fast, baby. We’re We’re hooped with these two guys. You got to work your coming back for one, but try to keep some momentum. We got to get second period urgency now. Okay. We got to think about playing quick up hockey. We got to Don’t let that blue line be a roadblock for us. And we’re right back at him right away. First five minutes. Okay, let’s get one the right wing side. Zary able to dance and now center. Sharon Govich scores up top box. Tip player diving stop will grab it. Gets in the manage. Stopped by Wol. Yeah, nice move. Fast, too. We got to get pace up. First 5 minutes, we got to have the push, guys. So, we’re 30 second shifts. We’re going to roll everybody over. We’re going to play in their zone. We’re going to win two points. Now at Bandon two shorthanded it up the right side back to Coleman. He scores a knocker. Back scores. They reunite and find another goal. And for the first time this season, the sea of red rises here at Scotia Bank Saddle Dome. It’s there. Like, it really is there. You just got to keep pushing. But you did a great job tonight getting yourself prepared to play. Um, now we go on the road before which I think is going to be great for us guys. You just keep grinding away cuz as back said old heights 57 over there. It it just it keeps coming keeps coming. Okay. Great. Oh, great game boys. Uh, if you guys can have this Texas Tiger hot now it’s got to start it but and the frost fight was on a right wing tonight. Great effort. Uh, let’s have a nice big on the arms. The team embarks on a long road trip out east, starting in Toronto. a homecoming for several Flames players, including Morgan Frost and rookie Zayn Perk, making his first trip home as an NHLer. You know, it looks a little bit unfamiliar when I’m when I’m on the ice rather than up in the stands, but um you know, really excited. I have a lot of friends and family coming. So, uh should be a fun one. The game against New York, just an unreal job with your discipline. Okay, we took one minor penalty and when you look at that, it’s the difference always in games. Last night, Ottawa’s game, four power play goals, game over. So, it’s the difference, guys. So, stay with that. Make sure you’re prepared the right way. Show up in a high quality way. Let’s keep going. Go. The puck has been dropped and we are underway with the first period of play. Hey navigating comes to Frost. He scores off the post and in for one nothing. Hey baby up. You know every time I step in there it just kind of brings back childhood memories that maybe uh I would have forgotten about otherwise. And the dream was always for me to score a goal there and and my dad to announce it and obviously he’s not there anymore, but to score there and have him in the building is is a it’s a good, you know, second option. And I feel like that kind of shaped me. My love for hockey was going there all the time as a kid. So, um it’s really cool to go back and play. What’s up, Stoie? Let’s play. Nothing like a little hip in the ACC. A little hip in the ACC. Yeah. It gets me going. I used to commentate the game right above where it said he was the announcer. No way. Yeah. 17 years. No way. I would have heard him my whole childhood then. Hey, that’s unreal. Legendary Leaf’s voice Andy Frost or to Morgan dad. definitely different. Uh, you know, you’re going to the rink all the time and, you know, he he wasn’t playing hockey, but, uh, he was obviously super involved and, uh, all my friends always thought that was so cool and and every once in a while I’d get to, you know, bring my friends to the game with me and I think growing up I tried to tried to imitate his voice as often as I could. Super cool to to grow up with that for sure. As long as we just hand off with our stick, I know they’re not going to have any team. He’s like sifted through. Yeah. and then hit my glove. I just kind of like stuck my glove like up in here. Pick. Here comes Knander along with McMahon. Knander in. Pass to McMahon. Sliding over to make the save is Dustin Wolf. How about a twoon one shaping up the other way to drag scores. Keep putting it behind their D man. That’s gone. N got no stick. Flames off the dog. Kirkland coming in with Baraby. Some room. Baraby jams and scores. There it is for Joel Far. You think he’s happy now? Let’s see him smile, bud. Come on, man. Hey, keep going, boys. Dig this. Do it the right way. We get shot. Got it. Are you on the wall? I’m in the middle, so it’s coming to me. Yeah. Look for me back. Yeah. If it’s clean though, right on Huie’s tape. I’m going to the net. And then you’re going through. I’m going the higher. I’m going back. And I go I’m going to the net cuz if if the center lets me go, we got a twoon one. Hanza alone shoots. Scores. First NHL goal for Sam Hanzik and it was worth the wait. Too many turnovers and too many things that end up hurting the Flames when it’s all said and done. And in the end, the Flames pick up a regulation loss on a night where they probably should have at least got this thing to overtime. We’re getting set for a battle between the Flames and the Senators. It hasn’t been easy, but our We have a great locker room in there. It’s not toxic. Nobody’s pointing fingers at each other. We’re all trying to figure out ways to do it together. Everybody’s got to play a little bit better. Box has been dropped and we are underway with the first period of play. Good job, Devin. Now Fabby across and that scores. What a shot by Sher. That’s it. Yeah. And Lucian’s love it. Good job. Come on. We want more. Let’s go. Good job. Sharp. Max in. Shot. Stomp. Rebound. Scores. Short hand. Out of the corner. Backhander now to Coronado and still corn. Scores. He runs into me. He ran into me. Off power, right? Yeah. Great power. He gets so high that he pitches off each wide open. Come up a little bit. Have that awareness. You’re kind of on an island there. Yeah. As soon as he comes, it kind of should cuz it’s just the forward. So, if we just pull up their D just backs right off. Let’s go Deon. Do the same. Let’s go. You’re doing good. You’re doing good. Swings down to Cousins up top. Glove. Save. Deon going. Six guys. Look at him. There he goes. Good job, Bowler. He’s there. Stay on me, bowler. There’s no way baller. Baller Evan Avery play all the way. All the way down to the goal net ski. I like that elbow. That was sick. 3 seconds. Oh, I know. It’s like this. You see guys like Why not? I don’t think anybody does that. To take that puck away from Sanderson now on to Cadry. Back to Humo. Back to Cadry. Score. That’s it. That’s it. N Patterson in on Kulie. Shoot. Scores. One. Frost in on denied and the Flames will fall short in a shootout. After a winless start to the trip, the Flames recruit a few top supporters from back home to try and bring some luck in the Music City. On the switch, Stasny gets it back to Tipp in front and the will score. one-time set up. Barby scores. Whitless streak extends on the road trip. Unfortunately for the Flames, they drop it to 4 to the final. The road trip concludes with back-to-back games, finishing in Philly. Play a complete 60 minutes, not 55, not 59, 60 minutes. And uh but we’re in a lot of games and uh it’s going to turn here. So not supposed to easy, baby. Take pride in denying shot attempts against that means your sticks are great and your feet are moving all over the place. Okay, let’s have a great start. A little extra energy required. Cue the birthday boy, Rick Davis, who more than delivers. Let’s ground ourselves. Big deep breath in. Exhale. Now we’re going. Let’s put our work boots on and bear our opposition up front. Hubo Cornado on the back end. We Joel in that Dusty Wool. It’s great. I can’t wait to see that video of Ricky. Uh he got the boys fired up. It’s big birthday for him. If there’s anybody that’s going to get us fired up before a game like this, it’s Ricky. Here the rebound away also. Hubo scores. Right point to Weaguer with the shot. Scores. McKenzie Weaguer took the shot and Jonathan Hoover tipped the puck past Alexe Klesov. His second goal of the game. The Flames find a way to win one as they wrap up their four-game road trip and snap a sevengame road losing streak with a hardfought 2-1 victory over the Flyers. Okay, quick QB. Two big ones. didn’t want the empty net, but that’s for the three. And then I got to say uh Wolfie, good bounce back for us. And then I got to Weigs and Nacho. You guys areing outstanding both of you guys. So that’sing great. Great job. That’s a big win for us to end this trip off. Good job, boys. Great team effort. Kind of like H said, Wolfie, great job. We Nacho, but Johnny Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Big win, boys. The one who should have it. It’s a big Rick. There you go, bud. Oh my god. Thank you. I appreciate that. Hey, great job. Let’s keep it going. It was a It was a difficult first few years with the Maple Leafs, but if you would have told yourself then that, hey, don’t worry, you’re going to hit a thousand games. Uh what do you think what do you think then Nas would have uh would have reacted like? Uh yeah, I would have said there’s no way. I don’t think it’s really quite sunk in yet, but uh you know, I’m sure in the next couple days it will. The day and the game have arrived and to celebrate, Nazam Cadri has a surprise for his teammates. I can see the handman rolling some in with that thing now. Honestly, I wasn’t quite sure what to get. I was I was uh I was conflicted a little bit but figured everybody you know likes to play golf and I had a contact with Scotty Cameron so shout out Golf Town hooking me up and uh you know was able to customize it. I don’t know if you guys seen the the club faces. They look pretty sick. Classy guy Naz. But the main gifts on this day were for the man of the hour. Oh, we got all the bells and whistles today, boys. The man himself is here, too. The block special night. We’re all very excited for you. Um, do our best to get you win tonight and play for you. Uh, it’s going to be a special day night for you. So, we’re super excited. Uh, the trainers got something for you. We heard that your golf bag was a little weak, so we wanted to get you something. So, Benny, come on in. This is Fern from all the players, of course. Got a couple gifts for you. Sweet. We know you like the bling bling, so No way. Bella’s Oh my god. You guys, I’ll never forget. and uh you know I’ll always remember where I was and when it was when you know when I when I played this match. So um and you guys are all a part of it. Chuck presentation um to Foundation. Um and then we’ve got the silver stick presentation. So like I said, a lot of things are coming in and out here. We’ll stay out of the way. When you’re part of the select group that gets to a thousand games, it it means something. You have to see his face. Oh, he’s there. Look, he’s passing out the pumps. See, look over there. He’s passing out. Cadri. Cadri. All I see is Cadri. Thank you. Come on. Come on. Is that how they dry their gloves? Dry. Yeah. Your dad doesn’t dry them, though. It’s your time to shine, girl. So Dman, you got to get back hard and if we don’t like what we see, it’s coming that hard on the goalie’s forehand side. And then ready for their DMA to stay up, play behind them. Make sure we hunt those guys. First period ready. Let’s have a great start. We got the cutest lineup reader tonight. Zary number 47. Farabe number 86. Hanley number 44. Mac and cheese. Number 52. Please welcome number 91, Nazam Cadri. Oh, well, thanks, baby. Thank you. Thanks, Max. Thank you. Thank you. We did. We did. We did. During his nine seasons in Toronto with a shot deflection to a two-1 lead. In 2019, Nasam Kadri was acquired by the Colorado Avalanche where his game promptly reached new heights. Nasam’s leadership on the ice continued into the 2022 postseason where he continually delivered in critical moments and a heroic return to action. You remember that Nazum Cadry? Do you though? Then came a new chapter when tonight we celebrate more than just a milestone. We celebrate the journey and the legacy still being written. How heavy is this? So heavy boysounce. You got From the highs of a thousandth game celebration on home ice to the lows of a threeame slide. The roller coaster ride continues for the Calvary Flames. Tough fight, but they could not find an equalizer and they end up falling 32. Now it is turned over scores. Shoots and scores. A great overall full 60 minutes from the Flames. Wolfie, great job. Coy, big goal. So, I’m going with my lining ready to play today. I want you on me. Keep it going. On the next episode of The Chase, new faces and life on the road. Cad cross scores. What a setup from Cad. By the time, you know, my my head hit the pillow last night. I mean, it was nothing but, you know, just excitement and and eagerness to kind of get in here and meet the guys and and get going. Trying to make play on the first one, too. It’s coming. It’s coming.
As the Flames hit the quarter mark of the NHL season, it’s clear the 2025-26 campaign will be filled with both highs… and lows.
On this episode, we catch up with Morgan Frost, whose father, Andy, was the longtime PA voice of the Toronto Maple Leafs and helped shape ‘Frosty’ into the player – and the man – he is today. Growing up in The Six, Morgan grew up cheering for the Leafs and listened to the Tragically Hip on repeat in the old ‘ACC,’ so coming back and scoring a big goal in the building he knew so well?
That’s the stuff of dreams.
From there, the Flames head off to Ottawa, where Adam Klapka gave us plenty of stirring moments on the mic. And after a tough outing in Nashville, the Flames finished up with the trip with a massive win in Philadelphia – helped, in part, by the pre-game stylings of Flames Director of Sports Performance Rick Davis, who ignited the boys with an all-time starting lineup read.
But as memorable as that was, the Man of the Hour – Nazem Kadri – took centre stage when the team returned home, celebrating his 1,000th NHL game with family and friends on hand to soak in the moment.
We go behind the scenes, from an early morning gift exchange, to the locker-room and after party to get a never-before-seen look at the festivities!

For a last place team the vibes are immaculate. Please trade everyone

Dumbest organization in the league. Rebuild you idiots
Seems like mostly valleys eh?
respect for Kadri
There's a reckoning coming for this organization. Mediocre for decades, run by a bunch of old, out of touch boomers who care more about fleecing the fans and the city of Calgary for every penny than building a proper team. You think the younger generation coming up is gonna cheer for this team? Half the city is already cheering for the Oilers. Give it 20 years and that new stadium will be a ghost town. They'll be begging for money like they were in 2000. Do the right thing and build a real team. The true fans will stick with you for a chance to see a half exciting game instead of the brutal, mind numbing trap nonsense they have to play right now. You've got a short leash here, don't mess it up

Nobody wants this propaganda from you. The revolution is starting

No way this franchise is so stupid that they would hold onto their aging verterans despite being dead last in the league right… right?
ill never spend money on this team again until Murray edwards and his donnie baloney are gone. they have kept this team truly mediocre in the mucky middle for my whole life. I've been a fan of this team for 30 yrs and they've been dogshit and never improving for that whole time. Even at this point at the bottom of the league with a real opportunity to sell and tank and draft high for years to build a true contender…. they still say the same bullshit. fuck this team
Fire Don Maloney
As long as don maloney is a part of this organization, I will never spent another cent on this team
