Sens Today: Zetterlund Prepares for First Game Back in San Jose

[Music] A quick turnaround, but the sends back on the ice in San Jose on Friday, gearing up for tomorrow afternoon’s tilt against the San Jose Sharks. Only about half the team skating today from the Sharks practice facility, but that did include Nicholas Matten Paulo, who left the game early yesterday, skating today with the group. Thomas Shabbat also out there taking full reps and Brady Kachchuck wearing his red non-cont jersey also out there with the group gearing up for the tilt tomorrow night. Overall, the sends looking to ride the momentum that they picked up last night while picking up the two points against the Ducks going into tomorrow night’s tilt against the Sharks. I think that we just got to bring our game, bring a full 60 and um you know, play fast and hard and um you know, go we go out there and do that, we’re going to have a good chance to win. We all feel like we’re we’re going good right now. Uh we fit each other really well and I mean we just kind of continue to to do that and we know it’s a long season, a lot of games left, but uh uh if we do the right things on a daily base like we we always do, uh we’re a fun group and uh we like to enjoy it together and I mean uh when we do that, we know we’re going to have success. A big day and a big trip as well for Fabian Zetland who returns to San Jose for the first time since being traded last March. I mean excited. Uh it’s going to be fun to play tomorrow and uh yeah like uh like I said it’s it’s excited to be back and I’m really really pumped. Zetherland also spoke about playing on that line alongside Lars Eller and Dylan Cousins and how that line and their individual skill sets help his play at five on five. He’s been around in the league for years. You know he knows how to handle pressure and stuff out there. Uh so uh definitely it’s easy to play with him. He’s a tank out there, you know. Uh, no, he’s he’s driving the puck really well through the middle and uh uh he’s having a really good shot, too. So, he likes to use it, which is good. And I mean uh uh for me, I just going to be at the net front and uh screen the goalie. And for Tyler Cleven, who scored his first NHL goal last year here in San Jose. He spoke about reliving that moment and the development of his game individually from that moment on in his NHL career. Yeah, it was a pretty special moment. like you work your whole whole life to, you know, score a goal in the NHL and um I mean, yeah, I mean it was pretty awesome to see them your action from my teammates as well. They know that uh you know how much that means to me and um yeah, hopefully we can do that again tomorrow. Yeah, just trying to get more comfortable as we, you know, play more games. And um understanding the systems and the structure of the NHL and um you know, I think that you know, the more games that I get, the more comfortable I you know, get back there and you know, try to make good breakouts and um try to you know, get good hits, too. And you know, that’s kind of grown over the the time that uh you know, I’ve played here. That all now leads into a big tilt tomorrow night. The second of the road trip coming up against the San Jose Sharks. For Sense 360, I’m Jackson Star.

The Senators held an optional skate this afternoon in San Jose. Jackson Starr catches up with forward Fabian Zetterlund as he gets ready for his first game back in San Jose.
