[Calgary Flames] Injury Update: Sam Honzek has underwent successful surgery and will be out up to six months.

1. This really fucking sucks. Honzek was one of the bright spots for me this season. I can’t even begin to imagine how awful Mikael Backlund must feel about this too.

2. Fuuuuuck. Really hoped he was over the injury hurdle, and now this.

   This is the worst time for his development to have this happen, only can hope it doesn’t stunt him too much.

5. I feel so bad for him. He was having such a good year in a year of very few bright lights. Means he’ll miss the Olympics too, which he was a for sure lock for Slovakia.

7. Slovakia and Sweden are in the same group at the Olympics. So I guess this is one way to help your team /s

8. Feels bad for Honzek as he was really coming into his own before the injury, but I guess a silver lining is if there’s a season to miss, this is the one.

   As a side note, Honzek also made history by being the first player to ever missed time after getting “hit” by Backlund /s
