The Chiefs have a Mahomes problem 🏈 #shorts

The underlying problem with the Kansas City Chiefs isn’t the weapons, defense, or coaching. It’s the fact that Patrick Mahomes has gone from superstar, who was showered in goat talk, to just slightly above average. The Denver game was the scariest example of what’s been going on all season. Mahomes opened with three shots to open receivers down the field and missed all three. Bad start, but it only got worse. Mahomes cruised down the field to start the second half only to throw one of the worst interceptions of his life. This was the play that ultimately flipped the game and sunk any remaining hope of catching Denver for the division. See, last year in these spots, Mahomes wasn’t getting outplayed by guys like Bo Knicks and must win games. He was doing what Josh Allen did vers Tampa, putting the team on his back and finding ways to win. It’s why they finished 12-0 in one-score games last year and are now a shocking 0 and5 this season. They’re officially on wild card watch, but the much larger problem is they don’t own any of the tiebreakers. They’ve lost straight up to three of the four teams ahead of them. Now, the athletics playoff simulator gives them just a 57% chance of making the playoffs, but let’s take it a step further. Next week, things can really get dicey. Jacksonville is now by far the most important team for Chiefs chance fans to root against. If they beat Arizona on Sunday, which they’re favored to do, and Casey falls to Indie, the Chiefs playoff chances sink all the way down to 36%. Now, of course, this could all flip if the opposite occurs, but it’s hard to imagine a world where that happens if we’re getting this Patrick Mahomes and not the do-it-all superstar from his first eight seasons. 1. Chiefs fans don’t want to acknowledge it, but he hasn’t been good enough. Blaming Nagy, lack of run game, or leaky defense late. The truth is he’s been inconsistent this season. If we make the playoffs it will be because HIS level rises and the team comes with him. Can’t wait to watch the last 7 games!!

  2. Haha the only difference last year is the refs gave them 8 of those wins last year. They can't do that anymore. Chiefs were terrible last year and this year.

  3. You said he wasn’t being outplayed by “guys like Bo Nix.” Is this another case of Bo Nix derangement syndrome? First of all, he was being outplayed by Bo Nix last year as well. His team just blocked the walk off field goal that Bo drove down the field perfectly to set up. Second of all, being outplayed by Bo isn’t as bad as you make it sound. Bo is an elite QB. Since entering the league he is 6th in wins, 7th in total yards, 5th in total touchdowns, 1st in game winning drives. He is 3rd in the NFL in big time throws. All while leading the league in drops by his WRs (26). Put some respect on his name.

  4. He's 2nd in epa, 3rd in qbr, 4th in yards, 5th in TDs. All while missing his WR1 for 6 games, WR2 for 3 games, LT for 4 games, having no RBs, bad play calling, and a 36 year old TE. Yall are so delusional with how you treat Patrick mahomes. He didn't get outplayed by no nix, he just didn't get credit for the 100 yards of passes from the DPIs. He was going against a top 2 defense, bo was going against a mediocre at best defense.

Josh Allen has been terrible this year and is worse than Patrick by a significant margin in almost every stat yet he can do no wrong even though he's got the best OL in the league.

  5. Honestly this is just who Mahomes is.

A good offense and good supporting talent makes any QB at this level look like a star. There are very few QBs who can be plopped on any team and be a star. Even when Brady changed teams, he retained the same offense and kept Gronk plus had good options on his new team. We exaggerate the star talent of most QBs.

  6. Pat Mahomes is the GOAT…when it comes to guys who beg for penalty flags by flopping on the ground. But to be serious, Pat is very talented, but he plays like a soccer player and if the next generation takes his lead, his real legacy will be ruining the integrity of the game.

  7. Hell be fine. Brady had the same treatment. So maybe he misses the playoffs for the first time in his entire career and suddenly he needs to be held accountable or something? I mean wtf are we talking about here. Im a niner fan btw

  8. There's no more McKinnon to throw it to in the flat on emergency passing downs. And like a few others have mentioned, 3rd and 1 is for Kareem Hunt, who only got the ball on one opportunity. Recievers are dropping half their passes and Kelce is…

Anyway Mahomes gets to screw up now and everyone else can prove they wanna be there too

  9. He has an older TE, he himself looks lazier than normal, less focused and he had similar issues last year. He's now missing a wr core that always got wide open and now since he looks lazier, he isnt scrambling the same way that made him fanous

  10. I think a lot of this was that the Eagles showed everyone that the Chiefs aren’t invincible. They demolished them and now other teams are seeing that you don’t have to play scared against this team. It’s a whole different mindset that teams approach the Chiefs game with this year. Last year, they were the invincible super team nobody wanted to face. This year, they are still a juggernaut and definitely not a team to slouch on, but beating them feels possible.

  11. No. This is incorrect. Mahomes has a 72 qbr 3 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio and 95 passer rating. All of which would net you Hall of fame if you did that for 10 years. Op is clueless. Kc has a young online declining personnel, a tough schedule, tough division, questionable play calling and has lost All their games by like one score save one I believe. They could easily be leading the AFC rn.
