Mets BLOCKBUSTER Trade Coming? | New York Mets | Corey Seager | Mets Hot Stove | Mets News | MLB

What’s up Mets fans? Welcome back to the channel as we got some more blockbuster potential trades possibly in the making and this time it involves our New York Mets and the Texas Rangers guys. So before we get into that guys, hit that like button, subscribe to the channel, and it involves Corey Seager, obviously World Series champion, shortstop, really, really, really, really good career, obviously with the Dodgers, then signed a massive deal with the Texas Rangers. And this is a guy that always was a really damn good player. Really good shorts stop. You know, 30 home runs, 30 plus home runs every year, just great defense. This is a lot of things that everybody liked about Corey Seager. But the issue with Corey Seager is the massive contract he still has, which is six years, $189 million left on that contract. And this is something where you can look at it and be like, is it worth that contract to trade for him in the later end of his career? That is what you have to look at if you’re the New York Mets. But because this has been reported over the last day or two that the Rangers are clearly trying to shop Corey Seager where who knows we’ll get into his contract. We’ll get into the details of where he could go, where he could not go. And the Mets name has come involved in this Corey Seager situation. And it always had me wondering why why would they go that route? You got a guy like Alex Bregman who I think is more is they’re very different players but very similar in the same where they’re clutch. They had really good careers postseason uh great performances and that’s what you want. But with Corey Seager, he’s been injured the last couple of seasons. That’s also another thing they have to worry about as well, taking on that massive contract. But it is how would you get Cory Seager to the New York Mets? That is the key. And the other report is, well, what about a one forone swap with Brandon NMO? Now, I’m all for getting rid of NMO. I’m all on board with that. 100% on board with that, guys. And I’m not going to cry in my pillow because Brandon Emmo is gone. I am not. It’s just that would it work? The Texas Rangers are clearly trying to shed payroll. You’re not trading Corey Seager because you want to get a massive prospect all back because the only way they’re going to get that is if they take on a massive amount if not all of the contract. That is not going to happen. The Mets aren’t trading prospects and not taking in any of the contract to bring in a over 30-year-old Corey Seager. Doesn’t make sense. So then you look at this report of a possible trade for a one for one swap between Seager and Brandon NMO. This is fine player for player. I do this in a heartbeat. Seeker is a better defender. You can move him on move him to third base which he hasn’t played a lot of. He’s played six games with the Los Angeles Dodgers at third base predominantly a shorts stop. He started four games at third base and played six in total at third base with the Los Angeles Dodgers. So, you are moving a shortstop, which you never usually worry about shorts stops going from second base to third base because they just seem to have that knack of being an an athlete, being agile, the way they can play those type of positions. But it is still concerning. You’re moving a guy that’s played shortstop his entire career to third base. I don’t believe this is an A-Rod situation going from Shawsto to third base when he got traded from the Rangers to the Yankees different. And that that is when you have to really wonder why would the Mets do that? Because looking deeper into all of this, the more important thing here is the contracts. And we’re going to look at Brandon NMOS right now. Brennan Nemo’s contract is looking really bad at the moment. He’s got five years left on his deal and it’s not pretty. It’s not pretty at all. He has five years, $12.5 million left on his deal. That’s concerning for the New York Mets. We know why they want to trade Brandon Nmo. because he’s not the same player that they thought they signed him to. He’s not a center fielder. He’s a totally different hitter, even though the Mets seemed to like his power, which I think it kind of messed up the entire construction of this lineup when he decided to tell Brandon Nmo to hit more home runs because you don’t know where to hit these guys. NMO was a lead off hitter. McNeel was a lead offer. Now they’re trying to hit home runs and you basically don’t have a leadoff hitter even though Lindor is our leadoff hitter right now. Wouldn’t it look nicer if Lindor is batting second or third instead of first? You can extend your lineup more, but you can’t do that with Nemo and McNeel because they they think they can hit home runs all the time now. And that ultimately hurt the construction of this lineup. So, I’m not going to miss Nemo. He’s terrible defensively. He has no arm. So, it’s not the player for player swap. I take Cory Seagull over Brandon NMO 10 times out of 10. The issue is what we’re looking at right here. five years he has 102.5 million left on Brendan NMO’s contract. He he also has a full no trade clause which is uh something that is a problem. But I still don’t believe that these rumors are coming about Brandon Mo being on a possible availability list that we heard about a week ago that Brandon NMO didn’t give the okay to say all right these are the teams I’m willing to go to. I don’t think it would have went out there like that. I don’t think it would have got leaked like that. The Mets don’t leak nothing. So with the $102.5 million for five more years for Brandon NMO and let’s say it is a one for one stop Seager for NMO. Well, guess what guys, Corey Seager has a hell of a contract as well. And with Corey Seager, it looks like this. It’s also not good. So Corey Seager got six more years left on his deal. Six at $32.5 million. And he also has $189 million left on his six-year contract. That is around $86.5 million more than what Brandon NML is making right now plus one more year of Cory Seager to make it a sixyear $189 minimum million dollars left on that deal. There’s the problem. The Mets aren’t saving money. Now, I don’t Maybe they’re not trying to save money. Maybe they’re trying to find a way to get NMO off this team and to get a solid player in Corey Seager here. You solve your third base position. You can put Brett Batty at second base. That solves your infield up until first base because you got Alvarez as your catcher. Your first base is up in the air, but that gives you time to figure out Alonzo or whatever else you might want to do with um first base. But the Mets aren’t saving money here. The only way this works, does the Texas Rangers, this is where it gets interesting, does the Texas Rangers want to take on a Brandon NMO contract because they’re saving $86.5 million and one less year of Brandon NMO. So they are saving money but they’re still paying 20 plus million dollars for Brandon NMO for the f next five years which is five years $102.5 million for Brandon Imo. So do they want to save 86 plus million or hoping to get somebody to take the entire contract and give a prospect or two? I’m not willing to give the prospect or two. If the Mets don’t care about the money, I don’t care about the money. I care about the player and what they can do. I think Corey Seager would be a better fit for this team than Brandon NMO. And I know Met fans are gonna get a little mad about this, but it’s a fact. Now, a lot of Met fans have been falling out of favor with Brandon NMO, but some say, “Well, look at the numbers. How can he replace that?” Well, in the 121 games this year, he hit, you know, he didn’t play a lot of games this year. He hit 21 home runs. He had what, four home runs less than Corey Seager or than Brennan NMO and he played less games than Brennan NMO. So you’re going to get the power from Cory Seager. You’re probably going to get between 25 to 30 home runs as long as he stays healthy. You got a very good glove and yes, he’ll be moving to third base, but I don’t think that would be too much of a problem. The issue is also he’s got to make sure that he can, you know, not get injured. But that’s a risk. Are you risking that by this trade is a strong possibility, Mets fans. But here’s the thing. Would I make this trade in a heartbeat, player for player, if the Mets don’t care about the money, I don’t care about the money. Am I willing to take the six years, $189 million left on a contract? 100%. You know why? because I think Corey Seagga fits this team better than Brandon NMO. I said this for a couple years. Brandon NMO just doesn’t seem to fit in this lineup. You don’t know where to put him. He’s not a cleanup hitter. He’s not a number five hitter. He should be a leadoff hitter or a number two hitter, but you can’t put him there because you got Soda and Lindor. So, NMO is in no man’s lane with this lineup. It it the construction of this lineup was terrible with Brandon NMO. It shakes the It shakes the core of this team up depending on what happens to Alonzo. You shake the NMO Allonzo group in and you break it up a little bit. And I think that’s why I like this deal because I like Corey Seager and not a big fan of Brandon NMO. Really doesn’t have nothing to do with it. It’s just the fact I think Seager’s a better player. Seer’s more of a clutcher player. Seager’s better defensively. There’s a lot of pluses there, especially when David Sterns talks about run prevention. NMO doesn’t do any of that. Run prevention is non-existent with Brandon NMO, but Corey Seager, it exists. That is what David Sterns has preached over and over and over again. Run prevention. Cory Seager does that defensively. And he also, he has that pop at the bat, 25 to 30 home runs. If you can keep this guy healthy, he’ll bet 275 280. He’ll probably get you 80 to 85 to 90 RBI’s. You’re basically getting numbers that Brandon NMO would give you probably less strikeouts, but you get the better defense. Now, is that willing to take on 858$86 million in an extra year for Cory Seager? That is something that the Mets have to decide. But if they don’t care about the money, I do that in a heartbeat. Especially you can just give up NMO and nothing else. I do that in a heartbeat. So Met fans, I’m going to ask you, would you do this one for one deal, Seager for NMO contract swapped? The Mets will have to pay $86.5 million plus the one year of Seagar if they give NML to the Texas Rangers. I would do that deal. Let me know in the comments, guys, what you think and what you would do this deal. Yes or no, guys. I want to thank you guys for watching and as always, Met fans, let’s go Mets.
