Bolduc has 7 points (4-3) in 20 games and averaging ~13.5 minutes. 3 points in his last 17 games (1-2).
Give Mailloux some time and sheltered minutes to get his legs under him. He was scoring in the AHL.

Unrelated to the cost of acquisition, I think we’re a worse team with him.

Lets give the kid a real shot.
What we have isn’t working.
He needs to come up and stay up to develop. It’s seemingly a lost year. Keep him up and let him develop in the NHL. Clearly he doesn’t have much more to prove in the AHL. Was scoring when he just went down and is also a 2x AHL All-Star.
We are not making the playoffs. Play the kid give him 15 mins per game. He is going to struggle most likely a lot but he needs to learn.
We need to actually give him ice time, let him gain confidence at the NHL level, and let him get chemistry with his pairing. Monty playing him one game then immediately sitting him the next is a fucking waste of time. Both with Mailloux and with Skinner. Kessel gives up D zone turnovers like they’re candy and Tucker isn’t much better. Use the year to develop the kids.
Give the kid some PP time. Let’s see what we have. We know his not a shutdown defenseman (yet), but his skating ability is elite for a man of his size, and we could use a little dynamism on our stagnant PP. Let’s see if he can lead the breakout.
We need to give him a shot at a PP unit. He’s an offensive defenseman so let’s put him somewhere he might succeed and get a few points. Maybe then he can get a little confidence that will show up on the defensive side
