Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul is retiring after this season – his 21st campaign in the NBA. Paul is a 12-time All-Star, an 11-time member of All-NBA teams, a selection to the 75 greatest players list, nine-time All-Defense and the 2006 Rookie of the Year.

Thank you for everything, franchise GOAT!

  1. Seeing this clippers team of old man trying to play basketball really put the nail in the coffin for him

It’s like he finally could see his own reflection of how bad things got

  2. The point god. Well deserved.

Wish he could get traded for a better chance at a championship.

  3. Hell of a ride Chris. Despite all the clowning he gets online, he is locked for the Hall of Fame and one of the best point guards that has played the game.

I will always be bummed we couldn’t get it done in 2018…

  4. However this season pans out, Im glad he’s retiring a Clipper. Helped turn the franchise around.

  5. I think he should have said goodbye last year after the campaign with us, but I understand why he just thought he could eek out one more year and still be close to his family.

  6. Great career, had opportunities to win it all but wether it be injuries, Giannis or age it just never happened

  7. 12 All‑Stars, 11 All‑NBA nods, 9 All‑Defensive selections… the résumé speaks for itself. Enjoy every moment of the farewell tour.

  8. What a career. Knew this was coming at some point. Hated this man for many years until last year, had a great season despite his age with us.

  9. He made a big impact for the Spurs in his 20th season and played every game. That’s a big accomplishment for a small guard, he has had a great career.

  10. His wandering floor raiser ronin era to end his career deserves to be a career highlight among everything else

  11. He’s one of the greatest basketball players ever

I don’t mean in terms of GOAT debate, I mean there have been about 5000 NBA players ever and CP3 is in the top 1% of them

Was also a winning above average NBA player and a hell of a lot more from 2005 until about 2023 which at his height is basically unfathomable

  12. LeBron (deservedly) gets props for his longetivity but people forget that CP3 is mere *months* behind him in the race. 40 years old, and played 82/82 games last season. He’s been out of the conversation in the last few years because of his obvious decline, but once the dust has settled he’ll be remembered as one of the greats.

Looking forward to him dominating the “best players to never win a ring” discussions among the nephews.

  13. He gave us some hilarious moments from telling DJ to shoot the ball to jumping on Dwight’s back “take me with you to the next round”

  14. If the Clippers had a decent small forward at *any* point he was there he might have a chip. I truly believe that.

  15. Kind of wild he played all 82 games at 28 mpg last season and was still fairly useful. He legit fell off a cliff this season but he’s also 40 and very few players have ever played any sort of meaningful basketball after turning 40.

  16. Does this mean he can finally pursue his true passion of selling insurance? Love this for him.

  17. Am I crazy or did we not know this before the season started? I could’ve sworn this was already announced as his last season unless I’m thinking of someone else
