Has anybody heard anything about his recovery? Will he be back? When? What happens with him and Rittich?

I love Varly. He was a huge part of making this team fun to watch again. I want him to be happy and healthy. I want that for any player who puts on the blue & orange & and gives his best.

With that out of the way..What do we do if/ when he does come off IR? Like I said, put on the sweater & give your best. Big Save Dave has earned a measure of respect now too. I don't know if handing the back up job to Varly and sending Dave to Bridgeport is the right thing to do.

  1. Thought he wouldn’t be back until towards the end of the season. TBH we aren’t doing to bad without him. Rittich has been great for what we got him for

  2. Imo, Varly should just retire. He’s almost 38 and he’s obviously still struggling with the injury to the point where he’s nowhere near ready to go. Why push himself to get back on the ice when it could potentially lead to a worse issue in the long term for the rest of his life?

  3. Except Sorokin and Rittich are in top form and bringing in a cold and rather aged goaltender might be a bad idea given what’s transpired here over November and late
October. Should we really screw with a seemingly winning combo at this point?

  4. Varly has served his time on the island but I do think he should retire. No use in coming back with his injuries.

  5. He was great for us, but I’m not sure how anyone doesn’t think he’s done. At his age, it’s very unlikely he ever plays again after this injury.
