Yes, there’s benefits to going under center. Does anyone here have concrete stats about how Flacco has done in shotgun vs. under center? It’s odd to me how much of this narrative about why Flacco is succeeding compared to Burrow seems to rely on a rather fluky last five minutes of the Bears game that netted 180 yards and 2 TDs…all coming from shotgun.
On the season, Flacco has been *far* better out of shotgun and does it a lot more (60 total under center passes), but I don’t know the breakdown from his time here vs. Cleveland. Chase Brown has been a bit better running from under center, but was just as good running out of shotgun last year.
Burrow is amazing but we now see he does have a flaw and it’s not being versatile enough in what formations he will operate under.
Oh great, it’s the “under center” topic for the millionth time this season. Hadn’t seen it brought up in a while but glad to see it come back
