Canucks are now currently 3rd in the draft lottery

  1. Ivar Stenberg is legit

Ivar Stenberg now has the best Points Per Game rate in SHL history among draft eligibles:

    I. Stenberg: 0.95

    D. Sedin: 0.84

    P. Forsberg: 0.74

    H. Sedin: 0.69

Still a long season, but promising signs

  2. Honestly, if they can get a pick anywhere in the top 3, all 3 of those players are going to be franchise players.

  3. Dealing Kane, Sherwood, Hughes should result in at least another 1st and 2nd (Hughes should bring a haul). This is a good draft class so let’s kick this partial rebuild into high gear!

  4. Don’t worry, the Nucks will win 8 out of their last 10 games to barely miss the playoffs and draft 14th as usual

  5. Canucks Luck that this Center drafted is not good too. But I guess they need everything at this point.

  6. well late November historically canucks will go on a stupid win streak till Christmas, be in the playoffs then in January, February, and March forget how to play just enough we finish in the teens of the draft and miss the playoffs be 4 ish points

  7. For some reason I keep having a premonition that we will finish the season towards the bottom of the barrel and win the odds. I know everyone rolls their eyes at this… but… we’re due

  8. if we’re getting Verhoeff, I sure hope that we at least make up for drafting elite forwards with later draft picks from trading Sherwood, Kane, and Hughes, or the Hughes trade gives us some good forward prospects back

  9. Not good enough! #1 or bust!

(We’ll normally bust because of a hot streak in March that turns it into a 12th overall pick, but still …)

  10. I’d be over the moon on the Stenberg pick tbh. Sedin level production in the SHL as a an 18 year old

  11. The oilers will get 1st overall somehow. They’ll place 7th and get first overall. I’m calling it.

  12. The other day on Canucks talk former scout Jason Bukula (sp?) was really pumping Stenberg’s tires along with Drancer. I don’t pretend to know anything about any of these guys, but it sounds like the top 3 are all pretty incredible.

  13. Ahh yes, I see we are entering the almost annual dream of a high pick phase of the season. Soon to be followed by optimism that ‘maybe they can get in’ to the playoffs. Finally, culminating in the mushy middle where we cling to our 3.5% chance of 1st overall.

  14. You must not be aware of the previous results of our lottery luck. The blueberry man is nothing but bad luck.

  15. 30th in the league but 3 wins from a playoff spot and being top 3 in the division lol wtf is this league? Too many shit mid teams rn

  16. God damn I really don’t want mcdavid, celebrini, and McKenna in our division. We’re doomed

  17. You guys know if we actually tanked, like literally got last and lost every game, we’d somehow “get awarded” like 10th in the lottery draft.

As opposed to going on a heater late in the season at pick like 15th

  18. I said this before, but people overestimate the sample size at Thanksgiving.

.500 is statistically recoverable, but it cannot be any lower. The streaks they would need to start putting together to recover start straying a lot further into statistcal outliers, even for good teams.

A loss to the Flames tomorrow puts them so much deeper into that high-unlikelihood area, that it should decide the season, imo.
