NHL Highlights | Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens | November 22, 2025

Three points shy of 400. Frank they go strict the
game strict right off the hop. Yeah, you know it’s a Saturday night in Montreal. The head coaches
not delaying. Get the matchup started. Big game for both these teams. But swings that ahead.
There’s Sammy played wide. Lorent is in. Takes the shot. Doish knocks that back into the corner.
Lton trying to play it ahead. Does McMahon with a chip to Easton Cowan and Mat cuts him off. Cowan
cuts to the middle. The cave fired right on. Nice stop by Doic and the rebound play to the boards.
Another example of Cowan just that little extra confidence to hang on to that puck. Good stops and
starts and then McCabe getting the good chance off of him. Here’s Nick Robertson played by Mabe up
to Doy over the line. It’s Robertson handing it off and shot his shot humbled there. got another
chance and the jam play on the line is covered by Dovish. Sort of energy comes off the bench, gets
a good head of steam and grabs that rebound. Look at how far Dovish goes past his post. And that was
a good read by Joshua. You see the goalender about a foot and a half outside and he just beats him
there. That left pad getting right against that post. Canadians appear to be responding physically
here tonight. Here’s Ben in his 300th NHL game. across for Dobson. So not quite playing for
free but maybe close to him and happy to do so. Absolutely. Tamarz back to Ecman. Larson
gets it back to Tamaris. He’ll put it on goal. Has never scored against the Canadians in a
regular season game. Joe Vento on the move. Here’s Valento has that over by Joshua along
the boards. moved ahead and a quick lead feed for Gallagher and Roll off the blocker. Get into
the corner as Brendon Gallagher looks to score in back to back. Tried to come out of the corner.
Knocked off his stick by Ekman Larson. Davidson pounded there by Doy following up Robertson
but back the other way. Gallagher again and W will shut that down. Matvaris tried to put it in
front. Bouncing puck there and Dander gets it back to the line. McCabe with a shot from the point
that gets through. Lorent plays it back towards Morgan Riley. Machelli up ahead and here goes
Lorent working his way in on the back hand and swivels that off a stick. William Knander watched
there by Kerier down low. Gets a return feed from Tavaris. Yarn jokes in the slot. Tvaras with a
chance back in off the post. It’s stayed out. Had time and continued to the net. Close call.
Morgan Riley’s got it. His shot up off Doish. The Montreal defenders. Look at backing up. So why
not just take what you’re given? And that goes off the post and off Anderson and somehow doesn’t
end up into the net. Oh, it hit the stick. It didn’t even hit the post and then bounce down. The
dream matchup if you were a kid, especially on a Saturday night. Here’s McCabe is checked on the
play by Cfield. Back the other way with Gallagher and Suzuki. Cole Cfield hangs on. Suzuki scores.
Lane Hudson has the ice breaker tonight. End of it. Just forced to back off the line. Creates a
little open ice. And here you got Stetcher and Gallagher going hard at each other. That little
spin around by Gallagher. It’ll be an interesting decision here for Craig Faru. Do you call goender
interference? Can you definitively play back to Eman Larson from yard? Riley can’t come up with
that. Then it’s stops it in deep. Takes a lap in the lead zone. Kick back to Mat watched
by Knander. Doson ready to fire it. Scores. He gets on the back door. But now you’ve got two
defenders who are just so mobile. Both Mat and Dobson circling, supporting each other. The end
result, look at the screen in front. It’s Morgan Riley really standing on the doorstep that gets
into the eyes of Joseph Wall. This one’s a bit of a knuckle puck. And you can see Wall’s reaction.
He did not even move or see that puck until he heard it in the net. You got Kappa and down to
the final 20 seconds of the power play. Doson hits Suzuki on this left leg in the middle and
counted it high and wide. Just can’t quite get it. Saucer pass to the middle and Wall gets a bit
of the elbow. Weren’t able to cash enough of him in. Here comes Bobby McMahon driving the lane as
Lton. McMahon from a sharp angle. Jack eye ahead. That’s off a stick and one last chance maybe
for Knander, but he can’t get through. Steov, he’s just misses at the horn. A bit of
a threeon two there. Lots of gap between the defenseman and DD off. And there’s the
reaction on the bench. The last second shot to Hermas for Ster and he’ll bounce it ahead
at center. Kappa and knocks it right back in. And Ster McMahon was heading off but
just jumped over the boards and avoided touching that puck. Slowski down
low. Another one for Noah Johnson. You don’t get the puck in. A bad
change. Now you’re gapped. Once again, an easy entry. And here’s where the problem lies.
That easy entry opens up so many lanes. Mermis is tired. He tries to stand up at Slapovski. And
just a beauty of a touch pass back. You could see the frustration building. Battlefield cycles
out of the corner. A pass in front denied by McKe. Cfield Suzuki. McKe trying to prevent the pass.
Cfield Suzuki and Walls got that. Great saves by Joseph Wall. Little physicality by McCabe,
but then he’s late getting back inside. One, two passes later. Approaching the 8minute mark of
the second period. And it’s the old Canadians in the second is slow the stop predictable and you
think okay you get the zone you’re going to stop up watch he just takes what he gives way to the
outside as there which opens up that lane just one little move to the outside then gets set for
the shot and Hudson across and in front and oh stopping Slowsky in the slot Canadians extending
the power play opportunity here it’ll be Derry do to the back Oh, little stop there. I think
taking it by himself and then pass after pass through the scene. Everybody’s touched the puck
on this sequence as Suzuki creates braces gives it off to Hudson across that reach Slowski.
They keep it alive for Cfield. Hudson again stop and the man comes off and finally play
stopped the wall looks back. That one on Suzuki. Here’s the last shot. Hit him right in the side
of the mask and came Dobson. Suzuki unable to one time that not in the wheelhouse. Tap here right
on rebound and he can’t right to left. You got to look to see where the threat is. He gets square
to that shot, but a good job in front by Gallagher to keep it alive and Wall able to get that left
pad. Watch how quickly Gallagher’s on top of it, but then the left pad just got down in time. Man,
he had tied up in behind the net. Lost that puck and it’s Mat trying to jam it. Gets his own
rebound back to Ker and across to Dobson. Raj Anderson shots up over the
shoulder of Wall and it’s four nothing just winning all the puck battles. Wall can’t
get that one in to stop the play. Jagai moves it around and from a tough angle. You’d see Wall
was already down and I just think partly is just some of the exhaustion. He’s expecting maybe a
lower shot right off the shoulder, off the body. flipped ahead and away goes Benois
over the line. Knander holds on and now downhill. Cowan in the slot. Eman
Larson scores. Oliver Ecman Larson gives the leaf life with gold. Number three on the
season. Totally against you. Here’s another example. This time it’s the Canadians back
off the line. Now you got some crisscross, some traffic in front with Tavvaris. A
little push and shove as he’s fighting in the front of the net with Dobson. And you
could see the reaction to Dobas. He’s worried Cowan as knandered knocked down in the corner.
Here’s Ken. Eman Larson in front and then off the post with the slapper. And the one thing
you talked a lot about Oliver Ecman Larson, he’s not afraid to do that. just get it to
the net because clearly put this game over. Riley bumps it back to Machelli. Here’s
Matias. Machelli over the line. Cowan’s out there. Knander. And now Hillary to the
bench. Doy comes on as the extra attacker. It’ll be Riley across. Knander snaps
and scores. Power play goal. It’s 42. Well, you wonder why Marty St. Luise so upset
cuz he knows exactly what an influence that could have on the game. Fight from your young
player and just continue playing on. Instead, you get a opportunity for the Leafs here.
Doi does a good job getting in front and it’s right through the legs. Watch the
release of Knander. His head up the whole way. The shooting lane’s taken away,
but he goes through the legs of Anderson. on the play. Here’s Robertson trying
to work his way up. Michael Mat off the feet of Robertson and Josh Anderson will
nail it. Second of the game for Anderson. And that’ll put it on ice. Just in
the neutral zone. Little backhand pass off the board. Bounces right to him and a
spinama right in the center of the net there. That was fun. The Canadians are going to win their 11th of the year and just their second in
the last 11 head-to-head against Toronto.

  1. If it wasn't for John Woll, Habs would've easily scored 7 or 8 goals. He made such big saves especially on the PP but felt like the defense rarely ever provided enough help for him

  2. This is the Habs we saw in the first 15 games – we played with character. I was so bummed out they rolled over last game.

Felt like Marty and Florian’s call up also reminded them to play with some fire in their belly.

  3. We didn't beat Leafs A team , but a win is win and it was well deserved and badly needed .glad to finally see Florian instead of Roy. Monty should be traded as soon as possible . Habs goalie duo this season would go through Dobes and Kahkunnen , until Fowler is ready next season
