NHL Highlights | Lightning vs. Capitals | November 22, 2025

Alex with tallies in four straight games watching
as Gourd and Stro take the opening draw. There’s Yon Shio Hansen in goal for Tampa Bay. Surprise
starter. First time he’s ever met the Washington Capitals. Well, Vasilki’s not done great. I know
he’s been redhot recently, but the team as a whole has not played very well here at Capital One
Arena. So, a little change between the pipes. Bollier jams it along for Ovuchkin through center
and he’ll carry wide looking to Bollier once more to Stro. Right in tight there did not finish
middle. Here’s to Bollier across to Stro and the ripper to the blocker. Good save there early on
for their goalender. What a pass. Jonas Johansson who turned 30 back in September now in his ninth
season. welltraveled net minder. Just hadn’t bumped into the caps yet prior to tonight. Another
pitch save rebound. Score. Sort on the doorstep and the inside the first four or five minutes.
Great draw. Great hunt of the puck to get it to the point. And there’s the shot by Wilson in
front. Sort of gets inside position on their D and puts it home. Sort of around the net, sets up in
front and no opportunity for them to back behind the cage. 67 in the white is Dean Carile. Turnover
here. Frank with a backhand and Johansson smothers that an AV power play for Washington. Spencer
Carvery talking about the power play still being a work in progress even after it posted a couple of
goals in Montreal but not through the normal power play setups. Hegel short-handed has tied it. What
happened there is the forwards and D were too far apart and when Hegel got the puck in the neutral
zone, he had too much room to operate as the Caps D were way inside their blue line as points. His
15th game is 10 points. Look at the gap there. Notice that the line is given up because they
were thinking the puck was transitioning. They get caught in the neutral zone. You have
Stro back. You have Carlson back. Dylan Stro, a daddy now for the third time. Three daughters
in the Stro family. Cross. I sort of can’t save Johansson. Five on four for another 19
seconds. Set it and fire. That’s whistled high and wide. Gets away from Cooerov but
doesn’t clear Radish. Cooerov cross ice. deflected by Prous. Cooper up one timer inside
of the post. Rebound score. A layup and Tampa Bay with a couple of special teams goals and a
two-1 lead. Able to get the lead. Here’s the pass to the point. The pass to Cutrop off the post and
the goalender nor the forward or the defenseman could recover to help out their goalender. And
he’s got a wide open net. You can see Logan, he did not know where that puck went off the post.
It came out the other side. He was trying to find it along with Carlson in Villier downhill. Now
Mcichael gets top side blocked. Rebound loose. One more pass. Ryan Leonard swivels away from Destu.
Nick Paul says hello to Sunonny Milano. Gonalves returns it to Paul with an angle to shoot. Snapped
out of the air by Logan Thompson. He’ll hold. separating us from Capital’s intermission line.
On a night, Russ Taylor, Alan May, and Brent Johnson are reminding the store here in DC. Paggel
winds and fires and rips it upstairs. They bullet. Cut is a great player. And here
you’ll see him fumble the puck, but it actually works out to perfection
because it lands right on Hegel’s stick. He’s a Capitals in front and then the puck
rolled off his stick and it rolled right to Hegel and Hegel just pounds it. He’s walking
right up the gut. There’s the misplay. He’s trying to pass the puck. His pass doesn’t go
where it wants but it ends up on the stick of his teammate Hegel who just drills it there.
You see the top corner shot. Milano booses this along. La Pierre with a stick handling puts it
out wide for Leonard. Leonard from a bad angle had that one stopped and covered by Johansson.
Van Reamike for cross ice. Van Ream lets this one go. Blocked by Hegel Charuard Dw for Hegel
sending in on the breakaway. Cooerov. He scores. Yep. Coocher hung behind everybody and snaps
that one home. from a beautiful pass up the ice after the intercept and went over two
lines and found Cooerov all alone. Here’s a look at the play. The block shot gets
the puck, throws it back up to the wing and there’s the socks through the legs of
TBR. Finds Coov in stride and that is some release. That is a superstar release. He’s
won the Art Ross for a reason the last two seasons. There he buries it. It’s four to one
and the caps will change hem minders. Charlie Lingren coming off the frame. It’s a free
six piece McNugget for you with a minimum $1 purchase the very next day on the McDonald’s
app. Frank Bad angle rejected by Johansson on the move. Carlson feeds for Wilson. Fagles
around Gore. Czech looking for ankin rocket. Stepping out on the angle is Johansson as we’ve
crossed the four-minute mark of the second. Alexe Pro for Sort. Sord fires. Kick out save
and cover for Yonis Johansson. Laierre check down low here. Just boosted over top by
Bilier. Now the caps are coming. They’ve established their for check here early
in the second. Anthony Bilier locked in on Dw. He didn’t get it out. Deflection
score. The bounces go Washington’s way. The capsule taken. Here’s Ticker. Quick spinama.
It comes off the top guy’s skate and into the net. No chance for the goalender. One more look.
There’s the skate and there’s the puck in the back of the net. You see number 90 floating around in
there trying to get out there to make that play. That’s Moser, the defenseman, right off his skate
and right into the top corner. Looked like the blocked off by Mcichael. Celli gets wide. Gensel
te’s it up. Put it on a platter there for Hegel as Lingren makes a save in the cover as Carlson
sends it to the flank for Wilson. Wilson a touch pass. Beautiful work down low. Kick out save.
Will Hansen a dazzler on Carlson out there to put a crunch on it. Lightning with a long feed for
Hegel. Hegel closing. Ripper right on to Lindren with a pad save looking for the hat-tick. He’s
got a sneaky release. Sandina on a take back for Washington. Threeon three through center. Sandine
venturing wide cross ice to Boilier. Bollier for Ovetkin. A snap shot that’s gloved and held by
Johansson. Sandine relieves it. Works Washington back. Four on three. Mcichael to the front.
Poke check waiting. The net minder Johansson. Caps with possession for Carlson. Snap shot
padded away. Big rebound down low and Laierre just missed. And that’s been the story of his
season. He gets a lot of quality chances. He needs one to get it going here. It was a fine
pass from Sunny Milano. Back come the Lightning with Douglas on the interchange. Churnack. He
elevates looking for point. No sail. Caps with it. Frank threeon two developing with Carlson. A
rocket stopped by Johansson. Snap shot from Proise that didn’t get through on the run comes
James. Odden man rush. James fires kick out save by Lindren. To get away Charlie Lindren maintains
this as a two. It belongs to Washington. Stro a lengthy feed. Ouchin’s in. Ouchin fires. Stop.
rebound and Yodson covers. Stopped once and then twice. Barely see breakaways. Here’s the
pass over two different sticks including the last defender which was Moser. He couldn’t
catch it and Alex Ovkin gets one and then two whacks at that puck. There’s one. There’s two
and Johansson has it covered perfectly down low. Michigan screaming at himself as he hit
centering pass the slot area that’s coraled by Tampa Bay but not clear. Frank settles and
fires. He scores. Ethan Frank is hot as a pistol. Exactly what the doctor ordered and Capital
One Arena is in a frenzy coming off a two plus two game in Montreal’s best game ever as a pro.
Rips it far side. Talk about grabbing that puck, putting it on the heel of his stick and
just ripping it and the goalender no chance to pick it up. Johansson late coming
across starts as a little bit of a turnover. Milano will get an assist because that puck
came off and suddenly it’s noisy inside a Capital One Arena. Turnover here. Leonard
feeds. McCel fires. Rebound doorstep. No. Radish for Tampa Bay through center. Been the
memory man. Twoon two centering pass back in here. Kick out save. Rebound Lren follow up at the
doorstep is touched home. Cerelli after the Cavs looked they like they put and pulled a rabbit
out of their hat. Yeah, they got a lucky bounce was involved. Here’s Densel’s play coming across
throwing it off the pads. It bounces out. It hits everybody in front of the net and then Celli
is able to bounce on the biscuit in the paint to push it past the goalender. Look, Charlie
Lindren and there’s the puck being knocked in. No chance for Lynden to recover on this play.
The big rebound causes problems. It hits Chickin in front. Doesn’t backboards Hegel upset in the
corner by Wilson. Chrome curls one topside down low spin. Oh, great stop there. Johansson on
checkin all night long. Ever since the Caps got behind. Here he is in front. Spins it. Tries to
go five hole along the ice and Johansson has the answer in front of the net. Great flexibility
doing his Andre Bazalefki impression. Final 10 seconds of the game. Lightning in the lead.
Lightning going to get out of here with a win. This is wide to the goal. The remaining time
expires. Tampa Bay prevails by the final of 53.

  1. Not the best game for my Bolts but it looks like the lines are finally starting to gel, and the new guys are fitting in. One big win and we're in first place. I'm confident we're just going to get better as the season progresses. GBG!! ⚡⚡
