Kellen Moore previews game vs. Atlanta Falcons | New Orleans Saints

We’ll start with the roster. Medically, um Cooks will be out for personal. Um questionable guys will be Tally with the ankle, Alvin with the ankle, and Barry with the hip. Other than that, we’re all uh ready to roll. Is there a contract issue? Yeah, they’re just finalizing the contract portion of it. Just working, you know, with the league just to make sure everything’s uh all good to go for all parties. You guys have an agreement to sign off on it? Just Yeah, just working through everyone. everyone working through that. Will you replace? Yeah, potentially. Yeah. Yeah. As this thing progresses. Yeah. Falcons nearly half their snaps. Yeah. What are some of the challenges? What are the keys to handling a team that sends out pressure? Yeah, I think um you know the communication part of it obviously is critical. Uh they’re they’re bringing at least five and in a lot of scenarios. Um they make a lot of adjustments late in your cadence and so for guys to adjust to that quickly is is important. You know, Kaden does a really good job of playing off the ball and he’s on the ball. You got to be able to be coordinated and communicate, make sure everyone understands the responsibilities and um you know, they’re going to stress your protection plan on third downs. They’re going to do a lot of things to stress it, put a time clock on you. uh five and sixman type pressures and so it’ll be a fun challenge. How have you seen Tyler handle extra pressure at this? Yeah, I felt like last week obviously was a good example or two weeks ago I should say was a good example. I thought he handled it well. Uh again it’s about everyone being coordinated and being on the same page. the way you drive close. Did you find inspiration in the way that he’s played in some of those situations? It was really a short yardage package that we had and we just just kept with it more and more as the game progressed and certainly that last drive and so something we can, you know, probably lean into and he he’s been really good at. How do you feel about chances. Next question. Yeah, we’ll see. Um, obviously he was limited today. Yesterday he was able to get out there and so we’ll see how it progresses. I think, you know, you got to see how a body responds to all this workload. Is he one of those guys you’ve had a couple things this year situation? Yeah, we’ll see. We’ll we’ll talk with the medical staff, you know, tomorrow morning. Kind of see how today he responds to everything and see what the status is for for Sunday. has become one of the better running backs in this league. What do you feel like is the thing that makes him stand out? Yeah, explosive ability uh in the run game and the pass game. I think he’s just got he’s got a really cool balance of when he sees it, it’s a one cut and it’s it’s gone. Uh but he also has that patience element that he’s willing to kind of let it let it play. He can kind of ride the wave and find the cut. Uh and then in the pass game, he’s such a viable option there. Um you know, everyone saw what we did at Texas. Everyone was fired up. you know, Atlanta’s fortunate to pick him and uh he’s had a huge impact on this league. Like stats and like both your tackles are like way up on it. Is he the answer to that? Like just gave out like quicker than kind of holding back to chipper or something like that. Yeah, there’s pros and cons to it. Um you know, create a little bit more space obviously is the first thing comes to mind. Get people out. Um you know, there’s a time and place for it. At times you are going to have to help these guys. Those are hard downs, but um you know ball out completions, space plays uh do hold their value as well. Does it speed up their speed up the right speed up their development by being trusted in those situations early and often when you have two young? Yeah, I think they’re doing a good job. Uh I thought they’ve they’ve done a good job. Uh by no means is anything perfect uh for us. We’re all growing and learning and getting better, but uh I thought our guys on the tackle spot have done some really good things. You guys already done a chance to chat with Drew? I talked to Drew earlier. Yeah. So, it was fun. It’s fun. Yeah, Drew’s Drew’s been great. Uh Drew Drew’s obviously u has had a huge impact on this place. He still obviously keeps keeps good watch on uh the organization and, you know, has the ties back. And so, you know, when we were out in California for uh training camp for a little bit, he was out out of practice. And so, uh he came to one of our games earlier this year. And it’s always fun to see him, you know, he’s he’s one of the special people in this profession. It seems like Tyler was like pretty good anticipation. What are the the keys for like a quarterback being? Yeah, I think um you know, couple things that come to mind. uh starting with your ability from a mental standpoint to process things, make quick decisions, work through progressions, be able to anticipate things from that standpoint. And then the physical side, it’s really about your feet being tied to your tied to your mind. And so when your feet are set, when you’re ready to throw, uh the rest of the physical park can take take its course. And so, uh he’s done he’s had some really good examples of it. I think it’ll be fun to see him progress in that regard. What about like visually? Like do you think like the more you play with guys and like read them like does that help? No, no doubt. No doubt. especially when you got different routes that depending on the leverage, the angle could be different or a choice route where you could be breaking in out or hooking up. And so, uh, you got to spend some time invest invest some time with those guys to get a feel for it. And guys like CO and Jawan and some of the guys that are kind of in those choice type route categories. Um, yeah, you got to spend some time on it and I think they have the situational football guy. Appreciate the hook and ladder yesterday. Yeah, that was that was a good one. Yeah, Joe did an awesome job getting him back into that situation and it was really well executed. All right. Thanks, guys.

  1. this guy looks like a Mii character from Nintendo Wii. That is a monster cranium.
It'd be great to see less logic and clipboard and more high fives and amping up the team, but who knows.
