Given line-up news for KC backfield, just wanted to share what we found after looking in the Trenches.

To date, KC moves the chains mainly with the pass, not a ground and pound approach. They are almost 2-1 Ps1stDwn to Rsh1stDwn (130P/78R).

But when it comes to scoring, they are more balanced with 18 PsTD and 12 RnTD. And of those 12 TDs on the ground, 10 of those are in the line up today. 6 Hunt, 4 Mahomes.

On the other side of the ball, the IND D-Line is decent vs the run, giving up just 20 pts/gm total, making teams pass the ball to move the sticks. They hold teams to 92 yds/game and just 8 RshTDs to date (T7th best in league).

So it’s not that KC has to become more pass heavy b/c of their line-up but rather than’s what the Defense they’re facing calls for but watch the Redzone/Endzone.

  1. We have the interior O-Line to become an under center, play action, power team. But Andy Reid won’t utilize them.
