Ex-WNBA player Angel McCoughtry on Michael Porter Jr. : “I gotta come and drop 40 and I’m on my f*cking period & I’m bleeding, & my stomach hurts & and my back hurts, when y’all load manage off a headache?… Kobe don’t say that kinda stuff about us. He never did. He only uplifted us and supported us.

  1. Well to be fair they both have a point.

MPJ is not wrong to say men and women ballers/athletes are just different. He probably could have phrased his point a bit more respectfully without bringing up the 8th grade beating WNBA players business (even though it may be true).

Angel is not wrong to say women deal with things like periods or pregnancies that male ballers/athletes have the benefit of not experiencing while trying to perform in their respective sports.

  2. ay man she’s not wrong, dunking on wnba players is so lazy and lame, obviously they cannot compete with athletes a foot+ taller before they even stop growing. it’s nothing new and not like a cool putdown lol. just appreciate the women’s game as its own thing

  3. Does Angel know about what else Kobe Bryant did for women? or is that not uplifting enough?

Why did she omit the important parts about Kobe? 🤔

She could have easily kept ranting about the differences between MPJ >< Kobe.

  4. Number 1: What does that have to do with what MPJ said?

Number 2: Angel dropped 40 once in her career.

Number 3: Angel better shut the fuck up about uplifting. She randomly trashed Hailey Van Lith because her old dusty ass was bitter for not being signed.

  5. NBA players always uplift WNBA players and then they always reject it or try to one up it in some way.

Donovan Mitchell got backlash from a WNBA player because he didn’t know her name, but her number.

But when he did the same for an NFL player, the NFL player was very humble

    Edit : It was Iggy

  6. NBA has like what double the games comapred to the WNBA so injuries are more likely to happen in the NBA. At this point have the best WNBA player go 1v1 against a g leaguer at the All star game.

  7. MPJ is probably correct that a lot of players could do well against WNBA players at high school but also it’s just not a conversation worth having. 99.9999999% of people would agree that the NBA players would beat WNBA players and there’s a clear gap, why does that really matter?

If people are watching UNC Duke for example would it be worth it to go “wow the thunder would kill these guys by 50 points,” as if that should mean anything to the enjoyment of the sport from fans.

  8. The nba literally subsidizes this sport they operate at a loss no one wants to watch them play like what more do y’all want

  9. Men should only uplift women. Women on the other hand, are free to tear down other women.

  10. Bruh I’m so tired of the selective outrage. Aja Wilson can tell a NBA player she’ll beat him and no one bats an eye. But when MPJ tells the uncomfortable truth he’s crucified. We’re doomed as a society.

  11. i dont think MPJ is wrong to say the fact when he probably can beat those WNBA players when he is grade 8

  12. Hmmm, wonder if WNBA coaches chart opposing teams player’s cycles. There could be a whole extra level of analytics that doesn’t exist in the MNBA.

  13. I think we can all agree MPJ is one of the dumbest people ever to live, but talking about load management is pretty silly since she never played more than 34 games in a regular season.

Her point about elite players not disrespecting the WNBA was a good one though.

  14. Pretty sure I’ve heard wnba players claiming they’d beat certain all star NBA players 1 on 1 before.

  15. Theres at least a well documented instance where Kobe held down a woman. This girl really needs to pick a better example

  16. Im secretly hoping MPJ responds to this by saying he wasnt “trying to demean women’s sports, they’re more than capable of tearing each other down” for maximum carnage

  17. “The only thing that should come out of a man’s mouth regarding women should be uplifting her”

Uhh anyone else find issue with this comment? Cause we damn sure don’t expect it the other way around lol

  18. Notice how nothing she said actually addressed his point. Just attacked him for saying it at all and brought up details that were unrelated. MPJ didn’t imply that they are “soft” or divas compared to men, he just said they don’t stand a chance playing against men due to size/strength.
