🔴 LIVE🔴Arizona Cardinals vs Jacksonville Jaguars/Week 12 / Madden NFL 26

folks at home something to keep their eye on the running game for both teams because I think this is going to be an oldfashioned old school type of a game physical who wins up front who runs the ball the best and controls the clock they will come out the victor the kicker Chad Ryland has this one teed up and we are underway from Glendale and the tackle going to be made right there at the 25 yd line so here’s the first drive now for the Jazz bags. They’re led by the number one overall pick in the 2021 draft, Trevor Lawrence. And we’ve seen the flashes throughout his four years in the league, but he’s coming off an injury riddled season. We only played 10 games. Has to eliminate the costly turnovers at 52 in four seasons, and he’s hoping the new coach Liam Cohen can unlock his untapped potential. And it has to happen right now. Lawrence going to put it up right away. Thomas has got it complete. Give him three there on the first play of the game. And it’s second down. It’s a pick up of three. Brings up second and seven at the 28 yd line. Here’s Lawrence. And this throw incomplete. and the defender all over him that time and it’s going to lead to third down. He did an okay job of absorbing the hit, just couldn’t secure the football through the catch. And he was right there on the spot and forcing the incomp completion. That’s something defenders work on all the time. If you’re there, make the contact, but continue to work your way through the receiver so that you can’t possess the football and turn it into a catch. And that will be incomplete. That was their first third down try of the game and clearly something was off in the execution of that play. Good news, they got a whole game left to clean that up and start clicking on those key third down throws. On fourth down on is Logan Cook to punt. Greg Dors deep for Arizona. fielded at about the 28. 43 yd punt, but they get nine back on the return and the Cards will take over first and 10. So out comes this offense to take over for the first time. They’ll be led out by their quarterback, a product of NC State. It’s Jacobe Brassette. Spent the early years of his career bouncing between starter and backup as needed and played well, but never had a team fully commit to him as their guy. He does retain the toolbox that made him projectable as a starter. Big, strong player with a powerful arm, deceptively mobile, and tough to tackle. The best part about his game, leadership, and being a great teammate. And he’s going to be stopped up right at the line of scrimmage. So, no gain on the play and it’ll be second down. That was a simple throw and catch, but even with that completion, zero yards gained. So, they’re behind schedule on down and distance. I think they were hoping to get it to him. He can make a man or two miss, but that window closed quickly. Brassette sets to throw it. Open man is Marvin Harrison Jr. And this will be good for a pick up of nine to the 46. He decided to run a hitch. It really helped have a guy can turn it loose. And boy, he rifled one in there on that one. Not much run after catch, but it worked really well. And the Jags with five in the secondary now on third down. on the handoff. It’s Darano. And a good run here as he’ll rumble all the way down to the 40 yd line. That goes for 14 yds. First down Cardinals. And that’s a run that’ll energize an offensive line. They’ll take that one all day long. Fundamental breakdown by the defense. You’ve got to be able to make plays on the edge. Play fake Brand. And this is going to be caught, but they’ll say out of bounds. So, it’s incomplete. It’s a tried and true formula. And I don’t think it’ll change for as long as we play football. If someone’s trying to throw the ball and you can put pressure on them and make it tough, that’s only going to help your defense. Yeah, he’s since being hurried. He got rid of it before taking the hit, but incomplete. on play action for the improv act. They’re good for nine and now they’ll be looking at a third and short. Third and one. That’s an early scramble that can be viewed positively by either side. From the offensive point of view, it begins to establish him as a possibility to keep it on certain plays. And defensively, they avoided giving up a huge play and one of their first tests in containing a quarterback on the run. They’ll try and sneak it here and he is going to have a Cardinal first down. At least it would appear that way. He didn’t get it by much. But yes, they do get the conversion on third and one. Well, they pick it up on third and one on the quarterback sneak. And that’s not easily done because there are extra bodies in there on the defensive side and they’re moving forward at the snap. Yeah, I was certainly expecting a handoff, weren’t you? Yeah, I totally was. I thought they’d go with the back, maybe try to get a lead blocker in front. But as you talk about in different games, those guys with confidence in their offensive line, they just want to move forward and get it. I think if we put together a job description for a middle linebacker, we would start with being able to hold down things in the middle of the line of scrimmage and be able to take on blockers. But how about the guys who can go sideline to sideline and make plays? Love a guy that can do that. We saw a perfect example of it right there to draw a short one here caught by McBride and he gives it to the ground right on the cusp of the red zone after a pick up of five or six. Let’s not quibble about the game there on second down. That was a positive play because that was a take what you can get situation. Got out to the tight end. Now it gives him a much better opportunity to convert on third down. Heavy set out there on third and one. They’ll go with the keeper and he is going to hammer Cardinals first down maybe by about a yard as they find a way to convert on third and inches. There may be a little bit of an element of surprise there. Third and inches and they go quarterback sneak. I still feel like this is a play that often is reserved for fourth down. So from inside the 20 here’s first and 10 at the 18. The give is to De Mo and brought down but not before they get it inside the 10 to the seven. It’s a 10 yd gain there and it sets him up now first and goal. You were telling me this yesterday. This exactly what they want to do on the opening drive. Establish the ground game. Yeah, remember our conversation. We were talking about what one of the GMs in the league has told me repeatedly. It’s a big man’s game and it’s not necessarily size. He’s talking about playing some big boy football. Line up. Get ready. And down he goes. Pressure gets him back at the 14. Brought to the ground by the linebacker Foyer Aluakan. Well, that’s not how you hook to draw it up there on first and goal, CD, by taking a sack like that. Well, they tried to be aggressive, didn’t they? They didn’t want to try and work their way past the goal line. They wanted it right there on that play. Unfortunately, it backfired against them. Now, they have to try and pick it up here moving forward. It’s second and goal, but now all the way back at the 14. Banjo play. Here’s Bray. This is caught. Touchdown. Trey McBride. A 14 yd touchdown. And the Cardinals will jump on top with the game’s first score here this afternoon. Both sides of the football in sync early. You force the threeand out and then you take it down, score points. You know what that tells me? They sold their game plan really well. Head coach said, “Listen, we’re just going to stop them on three and out. We’re going to take the ball downfield and score.” But he also told him how it was going to happen. They’re going to run this. We’re going to stop it. Then we’re going to take the ball. They won’t be able to keep up with us. And they got it done. Chad Ryland. Chad Ryland now to add the pat and the Cardinals will go up seven to nothing. That one in the books as a 12play drive and it was capped off by a touchdown reception from Trey McBride. O’Reilly now following the touchdown. back out to kick it away and out a little across the 25 to the 27. So time to see Jacksonville again on offense for the second time here in this game. And the last drive, the first drive for them, not very good. Three and out. What do they go to here? Well, you don’t look down at your play sheet and say this is what the problem is. Let’s find out who my playmakers are. get the ball in their hands and maybe the offense will move a little bit better. Sometimes it’s more important to get it to the right people rather than dialing up the right number. Exactly. Or the the right play. Yeah, that too. They’ll start on the ground ETN and able to stay on his feet past the 30 to about the 33 yd line. It’s a sixyd pick up and it gets him to second and four. It’s time for them to be good teammates right here. What I mean by that is possess the ball for a little while. Get at least two first downs. Give their defense a chance to settle down a little bit after they give up a touchdown. Here’s Lawrence to throw. That’s going to be caught. It’s Jacobe Meyers and he’ll be out of bounds after getting this one across the 40. His first catch good for eight and a first down. A little football 101 there. There you just see the receiver trying to run down the defender, meaning he goes right at him and really trying to move him a little bit towards the center of the field so he can put his foot in the ground and break to the out to the sideline and make a catch. And he is met at the line of scrimmage and he goes down right there. Officially no gain on the play and it’s second down. As usual, the hallmark of a good run defense, linebackers making plays near the line of scrimmage. Absolutely nowhere to run there. Now a second and 10. ETN once more. And once again, he’ll get possibly back to the line of scrimmage, but no more than that. And second down play, not much better than the first. Just a gain of one there. Sometimes your philosophies get challenged at times. You don’t want them to. They did try to stick to the running game on the first two plays. Didn’t amount to much. And now facing a third and long at the outset of this drive. Lawrence will throw and they’ll find the open man. That’s complete and he will have a Jaguars first down as they’re able to get the third down conversion. And as a quarterback, you always want to exploit gaps in the defense. And he finds one here. Crossing route, working from right to left across the field. And once you get defenders going in the wrong direction, it is awfully hard for them to pivot back and you end up getting the first down. On first and 10, it’s ETN and he’ll just plow right into a host of tacklers. Nothing there at all. And it’ll be second and 10. He can rack up those tackles in bunches in the run game from that middle linebacker spot. And what he has to do is make sure he congratulates the guys in front and tells them thanks a lot. Because as the guy in the middle, the might linebacker, you’re counting on your front three, your front four, your front five, whatever you’ve got in front of you to take up all the blocking, allow you to roam and hit. And that’s what he did on that play. Throwing quickly there, but it’s incomplete. I like the call. It looked like the right time to dial up a running back screen, but this one got disrupted right from the start and ends up falling incomplete. Here comes the eighth play of the drive, and they need a full 10 yds on third down. Now Lawrence, he’s going to air this thing out deep for Thomas. And that will be incomplete. They weren’t scared to let it fly, but it falls to the ground and brings up fourth down. And that’s where you’re counting on a receiver size being an advantage. They were hoping he could go up the top of a smaller DB and haul that one in. A good thought, but that time it didn’t work out. field goal. A 55 yd attempt and he missed it. It’s no good. And this will stay at a seven-point game. Yeah, 55 yds is anything but a gimme. You got to really concentrate on your leg swing and proper technique. This time though, he’s unable to convert. So, the Cardinals offense back onto the field here for their second drive of the game. They’ve got the seven to nothing lead. Now they’ve got the football back after their defense got the stop CD and you get the feeling if they could score here they’d really have all the momentum on their side and you just wonder right now is the quarterback and the play caller totally in sync or they of one mind that hey what worked last time let’s keep doing it until they stop us or do they go to a different section in the playbook show something different either way they want a repeat of their first drive out to the flag that’s complete to his running It’ll be taken down at the 48 for a pick up of two yards. We’ve seen quite a bit of the short passing game here early on first quarter, haven’t we? We have. And I think it works a couple of ways for for this team because number one, you throw the short game until they stop it. And if they’re not going to stop it, you keep throwing it. And occasionally, you’ll break a tackle and turn into a bigger gain. Also, if they start to creep up, start to pressure receivers, now you go over the top, take it deep, now you get some of those big shots downfield. his first catch. Good for eight and a first down. I think that’s a big pickup for a first down because when you run a drag route against zone, you’re sometimes asking for trouble because you might run into a defender. Yeah. Well, there they ran into a first down. Executed it to perfection. Play action now. Brand now he’ll tuck this and run and to the 36 yd line. taken down there after getting eight yards. I do think it’s fair to say that they were caught off guard a little bit when he decided not to throw it on first down, but give them credit. They recovered in time to deny him the first down yardage, but it’s only second and short. So, that run is still likely to lead to a new set of downs. Running Dano and he’s going to get it down to the 33 yd line here. They’ll get three as the drive continues. It’s a first down. That’s good. Well, they came into this game saying it was important that they set the tone and show that they can run the football. I believe that they’ve done that here in the first quarter. So, they’ll come up first and 10 now from the 33. A run. It’s Steve and he stopped immediately there. Foyane and Lua made the tackle there from a safety position. No gain on the play. Well done to sniff that out defensively. He had it diagnosed pretty quickly. I love that description because diagnosed is perfect on that one. Read his keys, made the play, and he couldn’t even get going moving the football from the shotgun. It’s over the middle. Harrison nine yds and that leaves him just short. So it’ll be third and less than a yard. You can see the time and effort and thought that they put into their passing game because it was evident right there. It looks like a simple pitch and catch, but you and I both know that they have planned for this and worked hard to make it happen. It’s a quarterback sneak and he is going to have a Cardinal first down at least at first glance as they spot the football just beyond the marker. They find a way to convert on third and inches. I don’t know about you, but I like this car. Third and inches. And instead of worrying about getting it back to a running back and maybe there’s some penetration from the defensive front, just go ahead and take it. Move forward and pick up the first down. And as we say often, shows confidence in your offensive line. That pass completed to D. That’s good for a pickup of 10 yards. And that’ll leave him with a second and just a few inches left at the 12 yd line. after one. 7 nothing on a sports. Back in Arizona, second quarter action. It’s the Cardinals in possession in need of only about the length of the football here on second down on the ground. It’s Dano and he tried to bounce it outside but they’ll stop him behind the line. They’ll wind up losing three and now it’s third down. The short field shrinks even more with the type of bodies they brought in on that play. Those extra tight ends, they weren’t able to secure their blocks and that one ended up going backwards. The Cardinals on third down. A perfect four for four thus far. This time it’s third and three. Throwing for he’ll be hit and taken down at the 21. The safety blitz stays to perfection that time as they sack him for a loss of six. These strong safeties, some people may not realize it. It’s really like an extra linebacker, right? It really is because they’re hybrids. Half linebacker, half defensive back. The linebacker in him on that play emerged. Chad. So on fourth down, out comes Chad Ryland for the Arizona field goal. This will be, let’s see, 38 yds out. And his kick here is good. So, another scoring drive there, Charles, in an early two-score lead. You’d like the six there, partner, but you’ll take the three. And I think they have to be happy about the way they move the ball in these first two drives. They have to feel good about their opportunities the rest of the game. So after the field goal, Ryland back out as he’ll send this one away. And a decent return out to the 27 yd line. Jacksonville back on offense and ready to take over. And the way their last drive ended, boy, it was frustrating. They had a pretty good drive going. It was sustained and then it stalled out Charles and they missed the field goal and got nothing out of it. Is that insult to injury because they had such a sustained drive as you noted. So you know for the head coach it almost felt like a little bit of failure to send down the field goal unit and then not even see the ball go through the post. What a bummer on that last drive for them. Got to pick themselves up from that one. He works his way forward to pick up four yds there. Second down. Well, on every play call, you realize it’s not going to go for a touchdown. So, a lot of your calls are setting things up for maybe later in the game, trying to establish the inside run, run with toughness now, hopefully get to the perimeter later. And let’s face it, you could do worse than a four yd run on first down. They go play action with Lawrence and he bats it away and it falls down incomplete. So many times when we talk about coverage, we just talk about a defender running with a receiver, but a big part of it is understanding where the football is, finding it. In this case, when it arrived, it wasn’t a surprise and he was able to bat it away. So after the second down incompletion, they’ll come up now against a third and six. Working the middle of the field, he’s got a man complete and he is going to have a Jags first down as they’re able to gift the third down conversion. That’s good for a Jaguars first down. A gain of 11 on the play. First down Jacksonville. Yeah, these are the types of plays they’re going to need to hit on if they’re going to get back into this game. It hasn’t been the greatest of first half, but this is a nice throw here on third down and they keep the drive going. Lawrence, a short throw taken in by Lauren. They’ll give him four yds there and that’ll make it second down. They gave up the completion there, but this is what zone defenses count on. Catching the ball and not much run after the catch. Ball on the 47 yd line. Here’s second and six. Straight ahead ETN. And the running lanes non-existent in this first half as they’ll stop him behind the line. It’ll go down as a two yd loss and it brings up a third down. The running lanes have definitely not been there for him here in the first half and I don’t think it’s all been his fault. His offensive line hasn’t given him much space. A loss results there. In motion left goes Meyers looking to throw Lawrence. Oh, he had him. He was open but he couldn’t get it to him. It’s incomplete. It’s going to be another frustrating end to a drive here. This offense, they’ve not been able to get anything going in this first half. And now it’s going to be time to gather on the sidelines and try to figure out what’s going wrong. Who has an idea? Who has a plan? Time to implement it. And Cook now on the punt as he gets this one away. And he was looking for the check out bounce. Didn’t get it. that scoots all the way into the end zone now for a touchback. Here’s the Arizona offense now as they get set to take over. And they split the uprights last time for three. They’ve got the lead. They’re not going to play this conservative. They’re not hoping for another field goal. They’re hoping for a touchdown. I’m with you on that one. I like where your head is. I like the way you’re thinking because you’re exactly right. Trying to sit on a lead and play that way, that doesn’t work too well for most teams. Run your offense. Run what you do best. Exactly. They put it all the way down and try to increase your lead a big way. The best way to do it, touchdowns. And the tackle made by Andrew Wager. This defense could use a few more plays like that right now. It certainly could, but think about it from an offense’s perspective right now. They’ve got a lead, but they don’t want to throttle down too much and stall themselves. Still want to move at a nice pace. %ette now for left side complete. That’s Harrison and he’s got it past the 30 before he’s hit and dropped. Third catch of this first half for him and this one is a first down. This has to go down as one of the simpler routes in the playbook, but oh so effective. Nice completion there. Keeps the sticks moving from the 32. Now here’s first and 10. Here’s a quick throw by Higgins and that’s good for a pick up of 10 yds and they’ll be left with a second and about a four yd. And after that completion, you can understand why so many teams in the league are emphasizing speed on defense at every position. The tight ends have created so many tough matchups. Now, if you can’t run with a tight end as a linebacker, this is going to be the result every time. Here’s Knight on the handoff and he’ll go down right around the 47 this time. A gain of five. Good enough for the first down. They were not fooling around at all, were they? Second and short. And they brought out the heavy package. Almost like the super heavy package against that defense, didn’t it? Yeah. I don’t think they expected that much beef up front and it turned into an easy first down conversion. Watson going to get this one out wide. That’s good. there for seven yds and that’ll bring up second down. The coach is always hard on the quarterback reading the defense and getting it to the open man. That’s good recognition there. And how about what he did after the catch. Yeah. Hit your tight end. Let him get some rack. Yeah. When he when he gets moving, not many guys want to come over and put a hit on him, do they? Here’s percent. This is taken in by McBride and he’s going to have another first down as the tackle is made at the Jaguars 31 yd line. Another Cardinal first down. First and 10 at the 31 yd line. And that’s patience to be admired right there because he looks left, looks right, and waits for the right guy to come open, spots him in the middle of the field, and delivers. Here’s Donnell. A short game here, maybe a yard to the 29. Defensively, we always know that he is tough in run support. And I think the way that he gets there is he understands what an offense is going to do before the ball’s even snapped. a great job of scouting prior to the game, then reading, reacting, and taking the right path to the ball carrier. That’s complete to Michael Wilson. And he’s going to have another first down as the tackle’s made at the Jaguars 15 yd line. Now, hang on here a second. Looks like a Jaguar in some obvious discomfort from that last play. So, as the medical staff takes a look, we’ll step aside. Line of scrimmage, the 15. It’s first and 10 now. %. He’ll give that complete to Harrison. That’ll go for a gain of seven and it’ll be second down. It’s a gain of seven. Brings up second and three at the 8 yd line. How about this? They’ll try the option left side and he’ll take this one for the Arizona touchdown. Jacobe Bruss keeping it himself from seven yds out and the Cardinals are able to add on to that lead. I’d have to say that for him that was an all-encompassing drive because it was his arm that got his team down to that point but his legs that finished the deal. Give him credit for making it happen. Ryland on for the extra point. He’s got it and it’s 17 nothing. So that one a pretty timeconsuming 10play drive and the capper that put it in the end zone a run of eight yds. Back out is the kicker Ryland and he’ll send this one away. And it’s a pretty good return here as he’ll get this up to the 29. Out comes the Jacksonville offense as they get set to take over here. And we don’t want to call this desperation time, especially in the second quarter, but you’re down to, you know, but hold on. Okay. You’re down three scores already. You’ve done nothing offensively. Nothing on the scoreboard. That’s That’s not a good combination. I think you just called I think you just called a desperation, Tom. I think you did. But let’s face it, you mentioned this to me in a break earlier in the game. The energy level hasn’t been there right from the start. We’ve noticed that they’ve got to find a way to get on their toes and start punching instead of retreating to use a boxing analogy. And not a whole lot of room to operate there on the first down run. He gets maybe three. They’d love to just strike back with a touchdown right here. If it’s a long play, so be it. But the main group, get a couple of first downs, run some plays, run some clock, allow their defense to get a chance to catch their breath, settle down, and relax a little bit after they just gave up the score. They go play action now. Lawrence and that falls to the ground. Incomplete. A nice job of bodying him up defensively. And now brings up third down. So another incompletion there. He’s hitting on fewer than half his pass attempts in this one. And that is not a winning formula. Yeah. So let’s make sure we give a little bit of credit to the defense. They’re giving him a lot to think about, a lot of different looks. He seems a little bit confused trying to complete passes. He’s got his running back out of the back field and he will have a Jaguars first down as they’re able to get the third down conversion. When you struggle on offense, you’re looking for anything possible to get you going. Sometimes you do it like basketball teams that don’t normally press. You put a press on, bring people to life, make a move a little bit quicker. Maybe that’ll help them as they head towards the half. Here’s Lawrence. ETN bringing in another one through the gain of five and it’ll be second down. Not only did we just see backto back nice gains, but we’re also seeing the confidence rise not just for the guy who caught it, but the guy throwing it as well. And these can these backto back catches here out of the back field that can set something up downfield in a later sequence. Right. A lot of the time it starts to draw the defense closer to the line of scrimmage. So to your point, show this swing pass, show this check down. Maybe later on he one deeper to catch him close to the spot. 41 yds rushing now on eight carries for him so far. A gain of pretty explosive run on that inside handoff. And when you’re a runner of his caliber, you don’t need a big crease. You really don’t. But also what we’re seeing is an offensive line that’s taking charge at the point of attack, aren’t we? Not only they controlling the initial contact, they’re actually utilizing what they call the stream the next two to three seconds to continue to move people. Now he is going to be stopped cold behind the line of scrimmage. Officially, it’s a oneyd loss. That’s going to bring up second and 11. That was well played there defensively. Two tight ends in the formation, which essentially gave them seven blockers up front. Hard to imagine with all that size and beef that they could let a tackler through, but that’s exactly what happened. A loss resulted. Now Lawrence to throw. Throw left side taken in by Washington. A short gain of just over two yds as the first half clock dips inside of three minutes. The Jaguars on third down. They’ve hit it 50%, three of six to this point. This is third and eight. Now Lawrence and this is going to be incomplete. Now they’re staring at a fourth down as Arizona’s defense does its job. What an excellent defensive stand there in the red zone. Nice tight coverage. They certainly recognized how important it was to bring up fourth down here. A 33 yd attempt and this one is right through and they’re on the board at least here. It’s now 17-3. So from an offensive perspective, at least able to get on the board here right in front of the two-minute war. Yeah. Now it’s time to talk about complimentary football, isn’t it? Because if the defense can force a three and out, there could be enough time on the clock that they can get the ball back for their offensive guys and maybe put some more points on the board before the half. Cam Little. Here’s the Jaguar kick team now as they run up and send this one away. But a nice return sets them up pretty good here right at the 30 yd line. Arizona getting ready to go as they take the field. They have to be pleased with the way that they move the football thus far. And why wouldn’t they be? Two touchdowns on a field goal on their first three possessions. They’re playing so well right now. The field goal probably feels like a disappointment. looking to put a drive together. They’ll start this drive out on the ground and he gets forward up the middle but only for a couple and it’ll be second down. That’s just a pile of bodies there and that’s when you kind of find out who’s a tough guy, right? Who can stand up and make a play. It was only a three yd run, but for both sides, they had to walk away from that feeling like, okay, I can stand up when the going gets tough in here. And we’ve hit the 2-minute mark in this first half of action from the 33 here. Second down and seven to throw. Vers got his man. Dorch and he’ll be taken down but not before he gets into enemy territory. 19 yds there on the catch and run. Good strong throw and catch right there. And so far in this game, the alleys have been open for them to get completions and they’re taking advantage of it. From the gun, he’ll hand this off and he is swallowed up right at the line of scrimmage. They’ll lose a yard there and it’s second and 11. And that’s what I’d like to see out of this defense. A little fire, a little toughness. It hasn’t been the best first half for them, but they did do a nice job there forcing a loss on that play. Looking at a second and 11 now after the loss out of the gun. Brand now he’s going to step up and run. And he’ll take it down the 45 at the 46. The Cardinals going to use the first of their timeouts as they’ll stop it with just over a minute to go before halftime. This is not the end. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And they’ll need the 39 here for a first. This is third down. Brand sets to throw it. And that is incomplete. They’re going for a receiver there. Already has one touchdown in this first half. A second one not to be. I like where their head space is, though. I mean, I really like the thought process, right? You got a guy who’s already scored one, right? You want to go back to him, continue the hot hand, and make them adjust to you defensively. I like what they were trying to get done even though they weren’t successful. And that will skip out of bounds right at about the 18 yd line. The Jags going to go on offense now late in this first half. And what do you think goes on here in this situation? If you got the football, you’re trailing. You’re back in your own territory with just a little time. Do you try something? You’re thinking about jumpstarting your team, right? You just mentioned it. They’re down. They’re trying to get back into the game. But you got to figure if something goes wrong, you may have put yourself in a spot where you may not be able to come back in the second half. Managing risk. This is a big decision here. Lawrence will throw. That’s caught by the Jaguars going to go ahead and use their first time out as they get the stoppage with just under 50 seconds remaining in half number one. Nice rhythm throw there on first down. He located his tight end, made a nice easy pitch and catch. Hoping he can break a tackle or two. Wasn’t able to do that there, but still good yardage. Here’s second and four from the 24. Here’s Lawrence to throw. They’ll get this out to the flat for ETN. Now the Jags will use the second of their timeouts as they’ll stop it with just over 40 seconds to go in the first half. I know it was a gain, but you have to sense probably a little bit of disappointment there because when it’s out there in open space, I think they expect to get more out of a play, don’t you? Especially when you’re getting it to your guy out of the back field, you’re expecting him to be able to create something, be a little more shifty. Yeah, no doubt about it. Good open field tackling held it to an okay game. man and he hits him in stride. The Jaguars now will use the last of their timeouts as it’ll come with 36 ticks to go in half number one. Got to say I was a little surprised to see him Charles come out in the shotgun on third and less than a yard. Yeah, but the way the NFL is nowadays, we hardly ever see anyone really run for it on short yardage. So, they’re going to throw the football more times than not. That was a nice easy rhythm throw right there and they pick up the first down. Now Lawrence got an open man. It’s Washington and he slips up past the 45 before being tackled. The Jags picking up the first down there. A gain of 12. And this was a nice example of an offensive coordinator scheming his guy open. Just a little underneath route just trying to free up some space. And it worked awfully well. got him not just space but plenty of room to run after the catch to pick up really nice yardage. That’s complete into the hands of Meyers. Backto back nice gains. That one for 14 yds and another first. These guys have definitely been outplayed in the first half. I like their countenance. I like the way that they haven’t panicked out there. The way they’re carrying themselves starting to move the ball and what you have to do, maintain your poise and start to put together some drives. And this is good from 57 yds out. That was bombs away right there. And a second field goal here gets them back within 11. Now it’s 17-6. So a big play before the end of the half to get him into this spot and they cash in with three. How about the one two to the solar plexus on that one. The big play, the field goal. Not much time left on the clock. That’s the way to go into the half. Four seconds all that remain here in this first half as the kick gets away. And not wanting to risk anything here late in the half, he’ll just take a knee and they’ll bring the football out to the 25 at their own 35 yd line. They’ll indeed start on the ground to run that clock and brought down but not before reaching the 45 yd line. So halftime here out west. Let’s go east. That’s where we find Scott Hansen with our EA Sports halftime report. All right, Brandon, thanks much. Welcome in everyone to the Orlando studios. Scott Hansen with you for a quick halftime report. We’ll let both sides catch their breath and get their orange wedges as we’re going to get ready for the third quarter action. So, let’s go back out to the stadium as we rejoin our broadcast team. Brandon Goden and Charles Davis. Scott, thank you very much. We are ready to get started here with the second half. The Cards with the lead and they will get this football first as the second half gets started. gets past one man and he’ll go down as this drive will start at the 25 yd line. The Cardinals ready to go here to start the third quarter and they’ve got the lead. CD, what do you think the message was at halftime? I don’t think the message was too drastic, I think, at the half or that they need to change things too much. I do think the offensive line could play a little bit better and I think they’ll try and help them out more. They’ll probably keep a tight end in a few more times and maybe add a running back to the formation and pick up those pass rushers because they probably allowed a few too many sacks for comfort in the first half. They’ll start on the ground here on first down. Well, he’ll be out of bounds right up at 40. 57 yds rushing on 12 carries for him now. They’ve got the lead early here in the third quarter and runs like that are how they establish that lead in the first half. I love the fact that you’re using the word lead because they are leading from the front, pounding on the defense right now with the running game and truly establishing themselves here in the second half. Pretty well stopped in his tracks getting the yard up to the 42. It went right back to him, but he pretty much had nowhere to go on that play. Yeah, the previous carry looked pretty good. that one. He was a little tired. I don’t know. Yeah, maybe he should have tapped out and had a second bat come in and maybe make that run. Who knows? Here’s a second and eight. One back in the back field. He’ll get the carry some space here and he takes this one down almost way to the 30. A big hitter there. A first down gain of 26 yds. I know that play went to the left side and that’s what it was designed to do. an outside handoff there, but how about the whole offensive line being involved? Seal the left side where the play was going, what they call play side, but how about on the backside? Just taking care of business to make sure no one can get there and just walk it is the biggest key to left tackle without a doubt. Control that edge. Get out there. You want that left tackle. If you bring your tight end over there, either way, control the edge of the line of scrimmage, you got a chance to rumble. Ball on the 28 yd line. Here’s second down and seven. They’ll try to throw now. A short one here caught by McBride and he’s brought down at the 24 after a gain of four. Let’s face it, you can put any Halloween costume on him. You’re not going to be able to disguise him because for a tight end of his size, difficult to sneak him anywhere. But that’s what they tried to do. lined up on his right, tried to work his way back to his left, but just a minimal gain as the defense was able to react quickly. Able to find the open man that’s complete and he will reach the 5 yd line before going out of bounds. Just his second catch of the game so far. This one moves the chains. And now we get into the psychology of the whole thing because a lot of teams with a two-score lead in the third quarter, they almost become defensive with their offense just playing not to lose. I think with this team, you got to figure at this point, this is a great spot for them to go into attack mode. And the S leads to roughly a loss of six and it brings up second and goal. First and goal looked like things were set up nicely and now all of a sudden on second and goal, Charles, a big challenge ahead of him. And you have to know when you’re this close to the goal line, things are going to happen faster. So, you’ve got to get the ball out quick. Not going to have much time in the pocket before the defenders bring pressure. They’ll try again on second and goal after going backwards to the 12. One back in the back field. He’ll get the carry and he’ll be brought down right on the edge of the goal line at about the one yd line. They get 11 back on that one. It leads to third down. Lots of praise on this drive. Obviously, I I know you’re seeing what I’m seeing. Those guys up front, they’re getting it done. Doesn’t matter what play is called, they are handling their business at the line of scrimmage and dominating right now on this drive. They’ll try and sneak it here and he is on the line for another rushing touchdown. Is he a quarterback or is he a tail back? The sneak successful from a yard out and the Cardinals take the opening kickoff of the third quarter and drive right down the field to extend their lead. Now Ryland for the PAT. And the lead is up to 18 now. A good drive that time as they go nine plays in all. And it was capped off by the quarterback sneak for six. Got it. Straight through the upright. Ryland now following the touchdown. Back out to kick it away. and he’ll take it up past the 25 to the 26 yd line. Here comes the Jags offense now. Time for their first possession of half number two. Lawrence bringing the Jaguars out. First and 10 at their own 26. They’ll look to ETN to start things out and just shouting him off there and they work this well up field across the 45. 63 yds on the ground for him now on nine carries. They finally caught up to him there at the end of the play, but great inside handoff and what a powerful run. The first few yards seemed relatively easy. Then it got tougher, right? And that’s where he showed that he was not going to go down easily. He was not going to be denied until he got everything he could out of that run. Nothing open downfield. He keeps it himself for 11 and a first down. 11. Has not been a big game for him throwing the football. I think he feels like he’s trying something different. Let’s use the legs here. See if we can make some plays. Okay. No passing touchdowns. Yardage not where he would like it. Try something new. It worked there. ETN up the middle and down inside the 35. He goes to the 32 yd line. Nine yds is the pick up there and they’ll have a second and one. Good yardage there on first down. Exactly what you want. Get yourself set up to keep making first downs. Keep the clock running. If they’re smart, you’re starting to milk the clock. No hurry before you run your second down play. On second down, ETN once more and he’ll go down here right around the 23 yd line. Nine yds to pick up there and it’s a first down. That’s another Jaguars first down. They’re making it look easy out there. Another first down. So, so far on this drive, let me do this little bit of math here. Four plays, three first downs. That’s a pretty good recipe for success. And now they’ll throw it with Lawrence looking for Thomas, but that’s intercepted. And the Cards are going to take possession here at their own 16 yd line. And when I looked down, he was kind of shaking his head right after he threw that pass. What did you see? Well, from a defensive perspective, anytime you have your eyes back towards the quarterback, you’re in a position to make a play on the ball, whether it’s a big time play by you or an overthrow by the quarterback, you have a much better opportunity. getting set to go again as we look at the back heading onto the field again. He is knocking on the door for 100 yardds in this ball game. And it’s so important. It doesn’t seem like it’s that big of a deal. Just short of it. A little bit over. A little bit over feels better to everyone. Offensive line, running back, team totals. Just something magical about breaking that barrier. And he’s right there on the doorstep now. They’ll start this drive out on the ground. call it a gain of four on first and that’ll make it second down. By the end of all that hitting and hollering. It was a four yd run. So the offense is going to go back down and feel pretty good about themselves. Defensively you have to feel okay because you didn’t let it turn into a bigger run. But the goal shut it down for two yards or less. That’s when you start to feel good about yourselves. And he’ll keep leaning on the line game. Back to the ground and he gets this one just shy of the 40 down at the 39. That burst good for 20 and a first down. Cardinal first down. Yeah, another good run there. He’s been such a big part of their success here this afternoon. And that last carry, it puts him over 100 yardds now for the day. On first down, they’ll go to the ground at 10 and they’re going to stop him right at the line of scrimmage. Just no cut back lane to be found whatsoever. Second and 10. That time they’re able to bottle him up, but he’s having a really nice game. I agree with that. Let’s just go big picture, right? Every back that’s in the Hall of Fame had carries where they didn’t gain yardage or they lost yardage, but you stick with them, don’t you? When they’re having a good game, keep feeding them. on the carry. Here’s able to get a couple as he’s across the 40 to the 41. Typically, we think it’s the strong safeties that are better tacklers, especially closer to the line of scrimmage amidst traffic. But in this case, how about the free safety coming up and making the big time play here. Now a third down and eight to throw is Brass to the sideline pulled in and he’s going to have another first down as the tackles made at the Jaguars 33. A gain of 26 on the third down conversion. And while we may be looking at the scoreboard, this offense certainly is not because they’re showing no signs of backing down. Even with a three-score lead here in the third quarter, I think they keep taking their shots. They’ve seen blown leads happen throughout this league. They don’t want to fall victim to it themselves. And nothing. He’s immediately taken down at the line of scrimmage. No gain there as he kept it himself at second down. Go. One back in the back field. He’ll get the carry. And for one of the few times here today, this run’s not going to go anywhere. No gain on that one as it brings up a third and 10. Nice job there defensively to clamp down because really they’ve been on their heels this drive. Agreed. And they really needed that one for confidence, just to feel a little bit better. But I don’t know if I would be daunted by them stopping me on one run. This drive has gone pretty well. I could come right back at him. And down he goes. They sack him back right around the 41 yd line. Andrew Wingard coming in to drop him for a loss of eight. And it also brings up fourth. This is a little hard for me to compute because I’m watching sack after sack happen, but somehow they’re still behind in the game. I would expect all of this defensive pressure to translate to them taking a lead. Thus far, it hasn’t happened. Time’s winding down. They don’t want to waste this type of performance from these ace pass rushers. Here’s Matt Hawk now as he’ll kick it away for the second time. And that is very well done there as this will be marked out of bounds at the five yd line. The Jaguars offense and Travis ETN set to take over once again. And you have to imagine this defense saying, “How do we stop this guy?” He has run rough shot through him to this point in the third quarter. Jaguars come to the line to start their next drive. I kind of feel like they’ve reached a do or die point in this game, Charles. If they’re going to try to pull off an impressive comeback, it has to start right here, right now. Yeah. Now they’ve got a final chance to get out of this situation, but they also understand they’ve got to move the ball and move it fast. In addition, they need to save as much time so they can get two more possessions. Here’s second and three. From the gun, it’s Lawrence looking outside and he’s got a man. That’s Washington and out of bounds across the 15 yd line. Four yds. The pickup. First down. Let’s make this one simple. What a catch. Especially the finishing part of getting his feet in bounds. Toeteet tapping and of course foot dragging. Little tapestry if you will. Oh, I like it. And he’s brought down getting this one up to about the 35. and even 100 yards for him on the ground now as he has been terrific here this afternoon. Jaguars first down. A gain of 19 yds. First down. Man, these guys may not win this ball game, but you certainly can’t fault the effort of this man here today. He’s been a real thorn in their sides all afternoon. And that last carry puts him over the 100yd mark. Lawrence, they’ll get this off DTU and he’ll be taken down, but not before he works it past the 50. 17 more yards on that one as they keep the drive rolling. Now, what we’re seeing, this is much better from this offense because so far in this game, no touchdowns to this point. And what’s usually a direct correlation, very few explosive plays. That’s been their issue. not able to make that big shot downfield or break one off, but a nice game there for a first down. And he is tackled inside the 40, not quite to the 35. Back to back nice plays, 12 yds that time and a first down. And that’s the kind of play this offense needs to maybe kick them into gear a little bit. They’ve been stuck in neutral much of the game. Perhaps that can give them a little bit of confidence that big plays are out there. looking to throw Lawrence. That’s caught by Meyers. And he’s got this down almost to the 20 before he’s dropped. Back to back. Nice gains. That one for 14 yds and another first. It’s taken a while for this offense to get going. A little creaky at the start, but they’re oiled up now. A nice throw there and they’re really putting together a good drive. And as they come to the line, they will not be able to get off another play as time has run out on this third quarter. You are watching the NFL on EA Sports. Back now here on EA Sports. It’s Jaguar football, but a little work to do for them. They trail here as we start the fourth. They’ll stick with the passing game as he looks to throw. And that is incomplete. Now the coverage a little too good there, but it’s second down. They lead big and a major part of that has been how they’ve taken their play to a whole new level this second half. No points allowed since the break. And you can add another incompletion to the total number that they forced in this runaway contest. throwing again on second and 10. Lawrence five yds. Now it’s third and five to Washington. 5 yd to go on the play and it’s third down. The emotion right is Thomas again. He’ll drop the throw and he’s caught and will get this into the end zone for Jaguar touchdown. Jacobe Meyers a 16 yd touchdown. And the Jaguars go coast to coast and finish the drive off with six points. So a little bit of a let down there defensively. Yeah, I mean, look, you’re still two scores to the good, CD, but things may be a little more uncomfortable than they had hoped. Yeah, if you kept them out of the end zone there, this game’s over. You’ve locked the door on them. Instead, it’s still open a little bit and they’ve got a puncher’s chance. Extra point attempt here still to come. And it is good. That cuts the lead now to 1124 13 our score. Jaguars 13. So that drive consumes nine plays all told and it was all capped off by Jacobe Meyers on the touchdown reception. Let’s go. The kickoff unit is out on the field and they will send this one away. And he’ll be tackled just shy of the 25 and the Cardinals getting sent to trot out there. Now there are two scores on the plus side. Still time here in this fourth quarter, but maybe you start thinking about playing keep away. Yeah, I think here’s the situation. You’re not thinking touchdowns anymore. You’re just thinking first downs to keep up with your theme there playing keep away. First downs, they can’t touch the ball. Looking to put a drive together now. And that is going to be incomplete as he let him a bit too much. As defensive coordinators around the league tell me all the time, that throw is not for every quarterback because you’ve really got to drive the ball downfield. It’s going to be a tight window for him to fit that one into this case unsuccessfully. Here’s Jaguar pressure and a Jaguar sack brought down by Trayvon Walker on the pass rush. They’re done. And this dominant defensive performance continued on that play. Hey, this poor quarterback. He’s not received the protection he needs and has had to pick himself up off the turf far too often. The offense on third down. They’ve been really good converting seven of their 10 tries. This will be a tough third and 18. We’re set now. He’ll try and do this himself and he’ll get it up here this time to the 21. Five yds that time out of the scramble, but now they’re looking at a fourth down situation. I thought he did a pretty good job there to get back what he could, but let’s face it, that sack on second down, talk about throwing a wrench into the works. He certainly did. Yeah, he did everything he could there trying to pick up some positive yardage and he did but not enough. On is the punter Hawk as he gets this one away. This will be a 41 yd punt. Three on the return and the Jaguars go on offense. First down and 10. The Jaguars offense and their running back getting set for this next possession. And he has put in a full game’s work and then some. Just an incredible performance on the ground to this point in the fourth quarter. The Jacksonville offense set to begin their next drive. Their defense was able to force the punt. That’s the good news. But this is still a two-score game and they need points on this drive and in a relatively quick manner. and he’ll take this to the other side of midfield before going out of bounds. First play of the drive going for 14 and also going for a first down. Well, partner, they’ve used him quite well out of the back field in this one. And here’s another nice example. They set up the screen and he’s able to pick his way downfield for a nice gain there. That’s the tight end and he’ll get this one down near the 20 yd line. just shy of the 20 on the play. A really nice gain at 25 yds. First down. First and 10 at the 22 yd line. Well, every drive from here out is definitely crucial and critical. They know that they need to get at least three here to get it back to a one-sore game, but I can’t imagine that in their huddle that they’re thinking at all about getting a field goal. They want to get into the end zone and then try to get the ball back again. Under pressure and he’ll go down. Sacked back at the 31. Walter Nolan gets him for a loss of eight. What great push up front but found his way into the back field and he simply would not be denied. Well, they say that life’s all about opportunities and that holds true when you’re playing defense as well. How about him seeing that chance, making the most of it, did a great job of wrapping him up and bringing him down. Now Lawrence to throw. Yeah, a quick throw there, but it’s going to be incomplete. Guaranteed they approach this play with the idea of making up ground to make third down manageable. Unfortunately, with that incompletion, right back where they started on the last snap. Now they need a big third down play in order to pick up the yardage needed. An incomplete pass on that last play and that means they’ll need to come up with something here on third down. Out of the gun, it’s Lawrence. Throw out wide is incomplete. They got to give out a little applause on that play. It has to go to the defense. More good work by them. They’ve taken away the passing lanes all game long and you can see the frustration that it’s causing because he just about threw that one into the first run for the field goal. A 48 yd attempt and his kick is absolutely perfect and that’ll make this an eight-point game. All right, so they needed two scores to get back in the game. The field goal there maybe not exactly what they wanted but the necessary first step. There’s still time remaining and there’s enough time to get it done. They’ve got to get it at least a three and out here to get the ball back. Preferably a takeaway. Set to kick this one away. And off it goes. And a good effort on the return there gets him across the 30 up to the 33. The Cardinal offense takes back over their lead back down to one score after the field goal a moment ago. So they’ll be looking to string together a few first downs likely on the ground as they begin first and 10. looking to put a drive together on play action for set. That’s complete to McBride. They’ll wind up getting seven on the play and that will bring up second down. And his play caller does a nice job of giving him an easy throw to start this drive and he takes advantage of it. The completion sets up a manageable second down. Ball on the 40 now. Here’s second and three. They go play action with Brand. That ball caught by Harrison and he has a big gain inside the 40 before being dropped. A gain there of 21 yd. 21 yd. That’s good. Well, that should be a reminder defensively and I think it’s a reminder to myself because you just can’t sell out to stop the run. There’s still enough time that this offense can move the football through the air even on first and second downs and they obviously picked the right spot to throw the ball there. And a very determined run there as he’ll take this all the way down to the 27. Good effort. 11 more on that one and another first down. How about that there? No frrills, no additives, right? Nothing crazy. Just find a way to pick up the first down. A nice run right there. On first down, they’ll go to the ground at 10 and down inside the 15 he goes. Backto back nice gains. That one for 14 yds and another first. No doubt those are the types of carries they’re looking for here, Charles. the lead in the fourth quarter. This is when coaches that have a reliable running game, they breathe a little easier on the sideline. Yeah, they love the idea that they can take the air out of the football at this point of the game. That means they’re really counting on that offensive line, counting on the runners taking care of the from 14 yd and the Cards have opened up a two touchdown lead here this fourth quarter. Well, that’s certainly going to bump up the old win probability index because now it’s a twocore game here in the fourth quarter. Yeah, you’re taking me into that deep water now win probability index. This game’s definitely not over. We’re not looking at a half percent or something. It’s just two scores. But the way that this team has played to me, what I’ve seen, they absolutely deserve to win this game. They’ve been the better team by far throughout. Ryland on for the extra point. And the lead is up to 15 now. Five plays there on that drive. And the Cardinals cap it with a touchdown. So after the field goal, Ryland back out as he’ll send this one away. Nifty move and he returns this to the 22. the visitors offense and Trevor Lawrence getting set for this next drive. And he has been masterful so far in leading this offense. He’s kept the mistakes to a minimum. He’s been on point with his passes and he’s generally been one step ahead of this defense all game long. Jaguars come to the line to start their next drive. And tough to win games if you’re going field goal, field goal, field goal. When they got field goal last time, they’ll be looking for a touchdown. They’re looking for the big chunk now because as you noted, the field goal, field goal, field goal way of doing it makes it that much harder. Puts more pressure on every possession for you now. Go ahead and get six and feel a lot more comfortable about the position they’re in. Bigger chunks. We’ll see if they can get the score. So into Cardinal territory now. It’s first and 10 right at the 40. Now Lawrence, his throw incomplete pass. They certainly thought he had an open book beyond the first down marker to his receiver, but they just couldn’t connect. And that will send them back to the drawing board. Here’s second and 10. A shotgun snap and again give the ETN. Oh, an absolutely filthy joke. He’s got some space now. Follow his blockers there all the way down to the 23 yd line. We’ll definitely see some open running lanes and he’s taking advantage of it right now. But that shouldn’t be a surprise. Defense has the lead. They’re playing for the pass first. Jaguars. Here’s Lawrence. Open man is Myers. Only able to gain a couple there. And it’s second down. You got the big lead defensively. Willing to give him that underneath stuff, right? And this is why you work on your tackling. Tackle them after the catch. Inbounds. Keep the clock running. Just go ahead and bleed the game out that way. This is second and eight. Lawrence will throw over the middle complete. It’s Washington and stopped a few yards shy of the goal line at the three. That catch puts him over 70 yd receiving now as he’s got a first down. It’s all pretty simple sometimes, isn’t it? Go where the defenders are not. And he does exactly that. Makes a nice catch to move the chains. Defense got to find a better way of accounting for the shorter routes that are being run against them. ETN going to be hit and met at the line of scrimmage. They get him down at the three. No gain on the play that time and it sets up second and goal. He’s having a big game running the football, but that one will hurt the yards per carry a little bit. Yeah, but the average he’s got so far, that’s the type of average he wants to take with him to contract negotiations, doesn’t it? Now Lawrence, they’ll try and set up the screen. ETN touchdown Jaguars. Travis ETN from three yds out. And the Jaguars get a bit closer. So this now a 9-point difference. You figure the book here says kick the extra point, make it a one-sore game. Now you and I have seen coaches get overly aggressive in this spot, but I agree with you. Kick it here and get back within a score. And now in a nine-point game, they’ll still just need to go for one here as this gets them back within a touchdown and a two-point conversion. 31. So that drives seven plays in length and it was Travis ETN on the touchdown reception capping the drive. Cam Middle. Here’s a Jaguar kick team now as they run up and send this one away and up to about the 26 yd line just across the 25. Here’s the Arizona offense now as they get set to take over. Their lead back down to one score after the touchdown a moment ago. First downs a must on this drive as they start out here first and 10. Looking to put a drive together. Oh, I’ve got one. Brand sets to throw it and a completion to Wilson. He’s tackled a yard short of the marker. Good gain of nine on first down. Wilson. A gain of nine. Brings up second and one at the 35 yd line. from the 35. Here’s second and a yard. Oh, wide open receiver. It’s Harrison across midfield down to the 45. They call his number again. It’s his six catch and a first down. These guys certainly are not hiding what their intention is. They’re absolutely showing it. They’re definitely not going to sit on this lead here in the fourth quarter. So in Jacksonville territory now. Here’s a first and 10 at the 45 yd line. Lette and that’s going to be too high. Out of bounds and incomplete. I see the surprise in your face there partner. That is a rare incompletion from him. He’s been on point the entire game. He has percentage completion wise way up. Not that time. Second and 10 to throw. Brous. And this one is going to be off the mark. Too far out in front. I know coaches tell us all the time that having a powerful arm isn’t the number one thing they look for in a quarterback, but when you’re trying to throw inside routes and you need to put some heat on it, it helps to have the big gun. In this case, just a little bit too much. This offense on third down today, they’ve converted seven times and could use another right now. This is third and 10. That one’s to the right side and incomplete. The frustration evident there because he couldn’t find anyone on third down and he left no doubt that he was throwing that one away. Here’s Matt Hawk now as he’ll put it away for the fourth time today. And did they keep it in? They did. They kept it in. It’s down close to the goal line at the one yd line. And out now comes Jacksonville as they get ready to go. And it feels like the momentum has shifted. They scored, then their defense forces that last punt. And now a chance to tie the game on this possession. Now ETN to start the drive and he fights forward for a modest two yd gain. Second down. They give him a lot of credit there, but even more credit to the guys up front in that situation, you know, it’s going to be a stacked defensive front and to be able to gain that much yardage, that’s a big win for the guys on offense. Yeah, they were just about standing on their own goal line. So to get a few yards there, a great start. Now we’ll see what second down brings and able to get this one out just shy of the 25 at the 24. That one a gain of 20 and a first down. First down. It’s a gain of 20 and a Jaguar first down. This possession means so much for them. They’ve got to focus on this drive and find a way to make this a one possession game. Got to get a score. Yeah. So good with a field goal. Don’t necessarily need a touchdown. Here’s Lawrence to throw. That’s caught and he’ll be taken down but not before they work it across midfield. A gain of 31 yd. That’s another Jaguars first down. A gain of 31 yds. First down Jacksonville. Now we know this offense has the potential to strike quickly and they just bit off two huge plays on backto-back snaps. So on the other side of the ball, you’ve got to go band a brother’s thought process. No one left behind. No pointing fingers, no accusations because if you don’t, those quick strikes we just saw, they become longlasting. Fourth quarter down to the final two minutes and we’ve got a one-sore game. Plenty of time. All three timeouts still remain. Here’s first and 10 now. And maybe a measure of revenge there. He’s had his way in this one, but this time they get him behind the line. take him down. Well, that was one of the few times they’ve been able to contain him thus far. He’s over 100 yardds for the game, but he lost a bit off his total on that carry. Here’s second down. Back to throw. Lawrence to the right side. Incomplete to Washington and he takes it in. Touchdown Jacksonville Parker Washington. 48 yds and the Jaguars have a chance to tie things up as they trail by two here in the fourth. So they got the touchdown they needed to cut this to two, but now they’ve got to get back to the huddle. No celebration time. Got to figure out what they’re going to do on the two-point conversion. All right, now a big two-point conversion attempt still to come. The Jaguars will line up for the two-point conver. They’re going to try and run for it. And he’s not going to get there. The defense able to come up with a big stop and they’re going to hold on to their two-point lead. Yeah, baby.
