Carolina Hurricanes at Buffalo Sabres | Game Highlights | 11.23.2025
[Music] says he likes to come back here. Gets to fish. Trip, I know you got a couple of whale tales you can share with us as the broadcast moves on. And here we go. First round pick from the Avalanche a few years ago. Now a shot by Power is winged just wide and able to get this one as Don. He’ll send it across back in the score. Good puck movement and Alex Tuck pounded it into the empty net. It’s one- nothing Buffalo on the power play to give Tuck a tap in. Puck retrieval from Don that starts the passing play. And everybody everybody thought that Mloud would shoot this puck. And pretty good pop out move there from Tuck who’s the net front guy. Keandre Miller trying to vacate the passing lane. Chance for Buffalo from Zooker. Will come outside of the net and Anderson. What a save. Oh, Mr. Anderson. How do you get a piece of that? Wait till you see what he did with his glove here. Fetchnikov all the way around for Aaho. AO kills it back. Gosh bear. Eers right to Aaho out in front with a chance. Looking at him with a stick. Puck still loose. Can’t clear. Empty net. Gust bear scores. [Applause] Lucin was down and out. The puck found Shane Gostas bear. And on the power play, the Canes have tied it at one. Contact situation here, but it looked like Malenstein was the reason for the contact. Jarvis lost his footing outside the crease. AO was driving the net. And I don’t see Carolina culpable for the reason that Lukan was down and out. I think it’s Valenstein. And Goss Bear ties the hockey game. Really good puck movement that creates the initial Jarvis chance. Goss bear settled for a split second to make sure that goal would not be blocked by Timonss. This is a good goal and the Hurricanes have knotted this thing at one with a couple of whacks there on the cloud. Good play there by the veteran for Carolina and puck finds Stanov. Tank moving across. Miller looking in. Explodes to make the save. Buffalo has been better in the second than they have been in other periods as well. A plus differential in the goal column here. Gaines will have 8 seconds left of Alex Tuck in the box for Buffalo, but couldn’t find the opening and two stout saves. And my nephews will applaud that. They’re in the building. Here’s a chance now. A tip shot that’ll be knocked away by Zucker. Played back for Byum. Back into the corner. Jason Zucker lay this one out. Move the pop and score. Jack Quinn gets to the crease and Buffalo takes the 2-1 lead. Swiss. So, it all started with Buffalo’s transition. Anderson made two or three excellent saves. Sabres continue to go to work on the for check and Carolina’s just not as tight as they typically are. Stan Coven just a minute late coverage rotating on Quinn from Walker. A minute send that back in. Reb’s had a little bit of trouble staying on his skates and move this out. Malenstein with a move in alone and he scores. Beck Malenstein did his Conor McDavid imitation. That’s a killer hard rim moving the puck all the way around the ward. You get a really good play made just inside the blue line of Buffalo by Krebs and then Malenstein catches Aaho that was indecisive. You know it it was like Aaho was halfway between trying to play the puck and being puck focused and not. Sebastian had the chance. And it was a great one. The first commercial timeout you were going on the power play looked like you settled in right after that tribute and he agreed. That’s when his game took off with a long reach of Samuelson. Plays that one around the boards. Gaspar tried to get it past Thompson. Can’t. Thompson moving with an empty net. He’ll get it right back from Benson. Thompson. He’ll score into the empty net. Tage Thompson with that goal. a sixgame goal streak. That’s a careerhigh and will be with 21.1 seconds left of 4-1 Buffalo. I saw former Hurricane Kevin Adams right before the game and he spoke about how excited he was to get Benson back in the lineup. 14-4 with his shots on goal. 7 seconds left here as Carolina with one last push and Lukan will swap that one away. The horn goes.
