THEY CAME BACK FROM DOWN 11 TO SAVE THE SEASON | Kansas City Chiefs Vs Indianapolis Colts

Okay, wild ending to the Chiefs Colts game. Obviously, ton a ton on the line here as the Chiefs have to fight to make sure they can make the playoffs at five and five. Colts trying to get the one seed at 8-2. Let’s pause right here to set the stage. Uh so the Chiefs just scored a touchdown and got the two-point conversion. It was 20 to9. It’s now 20 to 17. Colts kind of trying to decide if they should go for it on fourth down and four. You know, if they convert, they’re they’re in field goal range and can work some more clock. Ultimately, you see they do not. They decide to play it safe and just go for the drawing them off sides, then take the five yard penalty, pin the Chiefs deep, and it works out. I mean, they get the Chiefs to around the I believe around the six-yd line. The Chiefs lose three yards. They’re now facing a second and 13. And again, they don’t have to go for it here. Uh if they don’t if you know, if it gets to four uh fourth down, they can kick a field goal. But like it’s a tough situation here for the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes takes a snap. you know, uh, the defender gets free, almost hits him, but just before he does, it’s Rasheed Rice. First, he makes the catch, so they pick up the first down, which is already a big deal. But not just that. Watch him then break a tackle in open space. He gets them all the way to midfield. And again, you’re only down three. They now just need a field goal to ultimately uh, you know, to to take the lead. Obviously, you’re thinking maybe a touchdown to to or you a field goal tie. You’re thinking a touchdown to take the lead. Although, they only gained seven yards in the next three plays. It’s a fourth down and three right here. So again, they need someone to step up and once again it’s the guy who was suspended for the first six games of this season. Watch Mahomes flip it to Rasheed Rice had tons of protection as well. Rasheed Rice again so tough to tackle in open space. Gets the first down and again gets them well within field goal range and now you’re thinking can you get seven take the you know take the lead here. And ultimately over here there was a decision that had to be made for the uh for the Colts and the Chiefs here. For the Colts like do you let them score here? Because obviously you want to hold them to three and not let the Chiefs take the lead. But if they don’t score on this play, they can burn an extra 40 seconds and take a ton of the clock off. With a minute 5 seconds, you at least have a chance with no timeouts. I think it’s the right call to try and stop him uh here, but it’s not the worst thing in the world if you’re the Chiefs and you uh you know uh don’t get the yardage here. You see that uh and this ends up being why. So they get the stop here. They end up getting Mahomes stopped on third down as well. So the Colts defense survives that final drive. Definitely looked uh scary at the time, but ultimately they were able to survive and at the very least get overtime uh here, assuming that the Chiefs make the field goal, which they did. So that uh sends it 2020 to overtime. So now we have overtime. And you know, it’s worth mentioning the decision here, right? the Colts decide to uh they win the toss, they decide to keep the ball. And there’s arguments for and against each. We’ve seen teams do it differently here where some teams elect to kick the ball because that way they can, you know, play off of whatever happens on the other side. Like for example, uh in the Giants uh Lions game, the Lions scored an opening uh touchdown in overtime. Then the Giants could go for it on fourth down. They knew they had to there, right? Although for the Colts who have the ball now, they’re thinking, “Hey, the Chiefs defense is tired and who knows how long this overtime period will go. You know, with only 10 minutes, sometimes it’s not the worst idea to have the ball first.” Here though, on third and one, Jonathan Taylor gets blown up. Credit to this Chiefs defense, which was so good down the stretch here, getting the stop. So now the uh Chiefs uh end up getting the football in their own territory though. Now they got a first down pretty quickly. But here at third and one, if it’s fourth and one, the Chiefs have gone for some fourth and ones. This would be a risky one if they don’t get it, right? It would basically lose the game if they don’t. So, you assume they would decide to uh, you know, punt if they don’t get this first. However, they do convert. So, they get the first down there. Although, again, Colts defense battling on first and second down. Force a third down and seven here for the Kansas City Chiefs. So, you know, again, for the Colts, you just get to stop here and you’re fine. The Colts are going to blitz. Hope that their secondary can can cover here. But watch Mahomes on this play. I mean, he’s going to step up under pressure. Perfect throw to Xavier Worthy. They get another play with Rasheed Rice. Ultimately are able to get in field goal range and win the football game. I mean, just a crazy gutsy win for a team that absolutely needed it in the Kansas City Chiefs uh to improve to six and five. And all of a sudden, the playoff picture doesn’t seem so difficult now, does it? Still still plenty of work to be done, but would have been really tough if they lost this one.

  1. Hopefully you chief's fan kissed the officials. Because colts had to play 11 players and the officials today. They calls were mostly against the colts. They should firer the officials.

  2. How did this save the season? As if they couldnโ€™t have lost this game and still won 6 in a row to finish 11-6 and make the playoffs. A lot easier to make the playoffs since thereโ€™s now 7 teams in each league that make the playoffs

  3. @4:13 Perfect throw to Worthy? Are you on COKE?? That was a barely catch able ball. Worthy proved his worth by contorting his body to catch that poop ball. Please take the Mahomes rod out of your mouth before making a stupid statement like that.

  4. Indiana Jones turned into Danny Fumbles again. Sheesh. I really expected Colts to take it with 10pt lead. Ugh. Dischargers are useless as Overhyped Fraudbert will fizzle out like stale balloon air and Bo Nix is only hope along with other teams now. Ugh

  5. Monumental effort just to win in overtime by a field goal. Hardly a convincing win. And the Colts seem to think they are better without JT running the ball.

  6. So many Chief's 4th quarter games where the opponent is charged with a couple 15 yard flags and the momentum switches. Teams have to learn to stay away from Chief receivers, otherwise out come the flags

  7. i dont want to be a downer but if Mahomes plays like he did those 1st 3 qtrs going forward the chiefs wont have a chance at making the playoffs. he gotta be better man he was missing open receivers, missing reads and bailing out of the pocket when he wasnt pressured.

  8. Sucks that sports betting and the NFL being in bed with those companies and massive multi billion dollar media empires sort of makes it clear who they want to succeed and who they don't. They can't have the Chiefs fail, think about all the lost revenue. It's a joke. Did the Colts blow it? Yeah. Just like how wrestlers blow it, it's all scripted and manipulated. There's wayyyyyy too much money to let things truly play out. Not saying it's fully "rigged" but (other than injuries) everything in the game is guided, influenced, nudged, closely monitored

  9. They have the least number of points scored against them in the league. They have been lacking in offense which is a completely bipolar season from when Mahomes started.

  10. Finally ran the ball & Spags redeemed himself from last week's debacle. Patrick needs to stay in the pocket and trust his guys and not rush through his progressions as they become open.

  11. Lmao. The colts chocked. The Chiefs played like crap till the end of the game. They are still in trouble. And still out of the playoffs at the moment.
