Another team to watch is the Giants, who had the first Japanese-born player in Major League history (Masanori Murakami in 1964) but haven’t dipped into that market for a notable player in decades. General manager Zack Minasian has taken several trips to Japan to scout players including Yamamoto and Sasaki, so he is familiar with the current crop of free agents. One industry source believes the Giants “will get somebody out of this mix.”

I wish they would stop this bullshit!
The Mariners were the team that brought Ichiro. Over and over they remain uninvolved. Curious.
I do not think murakamis bat will play in the major leagues, and there’s no spot in the lineup for him to play. This feels like a landmine to me.
Only interested in Imai tbh
Posey and company PLEASE get Imai. I will do my due diligence and buy your 25$ beers and crab sandwiches.
“Major player” 🤌
Major player for the players to get more from the Dodgers
Due diligence, kicking the tires.
Signing Imai 7 years, $150M + posting fee) and Ponce (3 years/$30M), plus bringing Tyler Rogers back home (2 years/$22M) would be an incredible off-season. “A” calibre. Plus trading fringe guys like Matos, Luciano and Meckler for different, younger prospects. Maybe even a lefty reliever.
To get to a realistic A+ offseason (Tucker nor Bichette are coming to SF), add Scherzer as veteran pitching depth/ quasi pitching coach. And one more bullpen arm: optimally Devin Williams. But probably a guy like Seranthony Dominguez (2 years/$15M), or a lefty reliever we’ve never even heard of lol.
LF Kwan (Cleveland) and LHSP Bubic (Royals) would also be nice additions, but all depends on how much the Giants have to give up in trade capital.
Please guys, let’s not fall for this again ok?
