So, hi everyone. Oh, hello. Wait, why does it say I’m offline? You’re on the air. You’re good. What? Yes, I see you. Wait, where’s my video? Uh oh. Oh, you’re you’re on. You see you see Dana on. You are live. We are live. I can’t see me. No. Can you see me? I can see you. Yes. Great. Yes. Okay. Well, I guess everyone except me gets to see me. Just that kind of night. You look lovely today. Wait, let’s get the zoom in. And I feel like a clown. You feel like a clown? No, you can’t. No, just watching the whole game, I felt like a clown. No, not like in No, my hair I feel very proper and professional. That’s not what I meant. Why is that? Uh, it was a doozy. Yeah. No, Tyler were made as you said. Oh, yeah. It was not the prettiest game to uh for sure, Tyler. No. Oh, no it was not. Uh there were periods of time, well a period I would say of time that the Sharks were looking rather strong, but uh definitely seemed to tail off towards the end. Gotcha. All right. Uh so let’s get addict. Uh Big Bird coming in hot saying sucks. Yeah, he scored a goal and he has done nothing special and since actually helped in sense. Can we get Can we instead please get a replacement? Not going to happen right now. Double A coming in odd as well. Uh fire Warso. This guy cannot win against Canadian teams for at all. Uh if Warso is coach when we return to the playoffs when we face a Canadian team, we’re so screwed. I don’t know what it would be about a Canadian team. Uh, I thought it didn’t help that some of the calls weren’t exactly the best, uh, in the Shark’s favor early on. Um, so, uh, it was a large sample size. Yeah, I I think the I think the juryy’s still out on that. Uh, so we shall see what is going on. Steve Recctor saying, “Fair result. They were just better. uh we couldn’t make a play or win a face off to save your save our lives. I kind of agree with that guys. Uh the faceoff wise they’re struggling. They I mean I’m trying to look at the shot totals on here because you know my Wi-Fi of course is working fantastically on this night. Um, but it was just a tough one to take and and uh I don’t know what what I mean 19 shots. We need to produce some more offense a little bit more. This would have been so much worse without Ned. Yeah, the I know people are already bringing it up, especially on the power play. Like the thing that absolutely sunk to Sharks today is just being unable to connect passes. So often we’re just trying to force a pass through because we’re like, “Oh, it’s worked against other teams and it did not work today.” So, all right. So, let’s uh get at it. Of course, let’s begin with the no goal call. Uh looked like Will Smith had the uh opening goal, but it was taken back for the offsides. Unfortunately, they didn’t show the replay here in the building. Uh Dan, I’ll start with you. What did you see? That it was beautiful. That Yes, that’s for sure. That’s what I saw. And you know what? Like I I got I’m back to my postits. They’re not as spicy as you know, maybe cuz I couldn’t stop. I was like, I’m not going to keep writing down all these penalties. I’m literally like there’s a forest of trees worth of penalties in this game. But yeah, it’s just like beautiful cross out. Nope. Offside. Nope. Um I hate having to cross out Sharks goal. Uh but yeah. Oh, that that was beautiful. What is it with Will Smith and being involved in goals? Beautiful goals or almost goals that don’t pan out. One day. One day. Anything to add, Tyler? No. Uh, I know you did ask the question because you were unable to see it at the game uh yourself. He did jump a little bit early. Uh, there was a very similar one that happened. I can’t remember if that was a Sharks game or if it was like a Carolina game or something like that, but he was just about a half step too early entering the zone. U, I can’t say that it really affected the play. I mean, their play was was excellent. uh placing themselves in great location, working on getting the rebounds and everything like that. Uh beautiful pass from Celebrating Straight to Smith, but unfortunately it was a good coach’s challenge. Or was it a coach challenge or was it uh Toronto? No, no, they immediately were like Yeah, this was offside. Yeah. So, no score there. Uh unfortunately, uh Philip Kuresev was unhappy about a hit uh that he took from Jake Sanderson. Uh kind of hugged Jake Sanderson a bit. If anything, I thought it would have been called interference. Instead, they call it roughing, which was just a head scratcher to everybody in the building. Uh and then of course, Ottawa would take advantage of it uh early on with uh Dylan Cousins getting the power play goal from Stutzla and Sanderson. Uh, Stitsla would have a nice night indeed for Ottawa to make it one- nothing. Of course, why would it be any other way and Zerlin, why would it be any other? Okay, at some point later, I’m going to get on a soap box about this. You’re going to get on your soap box. We’ll shove that. So, that made it one- nothing Ottawa. But then the Sharks would come back with a power play of their own. John Clingberg uh for the for I guess I guess we’re starting to make a Clingberg hater uh or not now. I mean I think the fan base is pretty much divided in that sense. Gets a nice shot on goal. Gets gets past uh uh uh why can I think of why Mark? Thank you. Uh yeah to uh make it 1-1. Tyler, what did you think of of the tying goal for the Sharks? Uh well, I mean, I will fully admit that I am uh part of the uh I guess growing community of not only just hating for John Clingberg, but have a history of hating Sharks offensive defenseman. I see a pattern here, my friend. Yeah. H uh but anyways, uh this was uh I mean, there’s not really anything wrong with this play. It was a beautiful shot. Great um uh blocking vision from uh by Wenberg. He placed it right in the corner. And yeah, I mean it’s not like there was anything wrong on this power play. This one was probably the best power play, which is not saying much considering it’s the only one they scored on. Um but uh yeah, this this one was a beautiful shot and ties it up one uh after one. Uh still a little hesitancy with the team so far. Uh second period uh after I think this was a after a penalty on the Sharks had expired uh the Sharks would uh Marty T. Uh Dana, can you spare some hair for your co-host? Hey hey hey Marty. Marty. Oh my gosh. I certainly can. So, it’s all good. All right. Here. I’m starting to If anything, I’m going to go with even less. Okay. Oh, apparently my stepmom says my braids are cute. I’m told your braids are They’re not braids. I don’t know what you call this, but I got this at Claire’s today cuz I heard you were wearing teal hair, and I’m like, hold up, hold my Celsius. I mean, if you want, I can go and grab my Saitama jacket. Why not? You’re bald. You’re a be Tyler. You’re all good, my friend. No. No. One Punch Man is bald. That is not That doesn’t mean anything. All good. Hey, we started this podcast with with with a with Oh jeez. They just tied it up, gang. Let’s go. Oh, man. Damn. That’s wild. Look, I’m I’m I’m working on hard things. Okay. You know, okay. Oh jeez. When they when they when when they don’t score and that thing goes off, not expecting it. All right. I was going to say, can someone look up what percentage of this game was um five on five? Yeah. two there. There was a lot of penalties here on this one. Um, sorry. I’ll stop interrupting you. Please. I No, you’re good. Math wizards out there, please let me know. I I need to know. Let’s see. So, I mean, Ottawa would take three penalties plus Kurashv’s first and then then it would be vice versa where the Sharks take three penalties and then uh an Ottawa goal uh or Ottawa penalty. Uh so there’s eight. We’ll go with another four there. So I mean 12 12 penalties times 2 24. So yeah nearly uh nearly uh 24 and 60. I mean someone do the math. I mean yeah uh yeah and Felix say is saying it in the chat. There were more there were so many power plays and I gave up gifting them eventually. Yeah. So two fifths of the game if you want the uh mathematics. So was even strength or was was was uh there was a penalty. So 40% of the game was way less than I thought. 40% of the game was uh on a power play. A lot to clean up. Uh I think and Dana, I’ll begin with you and and refer to the notes if you possibly can. I will. Uh my is it me? But since that road trip and yes, they got a win in Minnesota, they lost to Calgary, lost to Seattle. This team seems a little tired. Yeah, I would agree. um not to throw Lilligrin under the bus, but uh he had some sloppy events um this game that I don’t know kind of gave that um was the Ottawa goal you were talking about the Zetterland goal cuz again I just I this this is why I was setting you up for the Zerland goal. So amazing. You my I I for the most part like I have, you know, like many Sharks fans, like I think Mike Greer makes really has made really good moves. Some of which that I haven’t even come to appreciate until later. I don’t know if Zetterland leaving will ever really like like I mean, who knows in the future? I don’t was there a draft pick in there somewhere? I I don’t remember. But and like no shade to stop Chuck, but like why did we get rid of it? He had such great chemistry with the guys and like he hasn’t been doing great on Ottawa, but of course he comes here and scores. Yeah. So that that I think that’s the biggest thing is like it’s just a really weird trade because Yeah. As much as he wasn’t like some absolutely fantastic player with us, it’s that he’s shown that he really has been struggling elsewhere and we really did not get a lot for the return. I do know that we got Noah Greor and Otopchuk in the trade. No one was that good of a player last year like Yeah. And I don’t remember there being another draft pick. I think it was just the two of them. It was the second and Oh, stop Chuck. What about Noah Greger? Wasn’t he a part of that trade? And Noah Greger. Yes. Okay. So, there was a second. I mean, yes. Okay. Forgot about Noah Greger. Thank you. Whatever. Whatever. That’s beside the point. I miss Zutterland. Yeah. What I’m trying to say in so many words. It’s just a weird trade to have made because it didn’t really feel like it gave us any of real note. No. How old is he? He’s like He’s a young He’s in fairly youngster. younger than me for sure is apparently 26. Okay. I thought he was a little younger but still according to uh Barz it’s the draft pick that became Cole McKini. Yeah. Yeah. So whatever. And then Osapek is a 22-year-old the And see this is the tough part and it and I I had a feeling when he came back and he was going to he was going to score tonight and then unfortunately you would get all the all the you know people who are upset about the trade Dana included of course uh about hey you know he still has value he’s been playing in the bottom six for a lot of the time in in Ottawa tonight or this since he’s been acquired. And it’s just surprising because you saw him flourish here so much that, you know, you would think it was going to be um uh just look like, ooh, this might be a little slanted in favor of Ottawa. So, you know, yeah, it it’s really interesting what could have been if we had kept him. I don’t know how well he would have been uh with, you know, the new lines and everything like that. We’ll never know. But it’s definitely it was strange just trading a player that albeit maybe was a big question mark, he still was doing well here. Oh, I completely agree. So Zetterland’s goal would make it 2-2 after Barkley Goodro. Did somebody say no, we didn’t um get it. some point. Can we talk about the Reeves Hodgson fight? You want to by all I do. I It is crazy to me that Toronto like had Reeves what last year or the year before. Like I cannot the fit between Reeves and the Leafs. I don’t we did not deserve him. Um the Sharks do I love that man. It is what a world we live in where, you know, Reeves drops the gloves and he’s on our team and we’re cheering for him. Like, I love that. Like, Hodson was, you know, causing trouble. Reeves said, “All right, like let’s go.” Um, right. God, I know. I I love Reeves so much. I know it’s said, it’s been said a billion times, locker room guy, this that, but like you know, he at one point, didn’t he have more goals than McDavid? Like a few games into the semester semester. I’m so you are you you are in you are your head is so anime night we’re all in school or something like that I don’t know so no but no I love him and I I love that he did that he took care of business and and he defended his boys which of course you know that’s the biggest thing you know I mean and we talk about that hit I mean from the stands with you know my girlfriend Amanda and her son Nick were at the game and we both went, “Hey,” right off the bat there and it looked ser looked awful at first, but uh I was surprised he came back out as quickly as he did and he got an assist later. Yeah. On on the on the uh go-ahead goal by Barkley Goodro. Uh that was 2-1. Zetterland made it 2-2. Uh and then in the third period, again, back and forth and they’re just like in the chat. I I forget who said it, but thank you for saying it. Uh the um there was no rhythm to this game. There was no consistency in this game, which I think I think threw off everybody, but it favored a more veteranladen Ottawa squad. Yeah, relatively speaking. round Ottawa squad that they’ve been working together more and they’re able to deal with that just kind of they know where the others are going to be even in a weird situation. Um because again what killed the Sharks is they couldn’t make a pass in the offensive zone to save their lives after the first period. Yeah, that’s what I meant about feeling like a clown. It made me It was secondhand embarrassment. Ah, yes. Shadow and Freud, if I’m not mistaken. Oh my gosh. I thought that was when someone else was suffering and you feel good about it. Well, that’s right. That’s Shad and Fre. What’s the word? I don’t know. The Germans have a word for everything. So, um, we can call up almost shark Timmy Stuts and ask him if he has a word for that. Almost. And on that note, oh, and on that note, great segue, Dave. Good job. And on that note, unfortunately, we talk about the game-winning goal which came with about 6 and 1/2 minutes to go where two senators go past it. Nadelovic is drowning outside his crease and Stutzla gets in there for the game-winning goal, which the save though. I know the save and then I’m sorry, Clingberg, how do you miss that? You guys know when you like trip or something and like that half second when you realize you tripped and then you’re like it feels like it happens in slow motion. Like that half second you feel like you see every like frame. That’s how I felt when we saw the puck not cross the line. I was like, “Oh, Klingberg’s going to get Nope. Nope. No, no. And not necessarily on Clingberg’s fault, per se, but like Oh, that’s just But it’s an ongoing thing of the Sharks not clearing. Well, I mean, this is a little bit more than just clearing the crease, but we’ve not been able to clear the crease on any rebounds, whether it was early games when we were complaining about um Ascarov’s bad rebounds. Uh, I mean, there was the goal a couple days ago where we weren’t clearing the crease and they got the the puck out of the air. Um, it’s just the Sharks are struggling with clearing the crease and this is just another one of those and I I’m pulling up. Jules, thank you for jumping in here uh to send it to me. But the pain the pain of of that’s how close it is. and and Muka Madullan takes out his guy and can’t get it. And then Stutsla uh comes and crashes in and gets the winning goal, but that’s just a painful picture to look at. Like my god. Um Bertz is saying that we missed the super chat. I thought I thought we got that. It was early on in the uh Nope. Uh oh, Bart Bartz. Sorry, fam. I still don’t know how to pronounce your name, but I love you. Uh, Clingberg didn’t clear it because he had the Ottawa money. No, don’t make accusations about Ottawa players. We don’t need that in baseball. We don’t need that in hockey. Right. Right. So, oh, that’s a tough and painful one uh to lose it on. So, the Sharks will lose this one 3 to2. couldn’t get a face off to go with them and couldn’t get uh you know a chance to really sit up per se and we had a couple chances literally just a few minutes into the game if not like at puck drop. Someone tell me when exactly that happened but I literally wrote down Hunter kept saying so was the number one faceoff team in the NHL. He also mentioned that they have the worst road penalty kill which you could have fooled me. Um, but I I guess I just love Han Hunter was psychic about like faceoffs being such a problem in this game. That’s why Randy Han is the GOAT. I Yes. Yes. Uh Ottawa with a dominant 61.1% faceoff win uh on tonight. Uh both teams gave up a power play goal on five chances. Uh just just uh it’s it’s tough because it’s it’s one of those games that remind you from last year. It’s like you’re right on the cusp and literally you’re right on the cusp. So what’s that meme like images taken moments before disaster? Oh yeah. So a tough one indeed. uh for that. I know the Barracuda are underway right now. Uh haven’t seen anything from there just yet. So, we’ll keep you posted, but as we wind down here, oh, never mind. Tiger saying Cuda are already down a goal versus the dumpster fire. Abbottzford connects Ellis’s new. Well, score more. Uh you make it sound so simple, Tyler. I I I wish. Hey, we had the uh we had the sharks uh goals earlier. Kiss. Keep it simple, stupid. Right. Oh jeez. Oh, thank you, Jerry. Jerry, thank you very much, my friend. Uh $2. Thanks again for the awesome coverage. Thank you very much, Jerry. Appreciate you. We also do have comment uh coming according to Felix from Tim Stutzla or Yeah, on Zetland. Yeah, gotcha. Thanks, Felix. Uh Stutzler on Zetland getting his second goal of the season. I would say he’s struggled. He’s gotten a lot of looks. He’s playing the right way. Wow. Is he Warsovski or, you know, uh he’s checking really hard. He goes right to the right areas and yeah, just great to see him get rewarded, but I wouldn’t say he struggled at all. Well, are you putting him in the right spot for him to be successful is how I would look at it in Ottawa because I mean we’ve seen him be on the cusp of like almost 20 goals on hand and and you know not exactly uh you know that didn’t come from just playing like from celebration too. uh tonight when they showed him on the screen. Well, and so do we want to talk about what seems to be or at least in my mind it’s something I’ve noticed that uh I know people have been complaining about Smith’s play, but how people aren’t me. How have you been feeling about Kurv on that line? I don’t feel he’s got much chemistry with them. He has moments. Um, but I I don’t think that I mean I don’t stick and be like, “Okay, that’s the guy with with them.” Now, the question being, do you move Ekkan up there again? Uh, I don’t know if to got to be battling something, but he he continues to deny it. But so, we’ll take that as it may. Uh, he was on the second line tonight, so I don’t know. I I feel like right now there’s just not really a perfect third member of that line. So yeah, I’ve He’s been doing so well, but I felt like his play on the second line has been better than his play on the first. Um I do know that we have injuries that uh are kind of shuffling around those lines, right? Um, but I I especially liked uh early into the season, what was it like when Kersev and Skinner was a line I think at one point that was working well together. Was that before Skinner? Yeah, that was before the injury. Um, so I I don’t know. I just haven’t been feeling that Kershaw’s been having the the most uh chemistry with uh Smith and Cabbrini. Yeah. Which is which is frustrating indeed, you know. Um, but I mean I’m trying to pull it up from earlier today. So, no morning skate because of the late afternoon start, but I know uh I I want to say it was Max, it was Max, Shing, and Curtis all said, you know, uh, you know, they they don’t look they’re not too far off with uh Skinner and Misa. Of course, we’ve mentioned many times that, you know, Misa is probably closer uh or that excuse me, Scanner is closer to coming back versus Misa. Let me get let me get that correctly. Uh accurate there. Um so, next 7 to 10 days. Fingers crossing. I mean, always have some help here. Uh that’s what I’m saying. If it’s not Kurishv, then who? Like, right now, I there’s just not a perfect Oh, yeah. right now. I I’m not sure who you move up. The only other option is Ekkund. Um, and we know that Ekkund’s not always been the best guy with the both of them, but there’s not a lot of options uh at the moment. I mean, we’re missing probably the only other option that was available in Skinner, right? So, we shall see what happens. Of course, we’re right back at it tomorrow. the Sharks take on the Boston Bruins. I would assume we’re going to see uh Ascarov and Ned. Uh I mean Ned played played fairly well. Gave up three goals. Yes. But uh you know I’m I’m sad his he deserves a save percentage above 889. I mean let’s be honest that third goal he he did make the save. He got the he got the kick out and he was able to at least knock the stick away. I don’t know if it counted as officially a save. So, yeah, that’s a rough one that to for him to to to get dinged against him for. Yeah. So, that should do it for us uh on this night as I’m prepping to be tackled by Blue Coat shortly. So, not literally, but you know, you know what I mean. So, in case you missed this or you want to watch this again, check us out on tealtownusa.com or wherever you get your podcast. The audio version will be up shortly. You can always follow us on the YouTube channel. So, hit that like button, hit that subscribe button, uh, and hit that notification bell. That’ll let you know when we do go on the air. So, thank you very much for watching. Uh, Dana, I will leave you with your final thoughts and anything you missed on your post-it notes. Um, Steve, I love the idea of Clingber and I don’t know, man. I don’t know. That’s funny. No, I’m sure I I believe in Asky to I I don’t know if ASI could have won this game tonight for the Sharks, so you know, is what it is. But I hope Ned uh gets a lot of apologies from the team. Um, I also want to I we mentioned this earlier, but I want to give another shout out to Ferraro um for coming back from whatever the heck that was. Um and um you know assisting on um oh my god I already forgot who uh Goodie. Oh right because it was Wenberg and I got changed to Goodie. But yeah um shout out to Ferraro. Um and someone booed the Canadian anthem. What don’t listen it’s it’s it’s word being shenaniganary. All right. All right then. Those are my thoughts. There you go. Dana. Thank you my dear. Uh Tyler before we get out of here. Uh, not too much for the game. Um, definitely wanting some of these injuries back cuz some of our call-ups aren’t working out too much. Um, and other than that, we still need to figure out what we’re doing on defense. Uh, still missing Dickinson. Uh, well, not missing Dickinson. He’s just a scratch today. But, uh, uh, well, it was a rough defensive game today. We were struggling to get out of our zone. It’ll be interesting to see what happens because you have Iorio who I think has finished up with his conditioning stint. We’ll see how that goes. You also have uh Sam Dickinson having a development day. So now we need to know uh what’s going to happen there. definitely going to probably have some changes uh in the lineup for tomorrow which kind of helped things out a little bit gang because I have some fresh legs coming in against Boston. So Boston and yeah, Tiger saying IO is playing today. So uh I mean I doubt that they would have him come up and play three and three uh if he’s with the Sharks. So unless there’s an absolute craziness going on there. So all right, with that we’ll get out of here. We’ll remind you that tomorrow this game is at 5:00 p. p.m. It’s a pucknologist takeover. So AJ and I will be taking over the game. We’ll recap that game plus the week that was in Sharks hockey. So until then, thank you for watching and then keep it real. Keep it teal. Keep it Wait, no, I shouldn’t be doing this. Tyler, you said you had something for for me, so I’ll let you take it home. And that means what? Keep it real. Keep it teal. Keep it real, too. Have a good night, everyone.

  2. i would really like to hear yall talk about smiths play. I don’t think he’s been terrible in any way and definitely feel like he’s getting better and feeling a little more confident just has had some bad luck recently but i do feel like when i watch him there’s one glaring thing that bothers me which is anything he gets a pass to him he can’t get it or he can’t locate it and loses the pucks a lot. just not much control and not much paying attention. i haven’t watched hockey very long so maybe it’s just a me thing but it’s so frustrating that probably 5 times a game macklin passes to him and he just can’t get it and keep it going. I guess u could say that for a lot of the team bc they don’t pass to each other very well in general like yall said but it’s every single game with Will. Like i feel like ive watched him get more comfortable taking some chances but he also looks like he’s nervous to shoot it sometimes. Idk it’s just interesting with him bc i don’t think he’s played bad at all but it’s that one thing that’s incredibly frustrating game to game. he too often seems to get a little lost or tangled up when they’re in the opponents zone. I also just wish he went after the puck a little more or played a little more physical. He’s not fighting for the puck enough on the sides or checking anyone. He’s not chasing after pucks hard enough. he tends to kind of just let wtv happen to him. Granted i think defensively he’s looked good recently when it comes to getting stops but every other area i just think he needs more work. I will always think Will and mack should be on the first line together that’s not debatable but i do wonder if it’d do harm to get mack with the other guys. i mean idk if they miss the playoffs then maybe the end of the year just get the guys comfortable with mack on their line and shuffle him around bc if we’re being honest this is his team yk and he’s ur guy so i think they need to learn to play with him so that in the event of these line changes and injuries there’s chemistry there already and obviously try to maybe move a few other guys around too. But if there’s an injury we already know mack the one that’s going to be getting more playing time etc. I just think it’s frustrating to see these guys not have chemistry with each other except for will and mack. none of them can sense where their teammates are at 60% of the time or their just not in position so they can’t take advantage of anything. But yeah idk i would just be interested in what yall think

  3. Thanks for the shout, puckguy. Much love from the Santa Rosa Zombie. Come up to Snoopy's home ice sometime. It's an amazing rink. You all do an amazing job. Keep up. Keep real, keep it teal, keep it real teal. Cheers.
