POSTGAME: Arizona Cardinals BLOW Overtime SHOT With Horrendous 4th Down Play Call Vs Jaguars

The Arizona Cardinals, despite four defensive takeaways, blow a game in embarrassing fashion against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fumbling an opportunity before regulation and fumbling an opportunity in overtime. Is it finally time for heads to roll for this Cardinals offense that seemingly blows it every week? Is it finally time for Jonathan Ganon to fire his friend, buddy, and confidant Drew Petting after seemingly fumbling multiple opportunities to beat the Jags. We just got through kind of absorbing the end of that game. The Cardinals had an opportunity to win the game at the end of regulation. Michael Wilson catches a go route, gets down easily inside the 20, spikes the ball, realizes he’s made a mistake, has the wherewithal, grabs the ball, runs it back to the huddle. Cardinals have no timeouts left. They do, however, in that scenario have about 20 18 to 20 seconds left. It was over 20 seconds. Jacobe Brassette is lined up in the shotgun. The coaching staff does not realize that they can run up and clock the ball and give themselves opportunity to collect themselves to I don’t know run a play or gasp two plays before they kick the field goal. Like that to me was unfathomable. Then they blow that. They don’t snap the ball or excuse me clock the ball. They go to overtime. The defense gets bailed out because the Jags Tim Patrick is running a wheel route and he’s not looking for the football. So, they give up a field goal to Cam Little. The Cardinals are driving beyond midfield. It’s second and four. Underneath pass to Greg Dorch. No gain. Underneath pass covered Greg Dorch. Incomplete. It’s fourth and four. You have two timeouts. You guys are exhausted. Take a flipping timeout. You don’t get to keep them next week. Michael Wilson redhot. Trey McBride redhot. The designed play call, and this is going to be argued and the Cardinals are going to walk this back. Watch it again. The designed play call is Jacobe Brassette in shotgun. No pressure. Throwing deep to undrafted rookie free agent from a year ago, undrafted player out of Colorado, Xavier Weaver in double coverage and complete the game’s over. You have to go back to the before regulation was over. You have to start that because granted, horrible mistake by Michael Wilson of the celebration, right? There’s times running off. You have no timeouts. bad mistake. Okay, you realize it late, you get the ball, you get it to the referee, there’s still 20 plus seconds on the clock. Yeah. If you spike this football, you have the ball spiked with, let’s say, 15 seconds on the clock. You’re inside the what, 15 yardd line at this point, 20 yardd line, you’re in the red zone. You will have 15 seconds with second down coming on to play, right? That gives you two opportunities to throw the ball at the end zone. Yep. Right. You don’t get it, then you kick the field goal. Understandable. We go to overtime. But the choice to one, again, the mistake, right? And you got to know as Michael Wilson, you got to know the situation. You went to Stanford. He’s got to be back. You got to know the situation. You can’t spike and do the do the whole first down signal. You got to understand where you’re at. But again, if you spike this football, you have two opportunities. Yeah. To go. You have two opportunities to try to score a touchdown. Regardless, wash it. You made it. You made the field goal. You got to overtime. Now, all of this aside, it’s fourth down and four. Yeah. You have and you’re at the edge. You’re at the edge of field goal range. You’d be like, “This is one where, you know, it could be made, could be missed. We don’t trust Chad to make a bomb like Cam Little.” But it’s fourth and fourth. And we we just discussed this off air. The play design to throw a Hail Mary jump ball on fourth and four. That was the play call. That wasn’t a decision by the quarterback to throw it. That was the play call. The play call was, “Hey, let’s just we we we’re going to fool them and beat them deep. We’re going to do it on fourth down. They’re not they’re expecting us to throw underneath. We’re going to catch them in man coverage. We’re gonna fool him and throw it deep. That is an incompetent offensive coordinator. Incompetent. And that is in my perspective a waterfall from your head coach because your head coach has defended this. Yeah. And said this is the guy we need. This is the the scheme that’s going to work. We all got fooled with the goaudy numbers that Jacobe Brassette is putting up, right? albeit a lot of it’s garbage time, but the offensive coordinator position and the offensive play calling is atrocious and JG has continuously defended this. This is the waterfall where you just are okay and that starts ownership too, right? This is the waterfall effect from ownership to GM to head coach to coordinator to playing, right? It’s bad and it’s continuously bad and it’s the feeling of I’m okay with mediocrity. That’s the program and the franchise that you’re running here and that’s why you’re in this situation that that Xavier Weaver play that almost look like a that’s like Marv’s route. That’s you thought you had Marv in that scenario. That it doesn’t matter if it is Marv. I don’t care if you got Justin Jefferson or DK Metaf or Larry Fitzgerald. I don’t care who you are. It’s a low percentage play. That’s a low percentage play. Especially when you were praying that they were going to come out and blitz the house and run cover zero and maybe you get one-on-one and there was three defensive backs back there. You you like you can lose games. I mean it’s not a good look, but you can lose games and you can say to yourself like we gave it our best. We overcame adversity blah blah blah. when you are losing games because you are not well coached offensively and you have players that we think very highly of in Michael Wilson who’s smart spiking the football that’s a reflection of you it’s not a reflection of the player it’s a Michael Wilson let’s get let’s get through it X-factor play of the game Michael Wilson Michael Wilson over 100 yards on 10 10 receptions on 15 targets 118 yards fantastic he’s been fantastic the last two weeks he he the past two weeks He’s I look at this target-wise in the last two weeks, Michael Wilson has 33 targets. He had 18 targets last week. If the Cardinals were buttoned up offensively, Michael Wilson wouldn’t have spiked the ball. Jacobe Brassette would have grabbed everybody and said, “Get your ass over here under center. Spike, reconvene, have an opportunity to score a touchdown.” And they had they looked completely lost. They didn’t even look like they’ve ever practiced that. High school teams practiced that. Under two minutes left. Two-minute drill. Hurry up offense. Let’s go. We get a big completion. Run down field. Spike the ball. I’m sitting there watching there on the live stream. Why are they not spiking the football? We’re practicing that in 12. I mean that you cannot allow Drew Petting six more games with this team. I I’m I’m I’m sick of it. You want to make it there there are people who are close to the Cardinals who are making excuses because he’s he’s missed a lot of players. I get that. But you you cannot first of all the offense was terrible today. They they scored how many points? They scored 24 points or whatever it was, but the offense but they but the defense had a touchdown. They scored 17 points today and they had four takeaways. Three, two of which were interceptions deep in the other team’s territory. Didn’t matter. I I I cannot If I’m John and Ganon, who I believe is returning next year, and people are going to have an issue with that. That’s neither here nor there right now. If I’m Jonathan Ganon, what benefit is this? This is not helping you. This is hurting you. This is hurting you to the point where they’re going to be people that are saying get rid of Drew and you don’t. And then we’re going to fast forward the season. They’re going to say just get rid of everybody. If you’re Jonathan Ganon, this is in your best interest. He’s a big fan of Israel Wolf. Just let him call plays for the rest of the year. Just let Israel Wolf call plays. Give somebody else an opportunity to come in here and work with these guys. This is This is a nightmare. That was a nightmare. two quarters to end the game. They like the Jacksonville Jaguars were asking to be beat and and like we’re we’re sitting here, it’s like Ganon’s defense finally looks good. They’re getting pressure. They’re getting takeaways, right? They’re making Trevor uncomfortable. The Cardinals were up at one point 14 to 10. And if the offense could just not vomit all over themselves and keep the train on the tracks, they would have won that game handily. Special teams was terrible. Jeff Rogers again, coverage awful. the the offensive ineptitude at the end of the game that in games like that when it’s one possession down to the wire you get exposed when you have bad coaching. It happened to Matt Eberfloose last year. Happens to all these guys. Happened to Brian Dable. That’s why he’s gone. Like it’s not about luck. It’s not about officiating. The Cardinals have good player. Who are the Jags throwing to? You and me. They got no players right now. They got ETN and Trevor Lawrence who is awful. And then the Cardinals are sitting there and they’re like, we have an allp pro tight end. We have a blossoming wide receiver and on for three consecutive plays we are not going to go to them with a gamma line. It’s terrible. We’re coming back around the break. We’re going to have comments from Jonathan Ganon. I I just I This is indefensible. I I can’t believe he’s going to let himself dig his own grave with this guy. Listen, we’re coming right back. I I want to agree with you saying I can’t believe it, but at this point in the season, it’s hard not to believe it because we’ve seen this week in and week out. This is what, the sixth game that the Cardinals have had a lead in the fourth quarter. Yeah. That they’ve blown. Right. And it’s all come down to your offense just cannot produce in the second half. Yeah. They have not been able to produce all season long in the second half. Even when you had Kyler back there at office, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter who you had at quarterback right now. It’s not It’s coming down to the fact that it doesn’t matter who the quarterback is because it the play calling is going to put you in such a bad position at the end of the game to where you’re forced to make these ignorant play calls and these ignorant plays have to happen. It’s got to be some all crazy for you to win a football game when you’ve had and you’ve been in control. The Cardinals were in control outside of the first drive of this football game. The Cardinals were in control for most of this game. You got that defensive touchdown and all the momentum shifted and you had momentum and you were moving and then you had that blunder at the end of the first half. Hey, we’re going to talk about it. We used to have a thing in after games. BA had a thing called end of half, end of game. Did you get points before the half? Yeah. Did you get points outside of the half? And did you finish the game? The Cardinals haven’t done that all season long. And they definitely didn’t do it today. They had an opportunity for seven before halftime. They blew that. They missed the field goal. Blew that. You came out after halftime and you allowed points for Jacksonville and you did not score points. You got a touchdown off of a turnover off of your fourth turnover, mind you. Mhm. An interception by Buddha. This This is one of those situations where you think boom, you and then you get points off, you score, you take the lead. All right. You’re in this position to where it’s like we’ve got to win this game. Yeah. But it’s not. You just can’t. This the coaching staff has let everyone down. The coaching staff has let this entire team down. Offensively, defensively, special teams, it gets so bad at the end of the game. They we you don’t Drew Petting has no idea how to call plays when the when the heat is on, when the game matters. When it matters, he has no idea. when it’s garbage time and nothing matters. Oh yeah, watch. We’ll have a 450 yard passing quarterback. But when it matters, our quarterback’s going to go two for 12 and complete a a couple of balls underneath and that’s going it’s it they’re inept and and it’s it’s shown all season long. They’re an embarrassment. And this defense played well. They weren’t perfect. Um, we’ll have an update on Walter Nolan here, but man, four take four takeaways to none and you lost. Four takeaways and a defensive touchdown. You have a defensive touchdown. The problem I think I think the biggest knockoff of it is four turnovers and you got points off of technically off of two of them. One was just because you got the pick six, fumble six, whatever from Walter Nolan. But if we’re gonna go offensively, you got seven total points out of four takeaways or we’ll say three takeaways. You got seven points out of that. And just that’s bad football. Let um let’s go to super chats here as I try to keep my composure here because I’m I’m still in shock with what I just saw. $5 from Dana Balln. Appreciate you Dana. Couldn’t capitalize on offense. Bottom line, but Jack center moved ball before every snap, drawing off sides and their last play was defensive pass interference. Again, they’re not going to call not they might call that on Trey McBride. They might call that on Michael Wilson. They’re not calling that on Xavier Weaver who has never had an NFL touchdown, who is somebody who’s probably going to have under 10 catches for the year. even that he’s not he wasn’t he’s just not a big enough body to make it look like he can draw the he would have needed that ball would have needed to be led and he would be like pulled down from behind like it was a 50/50 ball honestly it was less than that cuz there were two men there and well and and the problem with that at the same time is everybody went for the ball if it it would have been different if nobody was looking but that people played the ball right that’s that’s what saved the penalty they played the ball and it was it was an undersized wide receiver that you’re trying to throw a 50-50 jump ball It just doesn’t make sense. We’re going to have comments from John and Ganon here if people are interested in that. Uh we’ve got LeBron who I can’t read the the super chat, but just not a fan of Drew Petty. I I I don’t What’s the down what’s the benefit to keeping him here through January? I I just I don’t I don’t want to watch him try to go I don’t want to watch him against Demo Ryan. I don’t want to watch him against Todd BS. I don’t want to see that. And I I I’m sorry. You got You got players. I don’t want like people are saying, “Well, they they’re missing players.” You got players Marv’s coming back next week. Michael Wilson like it’s an indictment on you that you haven’t played Michael Wilson and given the ball this much have a field day because you know Todd BS blitz is 60% of the game. Yeah, you’re it’s it’s going to be a blood. You can’t hold four Mr. Snub 199 that play call fourth down is a fireball. I’d fire him the first 12 like Michael Wilson to think that it’s okay to snap the ball. That’s a reflection of coaching. I’m not going to sit here and be like players need to be held accountable. Well, the players are with the coaches all the time. I know the players are are capable and it’s up for the coaches to be buttoned up. You think that would ever happen with Shawn McVey, Kyle Shanaham, Joel Moore 499? Fire everyone, please for the love of God. They’re not going to fire Ganon. I mean, like at this point, I don’t think they’re going to fire. No, they’re going Drew won’t be around. They need to fire him tomorrow. Um JD499, what’s up my brothers? I can’t seem to turn off this train wreck. My wife, who’s a Niners fan, continues to bully me. Why can’t my team just win? Godspeed, brother. There’s a great thing called Three Amigos Tequila. His play calling when the game is out of hand, right? And he can’t do anything. It’s like he’s a stat wizard. All he wants to see is the offensive statistics. But you can’t put any statistics up when it matters. You can only put statistics up when nobody’s in the game or you’ve got backups backups playing because you’re 30 points down. He’s terrible. Starting first with our guy Garrett Williams who he gave up a touchdown, had that incredible interception, was great in coverage today. Looks like he’s back hopefully on a good mend of health after missing time earlier this season. I thought I thought the Cardinals DBs played mo mostly well today led by number 21. They they all played pretty well for the most part, right? Guys got beat. Yes. I mean, he got beat there. Um whoever. I mean, it’s just to the point of talking about the turnovers, right? You have Garrett Williams, you had Buddha Baker, you had the sack fumble that turn with Jaylen Thomas, Hakee Davis Gaither. Like, you’ve had all of these turnovers. you your defense played well enough to win this football game. They did. Right. Aside from that first drive where they just looked porous. It looked like they didn’t care. We talked about it during the show like it looks like they’re already in Cabo. Yep. Right. That first drive is awful, but they came back and they played a a solid football game. I’m not going to say great, but they played a solid football game. And anytime you can generate four turnovers, like come on. You can’t you can’t lose a game when you’re not turning the ball over and you’re making them turn the ball over. It’s Garrett Williams played good. It’s to the point to where we talk about every week when your defense is on the field consistently, right? In an entire half. You’re talking about 30 minutes and your defense is out there for 18 to 20 minutes to that there’s going to h things are going to happen. You’re going to get beat at times. You’re going to give up points. I I I just this is this falls squarely on the offensive squarely on the offensive side of the ball. Uh I want to highlight uh Buddha Baker first interception since 2022 and of course Greg Dorch who I you know I thought all the playmakers were good in their own capacity. Um we’ve got Jonathan Ganon at the podium his opening statement. Let’s hear from JG. No, not yet. We’re waiting on that. Uh we’ll get back to your super chats. If he loses out, there’s no shot. I I don’t I just don’t think if if he loses out and he’s not fired and Bidwell goes to those owner meetings, he’s I mean he’s already got to be a laughingtock of what’s the last three years and you haven’t fired a soul. I’m just going to count this as year three because it is year three. But nobody’s been fired. Nobody. And the offense has not gotten better. The offensive line has continuously gotten worse. It’s Somebody’s got like everything has regressed. Everything has regressed. They’re just a bad team. This is this you have I I don’t think JG’s job should be safe because if we’re talking about reality in the NFL, find me another coaching staff that has had this much leniency and this many opportunities to change something with this many losses, especially in the division. Like this is the nobody ever holds a job like this. college, NFL, like if you lose this many games in high school, you not have you’re they’re getting rid of you. This is I don’t I don’t understand as an owner how you can sit there and be okay with with much losing. Uh we’re going to get back to your super chats in a second. Here’s Jonathan Ganon opening statement. Injury front, Will had a hip or an oblique, couldn’t return. Walter had a knee, couldn’t return. um you know, a couple plays away from winning our game. Um love the fight, love the resilience, thought we did some good things. That’s a good football team. Give them credit. Ultimately didn’t do enough all three phases to win the game. Um but you know, there’s no silver lining in losing. Um but this team will will come back to work tomorrow and get ready to go and um we’ll learn from it and move on and get to Tampa. Oh yeah, they played double double, so he threw it to the one-on-one. Love the decision. Go win the game. Utah. I’m assuming that’s that’s the question on do you agree with Jacob Rouset’s throw? Oh my god, he threw it in double double. What did he say? Play it one more time though, would you? Oh yeah, they played double double, so he threw it to the one-on-one. Loved the decision. go win a game played double double. So what he’s saying is they doubled they doubled Wilson and they doubled McBride. They they basically said we’re not going to allow you these two to win you the football game or to pick up this first down and allow you. So he’s saying that he threw that to a one-on-one. I think that’s BS family show because that was not a one-on-one. There were two guys on him. There was no one. He’s up there jumping. There’s a safety. There’s a corner, but you threw in the double coverage. So you you can play the whole they bracketed Michael Wilson, they bracketed Trey McBride. I get that. I would have done that. Any competent defensive coordinator would have done that in that situation. Now to say he chose the one-on-one when there was two defensive backs in it on that play clearly the entire time. Now you can say it was it was man, I guess. I didn’t see the the defensive front to start with, but all I know is when the ball was in the air, there was multiple defensive backs back there. So, to say that that was your one-on-one, I I that’s Can you Can you take a timeout and collect yourselves and say we’re going to draw off draw up the best play we have? We’re going to take a time we have two timeouts. Take a timeout and say we need this to work. We’re going to have multiple options. we’re gonna get Trey McBride is sold or Michael Wilson. I mean, it’s like they’re just not well coached. They just aren’t the Elijah Higgins uh pass, you know, the intentional or the offensive pass interference. Yeah, that that was on him. But yeah, but like the players don’t do they not know the rules like they Well, it’s a a side of that too is this is in practice. You clearly went you you’ve run that play in practice, right? And you know watching the film that you legally cannot as a receiver run in. Wes Welker is the one that started this rule because Wes Welker used to just run across the field and just demolish whoever was chasing the other guy. That’s why that play turned into offensive pass interference because of the mesh play. Right? So this is one of those things in practice you’re watching film. You literally are supposed as a coaching staff you say, “Hey, you can run this mesh. You cannot purposely run into this man. You can make a move, try to stop his feet. The object, the object is to just make him stop his feet, right? Just give Michael Wilson a yard of separation to where when he can catch this ball, he can maybe if he has to break a tackle and get a couple yards and make sure you get the first down. But the fact that he ran into him goes back, it’s a dumb play by Higgins because as a player, you should know this rule anyway. But at the same time, it’s a result of the coaching on top of that, right? It’s this the staff. I’m I’m Yes, I was with it. Like, I like JG, too, but this is done. Like, this has to be over with. You’ve got to This needs to be a clean house. I understand you’re probably not going to do it until the season is over, but you got to clean house because everybody everything that is going on in this organization from the interviews after the game, which are BS, we’ve heard it all year long, and it’s the same same stuff. Nobody on this coaching staff actually knows what they’re doing in their capacity of where they’re at. JG was a great defensive coordinator for the Eagles. Yeah, he was. He’s not a head coach. Right. This is the same thing we were doing with Cliff Kingsbury. Cliff Kingsbury, great offensive coordinator. Bad off bad head coach. Doesn’t know how to run it. Right. I I just don’t I this this whole coaching staff just needs just need to whitewash it and move on because this is not going to get any any better. The Cardinals blow a game, which the defense has four takeaways, including a defensive touchdown. Just the I just posted on Twitter the offensive ineptitude. Michael Wilson spiking the ball. Jacobe Brassette not spiking the ball. Elijah Hagen’s pass interference on offense blatant then the fourth down play call. I mean like what more do Cardinal fans have to endure offensively? I get it. They’re missing players. These are these are mistakes that have to be a fireball offense. I I just can’t imagine they continue to go on like this. Or will they? No, it’s a nightmare for fans to have to watch that endure that uh just chance after chance and you just come up short every time and find a new way to do it when we also the stat out there. The teams were like 50 and0 when winning the turnover margin by four. Arizona Cardinal found a way. They they found a way. Oh my god. I had no idea. Say that again. What was that said? In the last 25 years, teams that had won the turnover margin by four were 50 and0. They’re 50 and one after today’s game. I can’t Welcome to history, Arizona. That is unbelievable. Ganon Ganon coming out and saying, “Love the play call on fourth and fourth to Xavier Weaver in double coverage to win the game.” He’s like, “Win the game. You had a timeout. There’s eight minutes left. Why did you need to win the game there to an undrafted player that never catches anything?” How do how did he rationalize that? Well, Jacobe Brassette was echoing those comments in his own postgame press conference. He was saying the same thing. they wanted to go win the game on that play uh when you know there was plenty of opportunities to to extend that. I mean it just as they had gotten themselves in that spot you just kind of survive and advance drive in drive out you know f first down conversion by first down conversion you like you’re fourth and four you know there’s plays it felt like underneath that could have happened you live to see another day and get to kind of continue this but uh they chose to kind of just you know Xavier Weaver’s down there somewhere type of play. It’s It’s really unfortunate that that’s how it went down. I can see BG is ready to get after it. I can’t even believe that answer. It kind It kind of blows my mind with the fact of Yes, it was fourth and four. I understand this. Yeah, I I was watching the thing, too. But there was four minutes on the clock. Like, this is understandable if this was fourth and four and there was seven seconds to play. Go win the game. I understand. I understand the throw there cuz that’s the only thing you have. But it’s fourth and four. There’s four minutes to play in overtime. Like call time. If you don’t like the call, call timeout, right? And this is something Jacobe could have done as well when he got the play called and then go out. He could have been like, I I don’t I don’t like that. Call timeout. But my thing is, call timeout. Go to the sideline. Speak amongst yourself and say, what’s the best play call that we can put out here that can get us four yards? Four yards. We got to have something in the playbook that can get us four yards, right? Whether it’s a roll out, whether it’s a screen pass, a dump off, anything, right? I mean, it I I just don’t understand the issue or or the the logic in let’s just sit back and throw a Hail Mary on fourth and four when we’ve got plenty of time to play. We just need to get a first down. We don’t need a touchdown. Win the game. You win the game by getting first downs, right? You win the game by putting yourself in a position to win the football game. you were in no means a position to win that football game where you were at. And and for me, if for you to actually think that you could throw a Hail Mary to the smallest receiver outside of Dorch, they that just blow I mean gosh, Michael Wilson got 15 targets today and that’s not the target that you wanted with the game on the line. Trey McBride. That’s not the guy you wanted with. I don’t care if they’re doubling Trey McBride. They’ve been doubling him all game. Trey McBride’s getting doubled every single game he steps on the field. Let’s be honest. Since his breakout season has come out the last couple years, if you’re not in a position to where you’re doubling Trey McBride, you’re a bad defensive coordinator. All right. Like I I I just don’t understand why that is your like this is un like it’s unbelievable. All right. I got I got to get I got to get to Ganon’s decision like what what the hell was that at the end of the the regulation? I think we have that. I was going to provide context because I believe he’s answering uh post the decision not to spike the football. So we don’t actually That’s what I want. Yeah. Yeah. But we did hear I did ask Jacobe specifically about that. So we’ll get into to Jacobe to answer because I think he answered that more so than JG. JG was just saying hey with 6 seconds. We didn’t have a two for one. But he’ll listen to Well, yeah. Well, then we won’t play it then. Just I there was six seconds though. But why didn’t they run up, right? Michael Wilson caught the ball. He spiked it and then he went and grabbed it and then they had like 20 20 seconds to spike the ball and they’re in shotgun. What did he say? Yeah, BG. How many times did we see Fitz in those situations run the ball to the referee? I mean, that that just seems like it’s so simple to do. That’s like the easiest thing to do. coach. That was that when in the era that I was here, that was outside of clearly of Larry Fitzgerald doing something wild, which would have never in a million years happened. Because when we practiced those situations during the week that listen, you were in fear for losing your job in practice. If there was a point where it was said in the huddle, right, catch it, get down, get the ball in, right? You know, you’re in this type of situation. If you did not under BA catch that football, get down and run that and hand that ball to the official. If you tossed the ball to the official, if it would have been me, if it was if I was in that situation, right, who was I was just a nobody, I would have been gone. That situation that just happened today under Bruce Arens, you’re you’re fired. Your job is done. He’s going to buy you a bus ticket. He’s not even going to give you a plane ticket home, right? You’re done. Now, Larry in this situation, it didn’t even have to be that situation. When Larry got tackled, Larry handed the ball to the official. You never saw Larry sit back and throw it or do anything out of pocket. He was the ultimate pro when it came to stuff like that. But like again, like that was just that is that that was a fireable offense during my tenure here. Like, and it didn’t matter who you were again, unless your name was Larry Fitzgerald. But again, you didn’t have to worry about that from Larry Fitzgerald because that he was the ultimate pro. Like everything was done, you know, in a professional manner coming from him. So that was just that again goes to coaching though because like I said, that would never happen under the tenure that I was here. There would that would it didn’t matter who was playing receiver. That would never happen. But he but he realized he made a mistake and grabbed the ball and ran it to the ran it to Yela. And the Cardinals are like walking to the line of scrimmage and they’re just walking up there and they’re like, “We’re going to have a we’re just going to do one play before we kick a field goal and it’s going to be out of shotgun and we’re it’s going to look discombobulated. Had no shot of being completed.” Instead of sprinting to the line of scrimmage and getting underneath the ball and spiking it. I I I con the most conservative estimation, Bo, is that they would have had 15 seconds, but then they would have been able to huddle and been able to put something together. The the the the offensive incompetence on display when this game was there to be run is unthinkably bad. It is Mike McCoy level bad. It is the it is the worst of Cliff Kingsbury times a million. And I can’t believe we’re sitting here and Jonathan Ganon, who we know is smart, smarter than this, is openly defending what what we just witnessed. Like, does he not like people comprehend NFL football? The most casual NFL fan would watch that last possession and it’s unthinkable, Bo, that they did not spike the ball there. It’s that’s unthinkable. Yeah. Let’s hear from Jacobe Brouset when I asked him about the reason to not spike situation. Uh, no, just because I mean it’s the same thing. At least you get a chance, you know, to throw it, you know what I mean? And it’s it’s what we practice, what we talked about all week, you know, I mean, in that situation, you it’s either him or nobody, you know, hopefully you catch a defense sleeping or something like that. And but yeah, I like the decision. I can’t. I’m just I’m I I’m You didn’t even understand. They’re not even comprehending what happened. Come on, bro. That That What are we doing? That right there. These are just they’re baffling plays are they not these baffling decisions. Are we are are I’m trying to separate. I really do. This was this was not well managed at the end of the game.” as far as the clock goes and as far as the decision I think fourth and four Britain’s harping on and really kind of pounding the table for you know live to see another day just move the chains there instead of going for it all going for broke it’s it really is kind of just one of those multiple headscratching moments in a game where you know you win the turnover margin by four and and you end up losing a historic loss. Now, the Cardinals Bo strength of schedule is likely to hurt the Cardinals chances. Bo, with what you’ve seen from this team, losing eight of nine, I think you and I were always very skeptical that this team would bottom out and get a top five pick. Do you have a change of heart after what you watched today? That they’re not going to be in the top 10? That they’re not going to be in the top five. Do you think they could get to the top five with what you’ve seen? It’s very possible. I mean, next week has the makings of a really uncompetitive game. I mean, Tampa right there with Seattle, I think, as far as in a mismatch nightmare for the Arizona Cardinals. Like, you saw the mistakes from Trevor Lawrence. Pton Mayfield hasn’t been making those those mistakes wearing a a Bucks uniform. Like, this thing could get out of control. They got the run pass balance. They got, you know, a defense that can generate pressure. Like, I I mean, you’re at least staring down. Your ninth win, I think, guarding anything, you know, unforeseen. And you got two more matchups against the Rams. Uh, so like that’s three of your final six games. Your winnable game Atlanta, I mean it’s a it’s a nightmare as far as going against the Texans. Like it it’s very possible, but there’s a lot of bad teams, too. Like it it’s the the race to the top of the draft board is very competitive. So, uh, to to kind of like to firmly stay in the top 10, I think it’s it’s a it’s near a near lock as far as making your way up the draft board any more than that, it’s going to be tough. you’re going to have to really really uh be scraping the bottom of the barrel. Let’s see that order again. Cardinals, let’s assume they lose out. Okay, I’m I’m going to say they finish with three wins, which is just unthinkably bad. I think you can get up over eight and seven here. I think you can get over Cincinnati and Washington easily. Yeah. Yeah. But then it gets really tough. But the Jets and the New Orleans Saints play each other and then we don’t know how tie breakers work. It would be crazy to believe that they would lose out and be three and 14 and not have a top five pick. That would be crazy. I agree with Satch. The only winnable game left, State Farm Stadium, Falcons, Cardinals. Falcons, you know, they won today. Their defense I actually think their defense is halfway decent. They have Bejon Braden Golden. How many more wins do you see on the Cardinal schedule? They play the Rams twice. They play Houston, Tampa at Cincinnati, which will be Joe Burrow and and Jamar Chase, and then they play Atlanta at home. How many more wins they got? I mean, depending on how the Texans offense plays, right? Possibly winnable. Um, Atlanta versus Drew P. That’s my thing, though. that the defense, the Texans defense is going to abuse this Cardinals offensive line. It is going to be bad and you’re going to get a glimpse of it next week because this Todd BS defense with Vaian and company in on that interior going against these guards that we have is going to be abysmal. Right. I I I don’t know. I honestly when you’re looking at the schedule, Atlanta is the only one that I think that there’s a possible chance of winning. I I I just I just don’t think and even that one is going to be that’s that’s up for grabs. It’s 50/50 in that who wins that. I just I the Rams are going to just make men’s meat of this defense and I I think the Bucks come in here. Listen, we’re talking about a Bucks offense that went tip for tat against the Seahawks defense and ended up winning and beat the Seahawks. Like we’re like this is a B like you said Bo like Baker Mayfield’s not making these mistakes that Trevor Lawrence made today. We’ve heard it from multiple people that we believe Jonathan Ganon will return next year. if they lose out and Drew Pson is a big reason for that. Drew Pson is going to get Jonathan Ganon fired. You just he’s just at at this rate he’s going to get him fired if he hasn’t already if that’s what I mean what are your thoughts on that? No, I mean it’s just kind of dead weight though is bringing him down. um you know and and he’s got obviously the confidence of of the decision makers there but you know as far as trying to find a reason not to move forward. I mean you got it attached to you in your in your offensive coordinator. So it’s it uh really kind of puts people in a tough position and and I think you get you got to have that realization. You got to have that tough realization uh and and look forward to because you can’t come off of this season and you know the head coach gets the boost of confidence gets to come back and then you just run it back as far as the status quo and the coaching staff like no nobody would accept that. I think you would see a significant loss as far as season ticket holders if you’re not already going to see that. Gan’s 15 and 30. They haven’t been in a winning team in over 400 days. Maybe he would tell people that publicly or privately. His enablement of Drew and not being able to disassociate from, hey, I like this guy. He’s my friend. I brought him here. I wanted to elevate him to it’s clearly not working. It’s costing you games. Like I we are Buaki, we are friendly with Ganon. I’m never going to sit on the show and tell people we’ll just let the process play out. He should have fired Drew Petting last January and and I 100% believe right now while I think Ganon is safe that if Jonathan Ganon does not make it out of this season, it’s going to because he enabled Drew Petting. That is not like that’s inarguable. That is inarguable. Yeah. Like I I I’m very disappointed with with how he’s handled it. I think all fans are Dana $2. Go ahead, Bo. I got nothing. Kobe just said they practiced it. He said, “That’s what they practiced.” That was his answer to Bo’s question. That’s what they practiced. And if that if you’re telling me that you practiced an end of game scenario to where you get a big play, it’s a massive play puts you in the red zone with an opportunity to win a football game and you run downfield lacadasically. You you’re one, you spike the ball as a receiver, you realize you effed up, so you go get it and try to get it back. But as an offense, you telling me that you did all this with 20 seconds left on the clock and said, “We’re going to snap the ball and we’re going to waste another 10 seconds.” I couldn’t believe it. To where now we have an incomplete pass here and all we can do is kick the field goals. I could I couldn’t believe it. That’s all we have time to do. If that’s what you’re practicing, just sell the go to a different country. How is that? But this is UFFL. This is XFL problem. They don’t have this problem in those leagues. We don’t have you don’t have that problem in high school. How do we not get Ganon running on the sideline and there’s a shot of it from who? Fox or whatever and he’s yelling spike it. Spike it. That’s the problem. He thinks he thinks Drew has a competent offense. That’s why he continues to I also think he thinks that Drew’s been dealt a bad ham because all the players are hurt. His I don’t think he dislikes fans. I just don’t think he comes across well to fans, but he just he just has a really tough time endearing himself and and everything he says like the optics of it right now are just not not good. They’re just not good optics. Yeah. When you’re trying to, you know, hold people accountable and pay attention to details and week in and week out like details are overlooked and and people continue to make the same mistakes and are not as productive as you need to win in this league and then you go to bat form week in and week out. It’s just it’s a tough look. It’s it’s just it’s never going to kind of resonate with with fans and say, “Hey, like I see you’re just putting your head down. You guys are trying to go to work at this point.” People need uh to see some head roll uh for the lack of production and all the losses stacking up. Uh our guy Charles 499. Good to see you. My guy Michael Bidwell gave his vote of confidence after last week not spiking the ball and the end of game management has to shake his confidence in JG. I think it shakes his confidence in everybody. Those are the kind of games where that’s Eber flu at the end of of last year. Those are the kind of performances where like if you had that game won multiple times when you’re blowing games that the Jaguars are trying to give you and you and you you’re blowing games because of self-inflicted errors. Spike it.” Then immediately was like what the what the [ __ ] 100% all of us everybody was saying this it was I was I was crashing out our our watch along. And it is, you’re putting up numbers. You’re putting up garbage time numbers. You’re putting up stat numbers that don’t mean anything because you’re you’re being blown out of this game. You’re you’re not winning football games. You’re not doing it. Like if if you were if if I’m in his situation and you put me on IR in terms of saying this is the route you’re going to go with. This is it. I’m going to let you ride your ship. Let trade me. Do whatever you’re going to do. Get me out of here. Right. Cuz honestly, and we’ve said this multiple times on this show before, like I hope that he finds a place that is built for an offense that’s built for him and he completely succeeds because that’s the best thing that you can hope for somebody like that right now. But it’s there’s there’s no even with Kyler in the reigns right now, this this team is in shambles. And it’s the coaching staff is in shambles. The play calling is in shambles. It really doesn’t matter who’s playing quarterback for you right now because there’s no plan. There’s no game plan. They’re clearly not practicing situational football during the week or in training camp or in the offseason. Nothing situational has been practiced in three years. They they just they look like they look like a team that just doesn’t have the details down. They look like a team that like I saw the local news came on right after the game and they were talking about well at least that was entertaining. I’m like what guys? Come on. They they blew this games. They they’re not a good team. They’re not a well coached team. They’re not a well they’re they’re missing players. I get that. And I I can’t believe we have six more games of this left. This these are conversations where like this should be like late December. It’s like, okay, Black Monday, what’s going to happen? Like six more games of a of a of a team right now that Ganon’s team didn’t look Britain this bad his first year. I I I just can’t believe that they’ve they’ve regressed to this point. It’s honestly we’re frustrated. It’s honestly really sad to watch. It’s a sad product right now. It’s it’s to the point to where what what you’re seeing as well, right, through the super chats and the constant things of I will not be renewing season tickets. I was able to afford this super chat because I didn’t buy any tickets this year. It’s it’s that that’s that should send you a message like it’s to a point to where there’s no way as an owner that you don’t hear or see or understand the frustration of your I mean tell me Bo how how many seats were open at the game today? Like at least 10K. Yeah. Like it’s to the point to where this was a stadium that was sold out every game for God, how many years? I know at least through what 2019 2020 season, they sold out every home game and now you’re there’s 10 to 15,000 seats that are open on home games, right? I don’t understand how as an owner how it’s just to the point of you know what, it’s okay. We’ll get it next time. Like, but the next time this is three years of next times.
