Want should be the starting lineup when Giannis gets back?

  1. I want to see kpj Rollins green giannis turner starting when everyone’s healthy. We had size problems when we had the small lineup earlier in the year but I think kpj is a good rebounding guard and is big and athletic enough that we can probably cope better than when gtj was the other guard. Maybe it still won’t work but I’d like to see us try it at least.

  2. Turner
    GA
    Kuzma
    RR
    KPJ

I think this lineup has the best defensive potential and has enough shooting. I’d run more drop coverage to tighten up rim protection, and rebounding.

I’d bring Green off the bench first to replace one of KPJ or RR. Need to rest one to rotate in with subs at the start of the second. Then bring in Bobby and AJax for Turner and Kuz. I’m giving AJax the nod for defensive purposes, we still should have enough shooting. I wouldn’t banish Cole Anthony or GTJ, but I’d give them a shorter leash if their shots aren’t falling.

Might also bring Green in for Kuz depending on matchups, so that Kuz can replace Giannis at the 10 minute mark or start of the second.

  3. Right now with Giannis out, we need to keep Turner/Kuz/AJ/Rollins as starters – if going against a bigger lineup, Bobby’s the 4 and if a smaller lineup, insert one of GTJ/Harris/Cole. To that end, we’re really missing TP’s shooting and size, our only wing 6’6 and above that’s any good aside from Kuz

When Giannis is back, agreed we need to keep Kuz in the starting lineup and if only for his size – the Rollins/GTJ/AJ lineup Doc was using to start the season gave up way too much on height, made all the worse by GTJ’s broken jump shot.

Last, I hope Doc keeps playing Sims more – he may not do much on offense aside from the dunker’s spot and on defense he’s not a great rim protector, but he’s also our only big that’s truly switchable rn, plus his energy has been great to see as well.

  4. I know these are somewhat small samples, but so would love to see more minutes from Coffey and TP because those defensive numbers look great lol. Kuzma of course, he’s been looking way better this season on both ends and he should be reward as such. Does anyone know when TP comes back?

And don’t kill me, but there’s gotta be a way to get Westbrook here as a backup? 🤣. I think he would do wonders on boosting overall playmaking, rebounding and defense on the team without sacrificing what Rollins and KPJ can do.

  5. So… It looks to me like Giannis is excellent, but we’ve also surrounded him with players that help elevate him *and* who he helps elevate. Nearly every situation is, “It’s good with Giannis, but *even better* when X player is out there with him!”
