Jaxon Smith-Njigba: “I’m Blessed To Be A Seahawk” | Seattle Seahawks

See you hear the haters. Your second time wearing the cowboy hat is going to be a theme. It might be. It might just might just have to be, you know, um feel comfortable and we two and0 in it. So you might see it again later on this year. What does it mean to you to break DK’s record and kind of do it as fast as you did this year? Um it means it means a lot you know um this organization greater organization and great receivers have you know came through here. So um honestly I look at it as it as a team award honestly because you know without Sam and without the protection without sheed and Coupe you know you know this doesn’t happen and um you know so I’m grateful I’m thankful blessed for my team blessed to be a Seahawk. goals to break this one. Um, it was I mean the goal that I set, you know, I guess you could say this was definitely part of it. So, did you know going into today that you had a chance? I mean, that you wereund or something yards away from it. Yeah. Yes, sir. Um, both in the the Arizona game, this game, other games, you throttle down sometimes on deep passes and kind of box out your your defender. Is that something you’ve always been able to do or something you picked up? I would say like I’m starting to notice it like more like I’m doing it a little bit more. Um but yeah, just playing ball, going out there playing ball. Um definitely notice it a little bit, but um I wouldn’t say something that I’ve done, but uh you know, any way to make a play, you know, you got to do it. on the one today. When did you notice when at what point when the ball was in flight did you notice you might be able to run it and need to once the ball was in there as as soon as I saw the ball you know just adjust make a play as soon as I as soon as I seen it. When you’re doing that are you trying to keep the defender on there front to back or is that an actual conscious effort? Yeah. Yeah. um sometimes in that in that uh play specifically um he was kind of on my side. So just you know you know DBs I would say I have better ball tracking skills than a lot of DBs and I I can kind of feel their tenseness and you know freaking out when the ball is in the air. So you know just staying relaxed, staying calm. U me and Dariq and Coach Frizz you know we work on drills like that all the time you know every single day. So, um, you know, just bringing it to life. You work on giving him just enough of a nudge to create some separation. Yeah. Hold hold hold it off. Hold hold hold the line. Uh, hold your line and, uh, you know, let the ball be out there and break at the last second. You know, catch the ball. Um, it’s a great drill and, you know, something that, you know, you can see in the game. What’s the technique on that to not get the ball? Um, just stay your ground. You know, stay your ground. Um, don’t panic. I don’t need a push. you know, I can, you know, just hold off and stand my ground and um, you know, get the ball at the last second sort of thing. You went in motion on that play. It ended up being guarded by a safety, I think, and Mike was saying that was probably a coverage bust by them and Sam said you weren’t necessarily the the top number one read there, but did you figure out immediately like I’ve got this match up and this is Oh, yeah. I mean, credit to Sam, you know, just seeing it, sticking with me and understanding, you know, um, that I’m going to adjust my route mid play. So for him to be able to see that and put the ball up and give me a chance, you know, I think that’s, you know, elite, you know, championship football and um something, you know, we hope to continue, you know. What was your reaction to what Sam Darnold did one week after having some turnovers, coming out, throwing only touchdowns, no picks, and still, you know, going for the deep ball? No panic, you know. No panic from us, you know. Um we’re going to stick to the routine, make it right. We believe in Sam. Um he’s our quarterback, he’s our guy, and we’re going to ride with him. And you know, every time we come out, we just want to play our best game. And if we didn’t the week before, you know, um we’re going to come back and swing, keep swinging. Walker had some explosive runs today and and get some more carries. He’s starting to feel like what he can add to this offense the rest of the way. Oh, for sure. Getting on the ball and uh good things happen. It’s it’s great to see him. His elusiveness is next level. Never seen it before. and uh we just got to you know block better and you know create more open lanes for him. The running backs have seen more involved in the passing game here last game and a half or so. Are you seeing that have a little bit of an impact in terms of what you guys are seeing on the back end too because now teams are having to focus on that a little thousand%. You know that’s the name of the game. Um take what they give you and um running back’s been doing a great job Sam just check down make it to the next play and you know running back’s making the most of it. you know, we’re going to need every single guy out here. And um you know, I’m proud of my guys. Where did you get that hat? This this hat uh a little online shopping, you know, can’t I couldn’t tell you the brand, but you know, some online shopping. Yeah. Good. Cool. Thanks.

  1. JSN has only been below 100 receiving only three times. The Saints and the second game of the cardinals the seahawks wouldn't pass to JSN due to the blow outs in the first half of those games. He would be over 1400, but regardless he's making franchise history, and he might beat Megatrons record if he keeps it going. Vikings are next. Hopefully seahawks players start to recover soon because after the vikings game it's the colts next. Go Hawks!

  2. I like his hat😉 Ayyy, great job JSN🎉🎉🎉 Good job team! Ngl, y'all about gave me a heart attack, but a win is a win. I love my team!!! Keep going guys💪

  3. Hopefully he isn't living in Seattle. Having to deal with the decay and hate daily just hurts the soul. SEATTLE grinds you down until you accept the hate and foul as normal.

  4. CONGRATS JSN💯 🐐 🎉 WE APPRECIATE EVERYTHING!!! You have done for this Seattle Seahawks team. Keep doing you and blocking out the noise fam.💪🏾💚💙GO HAWKS!!!

  5. DK was a penalty happy Diva. He's average. Hawks will have to play the man now. They better win SB soon. Before they have to pay all these players. It's the only way you can win Superbowls. Unless ALL the players are selfless and don't demand top dollar for a couple years like Brady.

  6. I would swap ten Metcalfs for one JSN. What an ambassador for the city and the franchise. Listen up John Schnieder, the day that Kupp hangs up the cleats is the day that you should offer this hometown guy a coaching job. Tell Macdonald to find a place for him. I'll bet it won't take any arm twisting. Regardless, Kupp is head coach material for some lucky franchise. Let the best young coach in the league groom him.

  7. Honestly , it sucks that where you land as a rookie can either make or break you , you can be blessed and land in a good team or end up in some shithole like the raiders, browns, titans , and such
