POSTGAME SOUND: ORLANDO MAGIC VS. BOSTON CELTICS | COACH MOSE, JETT HOWARD & JASE RICHARDSON
What did you think of your team’s fight lane obviously short-handed tonight? Yeah, I I I loved our team’s fight. You know, I think it was six minutes to go in the game, 11-point game. These guys just continued to battle. Our bench was in it for them. Those guys that we talk about staying ready when your numbers called and, you know, guys like Jed Howard, guys like Chase, guys like Noah, those guys stepped up. They stepped into their role and and accepted whatever was asked of them tonight and they did it, you know, wholeheartedly. I know you’re not one for excuses, but third game and four nights, long travel last night. How much was fatigue a factor based on what you saw before? Yeah, I mean there was moments of it, but at the end of the day, we we’ve got a job to do and we we’re not going to make excuses for um whatever happens on that court. And I think we got to make sure that we continue to stay ready, which those guys at the end of the game, I think they did a tremendous job of battling and fighting and showing exactly what we know we’re capable of doing and that they’ll be ready when there’s their their numbers are called. When did you learn that go wasn’t what happened? Yeah, his ankle he went through shooting slot said it was it was still bothering him. Then he went through, you know, the the warmup and then still was nagging him a little bit. Thought he would heal up a little bit, but right before it just that warmup, you know, pregame it just it wasn’t get it wasn’t right and then that was the moment that we kind of had to let him know he let you know we let him know that probably not right to go. Um, and so in these moments, I think, you know, this is where, you know, Orlando being here ready to go, being able to step in and, you know, just those guys being ready to step into the moment. I just keep saying it over and over again. They they were ready for their moment. They stepped in and they played how we need them to play, how hard they played, and they never quit for to have a game like that with 30 points. What can I just do for him moving forward? Well, it just says, you know, you’re constantly ready. You just stay ready to get yourself in the game and when you get in, you know what you’re capable of doing. And I I think those guys were, you know, supporting him. He’s trying to make the right play, trying to attack the basket. You know, they they had their guys out there the entire that entire time. And our guys did a heck of a job of competing and, you know, fighting to the end. What’ you see from both Chase and Noah? Yeah, I really I really was happy with their competitive stamina. I I think they got in the game and just tried to make the right plays. Their aggression, I really love that. their ability to try to attack, get downhill, space the floor, make the right play. Defensively, constantly battling and fighting, and there’s obviously things we’re going to clean up, but at the end of the day, it’s it is not because of the lack of their care factor and and heart to get out there and play. Do you feel like the agility stint that Noah just had really helped with his confidence to go along with his own performance in game? I do. I I think it gave him a sense and a feel for, you know, what was going on in game. you know, the G is obviously a lot faster pace, but even in this game tonight, the way that they were getting up with the small ball, I think it gave him a glimpse of, you know, what he’s seen down there, but also being able to come here and and do it. What do you take away from this game where, you know, you’re missing three starters, a couple guys off the bench, but you still come out? Depth and defense. You know, I think we got to do we have to do a better job. We gave up, you know, 48 in that second quarter. I think that’s what we got to continue to harp on is our defensive standard. Uh but then the ability that we have depth for this team that you can call on anybody’s number at any given time and they’re ready to play for you. Uh because it’s a long season, you know, 82 games plus is is is a grind for a lot of these guys. So knowing that you have somebody that you can look over there and step in and be ready to go, that’s what you take from a game like this. That’s good. Thank you all. Appreciate it. Uh so Jed, I’ll start with you. What did you see down the stretch that helped you guys get back in the game? Uh honestly just uh toughness um grit. I think like we all wanted to play together and play for each other. Um and it showed and I just think we was just like you know let’s just get three stops in a row. That’s what we started with and then it just you know the momentum came after that. Joe, what do you take away from a game like this where you know you guys are down three starters go out last minute and and that you guys still kind of find a way to fight late? Um, I just think it just shows the depth of our unit. Um, I think like it shows our toughness, too. Like, we didn’t really bat a eye like as soon as that happened. We just kept rolling and and and uh especially in the fourth, I think everybody was determined. Um, and this next man up like Jace is more than ready to play. So I think like everyone down the line like even Noah tonight, Jamal Kane, um Tai has even stepped like so I think everybody even since training camp um has been ready to play. It’s just a matter of the opportunity. Jason, what was working for you out there tonight, especially in the second half? Uh I think just being patient, honestly. You know, getting in getting in a game like this, you want to try to go out and show what you can do, but you also don’t want to overdo it. So just staying patient and then trusting in these guys. I mean, Jet had an amazing night tonight. I mean, he had 30 and he really he really helped us get back in this game. So, how important is it for you, Jay, to stay ready regardless of whether you’re playing a few minutes, 20 minutes, no minutes? What is your mindset with that? Uh, it’s super important. Uh, when I said at training camp, I’m I’m willing to do whatever the team needs me to do, I meant that. So, if that’s um, you know, sitting there being an energy guy off the bench, I’m ready to do that. And then on a night like this where I got to come in and you know try to make big plays and then try to cut down the lead. I’m willing to do that. So just always staying ready uh always having that mentality that just just being ready to get in the game. Jeff, what could this do for your confidence and just your mentality going forward when you have a night like this? Um honestly I been knew I could do this. I just feel like now it’s time like y’all can see it. Um obviously um I don’t think it does much for my confidence. I just think like, you know, just staying ready, um, no matter the situation is kind of my mindset right now. Um, and, you know, I just want to, you know, help help the team in any way, no matter if that’s playing five minutes, no matter 10, whatever. Um, so as long as I can stay ready and and rise to the occasion, that that’ll be good. Jason, what what did you make of Noah tonight? He had recently on a G-League stint and and, you know, got in with you there, too. Uh, super impressive. U, me and him talk all the time of just uh just you know being ready uh when winning our turn to get in and then uh when we get in just work super hard and that’s what he did tonight. He was crashing the glass hitting big time shots and then he was defending. So uh it was really impressive game from him. How encouraging have your teammates been as far as the advice they’ve been giving you especially when you’ve been on the bench maybe you’re hearing certain things from them in that time. Uh it’s it’s amazing honestly these guys you know they put a lot of like faith in me honestly. Um they talk to me all the time on the bench in games where I’m not getting in games where I am getting in. Uh they’re just standing in my ear just telling me uh keep doing this, keep doing that. So just having guys like that vets that are just leading me every day, uh keeps me confident. Jeff, what area of your game do you think you’ve grown the most in defense? I think I think, you know, I I just I think Coach Mo has done a great job as long as well as well as the staff. Um just kind of helping me out on the defensive end since I I’ve been a rookie. Um and it’s on me whether I could change that. Um, there’s still um some ways to go, but I feel like, you know, game by game, my IQ, my strength, my quickness, my foot speed, like everything’s kind of increasing per game. But, you know, I just think with time, um, it would all come. Great. Thanks, guys.

for the first three quarters this was embarrassing, but dang! Jett and Jase really went crazy and even though we lost, im extremely impressed.
Yall didn’t want to win
Terrible decision by Mose to bench bane ab and Franz for the entire 4quarter. We could’ve won that game. My eyes and ears are officially open to bringing in a new head coach.
Stop playing tyrus, and our defensive scheme against Boston sucks
I can live with coach's decision to rest the starters in the 4th. Down by plenty on the 2nd night of a back to back, it's a long season. Positives are what a great showing by the young guys deep in the roster, they're pushing for more opportunities and keeping the regular 2nd unit guys honest. Hopefully we can get healthy quick for the next one!
Momentum is real. Even the celtics wasnt expecting a 1 possession game. Jetts game always been like that. I did like his shot selection
The must entertain quarter in long time shout out to Howard,Jase and Penda !!!! Go magic!!!!!
