Today, we have four jam-packed updates about our Bronx Bombers, which happened or came to notice just a few hours ago. So, if you are a true Yankees fan, you do not want to miss these updates. And yes, before we start the video, I request you to, if you are new to the channel, then do not forget to like and subscribe so that you can stay in the loop with everything happening in the Bronx. We have a lot to get through, including some major contract news and reality checks. But first, we have to talk about one of our starting pitchers who has been in the headlines this weekend. Not for what he did on the mound at Yankee Stadium, but for a special trip back home. Update one, a legend returns home, Carlos Rodon’s emotional Ring of Honor ceremony, and the 2026 redemption tour. Let’s kick things off with Carlos Rodon. We know the narrative right now. The heartbreak is still fresh. The New York Yankees season came to an abrupt end in early October. We finished tied with the Toronto Blue Jays for the best record in the American League. But as we all painfully remember, we fell short in the American League Division Series of the Major League Baseball playoffs. And let’s be honest, part of that early exit was due to Rodon’s struggles on the big stage. But amidst the offseason noise, Rodon received a massive honor away from the bright lights of New York. Just recently, Carlos Rodon was honored by his college, North Carolina State University. This is a huge deal for him personally. Earlier in the week, Roodon along with Philly star Treya Turner, Dan Plesac, and Mike Caldwell was officially inducted into NC State’s baseball ring of honor. These four alumni were recognized on a Friday night ahead of NC State’s football game against Florida State University. Rodon even collaborated on an Instagram post on Saturday showcasing the newest members. There was this one touching photo featuring him holding a framed graphic of himself in his Yankees pinstripes right alongside an image from his college days. The caption really said it all. Always find your way back home. It is a reminder of where he came from. Rodon spent three years at NC State appearing in 50 games. He logged an incredible earned run average of 2.24 while collecting 436 strikeouts over 345 and 2/3 innings. That dominance is exactly why he was selected third overall in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Chicago White Socks. Now, why does this matter for us looking ahead to the 2026 season? Because Rodon is entering the fourth year of his six-year $162 million contract, he is preparing for his fourth season with us. Despite the frustrating postseason where he tossed just eight and 1/3 innings across two starts and allowed nine earned runs, his regular season was actually his best year yet in the Bronx. He earned an all-star selection and finished sixth in the American League Sai Young voting. He posted a solid 3.09 09 earned run average with an 18-9 record over 33 starts collecting 203 strikeouts. He formed a genuinely strong duo with Max Freed who as we know took over as the Yankees ace this year. So while he is still searching for his first World Series title and we know the Yankees haven’t won since 2009, this trip back to NC State might be the mental reset he needs. He has established himself as one of baseball’s best arms, and he is aiming to build on that regular season success to finally help deliver the Yankees their first World Series title in nearly two decades. That was a nice moment for Rodon, but now we have to turn our attention to the lineup and a massive free agency decision that could define our future. Update two, the $168 million prediction. Why resigning Cody Bellinger is the only option. Now, let’s move on to the biggest story of the off season, the hole in the middle of our lineup. We all remember the absolute roller coaster we went through last year. We lost Juan Sodto in free agency, which was a massive blow. But the front office pivoted to a huge backup plan, executing a trade for Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger. And let’s be fair, Bellinger was a star for the Yankees this season. He came in, he performed, and he looked like he belonged in pinstripes. But as we discussed, the team fell short of the ultimate goal in the postseason, getting bounced by the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Division Series. To make matters even more stressful for us fans, Cody Bellinger has officially opted out of his contract and entered free agency. So, right now, technically, he is on the open market. However, there is some very promising news coming out of the rumor mill today. Bleacher reports Christopher Knox has recently predicted that the Yankees will retain Bellinger on a big contract this off season. This is not just a minor signing. We are talking about a deal that could potentially reach the $168 million range. According to the reports, resigning Bellinger should be the Yankees absolute top priority this winter. The analysis suggests that the front office should prioritize bringing Bellinger back over signing anybody else. And that includes huge names like Kyle Tucker. Why is this the case? It comes down to value. Bellinger’s bat and glove combined to make him one of the more valuable players in the entire American League. We saw it with our own eyes. His defense at first base and in the outfield saved us multiple times and his left-handed swing is tailorade for Yankee Stadium. The consensus is that the Yankees simply cannot afford to lose him, especially if they fail to land a contract with someone like Tucker. Knox wrote that while the negotiations might get heavy, the Yankees are looking to bring him back. It might cost a lot of money, potentially approaching that $168 million mark. But for the Bronx Bombers, it would be well worth it. We need stability. We need that star power. And after losing Sodto last year, letting Bellinger walk is not an option if we want to compete for a title in 2026. But, and there is a big butt coming up. While this prediction sounds great, there is a darker cloud hanging over these negotiations. There is a reality check coming from other insiders that suggests this deal is going to be much, much harder and more expensive than anyone thinks. The prediction is that we keep him, but the reality of how we keep him might be a nightmare. You are not going to believe the numbers being thrown around by some other experts. Update three, the $450 million nightmare. Why the Yankee brand might not be enough. If the last update gave you hope, this one might keep you up at night. We just talked about how the Yankees should sign Cody Bellinger and how predictions say they will. But there is a massive $450 million reality check that has just surfaced regarding this pursuit. For weeks, the New York Yankees have been said to be in possession of the inside track to resigning outfielder and first baseman Cody Bellinger. The logic was simple. He played here. He succeeded here. He knows the pressure. But as one tri-state area based writer recently relayed, there is simply no such thing as an inside track when you are dealing with the most powerful agent in sports. Bob Clappish of NJ Advance Media dropped a truth bomb that every Yankee fan needs to hear. He reminded the Yankees front office that super agent Scott Boris does not make for simple home team discount deals in the modern age. Clappish believes general manager Brian Kman needs to drop any preconceived notion that the New York Yankees are in any sort of driver’s seat. And here is the part that really hurts to hear. The saddest thing Clappish noted was undoubtedly this phrase, “The brand isn’t what it used to be.” That is a painful realization. That much has been evident as the Los Angeles Dodgers have absolutely lapped the Yankees in spending and winning over the last decade. While we are looking at our history, other teams are looking at the future. Clappish prefaced his warning by saying, “There are no sentimental favorites for anyone represented by the toughest, most pitiles agent in baseball. That means no hometown discount, no points for clubhouse friendships or special consideration for a warm relationship with the fans. We have to remember, no one knows this better than the Yankees. Ownership is preparing for a long drawn out chess match with Barass, who is known as the industry’s master of three-dimensional negotiating. So, if the question is whether the Yankees think they can bring Bellinger back in 2026, the short answer is it is complicated. The long answer, it is very complicated. Gone are the days when the Yankees could get away with simply marketing the pinstripes. It worked recently with aces Garrett Cole and Max Fried, who we are so lucky to have. But the brand power alone is fading. The bottom line is this. As good a fit as Bellinger knows he is with the Yankees, Scott Boris does not operate on fit. He operates on commas. He only cares about the number of commas that can fit on his financial statements. Boris doesn’t work for any franchise or its fan base. That works against what front offices have in their future plans more often than not. So, while we are dreaming of a reunion, we need to be prepared for a financial war that could cost an astronomical amount. So, Yankees Universe, that is the situation we are facing. On one hand, we have the heartwarming story of Carlos Rodon finding his roots and mentally preparing to lead our rotation alongside Max Fried in 2026. On the other hand, we have a potential bidding war for Cody Bellinger where the Yankee Mystique might not be enough to save us money. Now, I want to hear from you. Do you think the Yankees should pay whatever Scott Boris asks to keep Bellinger, or is the price getting too high? And does it hurt you to hear that the Yankee brand isn’t what it used to be?
