Maxi Kleber did well tonight with Ayton out. He deserves to get minutes now after this game

Him or Hayes would be a interesting debate if Maxi continues to play like tonight (and be healthy)
No toy needed no childish trinket required the only souvenir I need now is the knowledge that Maxi Kleber would be proud of me Maybe he will not but that is not the point because the path to greatness starts with a supersized meal and a delusion strong enough to fuel a small country
So here I stand ready to give up the toy ready to embrace the Maxi Best Of and ready to pledge eternal loyalty to Maxi Kleber a man so impactful he made me change my entire McDo philosophy without even knowing I exist
Defense was on point
No surprise this is what he’s always been
Solid switchy defender w good foot speed
Was very clutch this game.
I want to see a larger sample size before declaring that he deserves minutes over Hayes in the backup C role.
And to think he was thrown in as a negative asset in the Luka trade.
+1 with 2 points and a turnover, casuals think this is cooking
Good size & perimeter defense
He definitely needs more minutes. Will likely be matchup based.
One of the best small ball 5s out there. Just needs to hold his foul meter a bit.
ayton with maxi at PF and you have yourself a quality wall
yes he was good! Only negative was him not looking to shoot when open.
Give him another 2 hours of in game time and I really do hope at least 70-80% of the Kleber of the Mavs. He was great at switching on all 3-5s, and some 2s as well.
His understanding of team defense and situational awareness on both ends, is a big plus. He also doesn’t need a lot to get going.
He’s on a contract year so he will continue to ball out. And with Aytan possibly out he should see some more minutes.
Came in and played hard as needed.
Ayton is out for a bit. He indeed will get some mins
Maxi is probably the Lakers best center when it comes to switching. He has enough foot speed to keep smaller players in front of him or atleast enough to corral them to another defender and he’s also big enough to bother shooters.
Not athletic enough to be a true rim protector but strong enough to keep wing players out of the post or give bigs some difficulty
I feel like he will be a great piece in the playoffs when we need him to stretch the floor and guard jokic for like 5 mins a game.
When healthy he was always a very positive player for the Mavs. Arguably best defender on the team. Plus he can shoot the 3. Perfect player for Luka to play with.
Health was always the only issue with him.
Say what now?
I thought true Laker fans hated Maxi and that he’ s a waste of a roster spot. lol
