The Chiefs just beat the Colts in an overtime thriller!

So, the Chiefs just won an overtime slugfest against the Colts in what I considered to be the most important regular season game of the Mahomes era. It started out rough, too, as Leatu Latu caught his own batted up pass on an RPO, picking off Mahomes and helping set up an easy indie touchdown. A Travis Kelce rushing touchdown out of Wildcat was then negated by a Jawan Taylor penalty, and Casey settled for three, a theme of the day as the team finished only one for six in the red zone. Things got ugly very quick when the Colts went two for two themselves inside the 20 to make this game 14-3. Casey battled back, kicking in two more field goals. But I thought the last series before halftime was going to come back to bite them. They had first and goal at the six with 24 seconds left and had to settle for their third kick of the half to make it 9 to4. Two more field goals by the Colts in the third quarter had this game 20 to9. And honestly, I thought the game might be over when Kareem Hunt fumbled in the red zone at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The first fumble lost by KC this entire season. But Spags in that defense turned all the way up, forcing four straight three and outs, including overtime, completely shutting down the number one offense in the NFL as Casey’s offense clawed their way back. Hunt punched in a Tutty and Rashi Rice snagged two catches for 66 yards to get them back into the red zone. And a 25-yd chip shot by Bucker sent thanks to overtime. That defense clamped Indie again, three and out and big plays from Worthy Rice as well as several tough runs by Kareem Hunt set up the game-winning field goal for Bucker to sneak past the Colts 23 to 20. That defense held Jonathan Taylor to under 60 yards and only allowed six total points in the second half and overtime. Then Kareem Hunt had 30 carries. Rice went nuclear, racking up 141 yards on eight catches. And despite losing the turnover battle two to zero and scoring just one touchdown in the red zone, they found a way to move to six and five, but paid the price. Trey Smith injured his ankle. Noah Gray left the game after banging his head. Chris Roland Wallace hurt his lower back. And Rashi Rice tweaked his hamstring in some capacity. So, they are banged up, but need to nurse their wounds quickly because they take on the Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving and need another

    to be getting 30 carry’s this is why we needed to trade for breece. Now we’re super banged up o line was already shotty i would put moore at RT and bench taylor and Dallas is going to cook us on the perimeter

Mahomes honestly has not been playing well when it matters in the big moments for two seasons now…and during the same time red zone conversions are probably in the bottom half of the league … doesnt matter this season is gone even if we make the playoffs…need change in coaching and personnel this oof season…get a decent RB !!!!

  15. This very tight game really could’ve been the difference in their season. How they play on Thursday against the Cowboys will tell a lot, On whether they now have the momentum and the belief. If they do go onto a winning season and the playoffs, we may look back at this game as a very pivotal moment in the season.

  23. it was great sportsmanship from both sides and was a really tough game. kc gave all they could give to get the win. our defense is doing 1000% for us. mahomes, like troy was saying needs to have confidence in the WRs and throw outside the numbers, slow his procession thru options a little. his eyes are moving faster than his teammates.
