Really happy to see him getting an opportunity and producing. The start to his career was delayed due to illness completely out of his control. By all accounts a good guy who has just never had real opportunity in the NFL. Hope things work out for him. Not just for the Jets but his career in general.
I’ve had Metchie on a dynasty fantasy team since his rookie year and my friends gave me a hard time for stashing him on the roster as long as I did. He’s actually been in my starting lineup the past few weeks and got me some good points

A good slot receiver like Metchie would be an absolute boon to a rookie QB. I really feel like the Jets are finally getting the offensive pieces together before they throw a young QB into the mix
It was a pleasure watching receivers run routes, separate, and have an actual chance at being rewarded with an accurate pass. YAC with Metchie looks promising!

Seems like one of those guys who will eventually end up on the Chiefs, get used correctly & will get a ton of yards.
I hope we keep him for a few years & turn him into a solid player; he’s already shown flashes & he’s playing with some pretty meh QBs at the moment.
You could say this about many WRs but with our solid O-Line, solid run game & even just a healthy Chad Pennington type QB you feel like this guy could be crushing it. Not saying he’s Santonio Holmes or anything, but I really like what I’ve seen so far considering he’s had the playbook for < 3 weeks & our QB play is mixed/terrible.
YAC after a shallow cross? I’m convinced let’s give him a huge contract.
I haven’t bought a real jersey in years(DHgate )but if we sign him long term i might get his.
He’s probably an overqualified WR4, but I’m not sure he’s good enough to be a steady WR3
Either way, I like him and hope he’s back on the team next year
It looks like we have a very good WR3 in John Metchie.
Metchie was a solid WR for bama to get the the field and get the touches he got in a loaded bama WR room says a lot. I watch every snap of bama football and I wanted my beloved jets to draft him back then. He will be a perfect and high end number 3 in this system we need to keep him. When you have a guy like GW as your number 1 your number 2 and 3 WR don’t have to be stars they have to be good football players period and that is what metchie and I think AD are so I think this is a big win for our new GM!! Just finally hit in a QB and sign Breece and let’s finally fix this franchises once and for all
