Desharnais Says Celebrini Special, Not an “A@@Hole” | Sharks vs. Mammoth Post-Game (11.18.25)

You were here last year in fresh with your game. How much different is just the team this year from your eyes? Just how fresh new is coming? Winning is fun. Winning is fun for sure. Uh there’s just uh you know good teams will find find different ways uh to win and we we found a way to win. It wasn’t pretty. I don’t think that’s how we planned it or that’s how we wanted to end the game, but there’s 82 games. It’s hard to win all of them uh 4-1, two two nothing and not not give up anything, but uh it’s fun. It’s definitely more fun to to win uh get more confidence. Um so yeah, it’s uh it’s definitely more fun this year than uh than last year. You’re one of the top defenseman, you know, on the PK. I think he every penalty kills throws you and Mario over the boards right away. what’s working so well and how big was it tonight? Um, it was big at at different times where uh they could have kind of got momentum there. Uh, but I think we’re uh we’re staying calm. We’re commun communicating well and we’re we’re playing connected. You know, Mar and I, the two forwards, we’re playing as a unit of of four and we’re trying to help each other a lot. Um, and we’re just on our toes playing hard. That’s there’s no secret to to PK. You just got to be on your toes, play hard, and uh you got to eat pucks at uh at at different times. And uh I think that the goalending has been unbelievable uh as well on the the PK. Mlin doesn’t like to talk about himself, but you’ve played with City Crosby, you’ve played with Conor McDavid. What are we watching? He’s special. He’s special. I mean, I think everyone everyone in here, everyone in this in this building kind of sees how special he is as a player, as a human being as well. you know, he’s just not an around and walking around and saying that he’s the best player and uh you know, he always wants to get better every day and I’m sure, you know, next skate he’s going to be one of the first guys on the ice to work on something else. Um so it’s it’s impressive to see and you know, it kind of inspires everyone. Everyone wants to follow him and uh small little details that he go that he does in the Dzone and faceoffs and uh it’s it’s awesome to see that it’s not just offense, but it’s it’s both sides of the of the puck as well. And how big has u you know ascarov been there in the net tonight. How big he was awesome. I mean I don’t know how the last how many games that he’s he’s played and he’s been awesome probably five six seven I don’t know but uh it’s gives us confidence too. Uh which is awesome. You know we’re we were up by two and um you know there’s a beway there’s a breakdown and you know everyone on the bench is confident because you know we know he’s there and uh he’s been he’s been playing awesome for us. What makes I mean you go against every day in practice. What makes his shot so elite? I mean, I’m still trying to figure figure that out for my shot. I’m still trying to figure that out for my shot. Um, I think it’s just working on it. He’s been like, he practices so much, uh, his shots and his skill set, uh, his hands and different types of releases and in different areas and the like tonight his third goal was from the blue line. you know, it’s it’s got he’s scoring different areas of the of the the ozone, which is impressive. And I think it just practice, his work ethic has been unbelievable. And like I said, it just kind of it it inspire us. And I think everyone in this locker room wants to follow his way for sure. How good was it to get back on the winning track after the last two games? Oh, it was good. It was good. Like I said, was it the way that we wanted to end that game? Probably not. But a win is a win. two points in this league is is really hard uh to get and we’ll take it and we’ll just try to build on uh on on on that game for Thursday’s game. How do you guys manage the fact that Mlin is out here and leading by example and all that, but it’s also 19 years old. I mean, when you play like that and you you just you’re that you’re that guy, it doesn’t matter whether you’re 30, 18, he’s he’s got that maturity. I mean, just from last year to this year, we see a big difference. Uh whether it’s on the ice, off the ice, uh he’s still a clown. He still loves to have fun and it’s awesome to see cuz everyone wants to, you know, talk to him and joke around. But when it’s time to to go to work, he’s uh he leads by uh by example. And like I said, whether you’re 19 or or 30, if you if you play like that and you have that that work ethic and that maturity, it doesn’t really matter. Is it nice to see the the win the player of the game trophy internal here get get here? What you think of it? Well, it’s nice to finally have sunset. No, no more tissue boxes and expo sprays and one Mr. Clean and whatnot. Uh, but no, it’s nice. I don’t know who who made it, but it’s it’s pretty cool. Revo said he made it for everybody. Reeves did. Revo made it. Well, he ordered it. Okay. I was going to I was going to ask for some proofs here. Not that I I I doubt Reevil’s art skills, but he’s uh it’ll say that high school was a long a long time ago for him, so I’m not sure he’s got the his art skills still there. But no, it’s it’s really cool. Sharks, obviously, there’s uh it’s really nice to have that that little player of the game uh thing. All good. Thanks, man.

  1. I like Desharnais. He's been solid, cares, and seems like he wants to be here and wants to be a trusted player. Seems like a good personality and a willingness to help the young guys too. Hope he sticks around.
