Jase Richardson needs to be more involved

  1. While true, he was *horrible* defensively lol, which is why he hasn’t been playing.

I’m all for Jase getting the minutes, for sure. We’re not getting *anything* from the guy he’d be replacing. But we do need to acknowledge the part of his game that does keep his role limited even after he takes Jones’s minutes.

  2. We don’t actually need either one in the rotation. Suggs is our starter and AB is his backup, for the most part. I get the desire for more playmaking and having a true PG out there on the floor at time, but both Tyus and Jase are cones on defense, so there’s going to be some give and take either way.

  3. His 1v1 defense isn’t bad. His long arms help. It’s his team defense that needs help. He seems lost.

  4. His defense has a long way to go, and I still don’t think Jase has an nba-level move set, but purely as a guy who can hit some jumpers I think he should be considered as an option when the team needs that skill, and I’ve seen him come in during those stints.

At this stage, I’d say he’s properly utilized. He’s a lot of fun to watch when he has it going, though

  5. I think he should be like 10th or 11th on the depth chart ahead of Tyus, but Jett should be ahead of Jase. Jett is the only one of the 3 who can sort of defend. He’s should be the 4th guard after Jalen, Des, and AB. So AB, Jett, TDS, and Goga off the bench. Then have one of the rookies as the 10th, Jase if a guard is needed, penda if a forward is needed
