“They’re Doing It All” – Rich Eisen: What the 1st-Place 8-3 Chicago Bears are Getting So Very Right

Got to be honest with you. I said for the Bears, you need I need to see them dominate. I need to see them start to finish. I need to see them not pulling one out of their orifice to try and come back to win against a quality opponent. Man, I really wanted to see Aaron Rogers in Soldierfield. I bet you Bears fans wanted to see him, too, because they’ve been playing really well. And Ben Johnson is cooking up a team that is believing. And Ben Johnson has a quarterback. Caleb, that ball just flies out of his hands. And he is throwing it. He is slinging it. He is feeling more and more confident each passing week. Rolling them out, making throws. He’s making smart decisions, not turning it over even though he lost a fumble. But the touchdowns are coming in bunches and the comeback wins are coming in bunches. And they had to stay the the fumble he lost was TJ Watt surpassing his brother for more career sacks with his brother in the booth for a touchdown for Pittsburgh, which as you know has been a recipe for their wins lately is they’re taking it away. So they overcame a lot and they also held firm. They actually had a lead in the fourth quarter as opposed to the other way around. Their defense held on to a lead. Yep. So, it’s a different way to win. And yeah, Mason Rudolph is a backup quarterback, but more than serviceable. I’m sure they wanted to beat Rogers to basically say, “We are better than you and you own this place. No more.” Maybe that’s for down the road if Rogers is fortunate enough to keep playing and the Bears are fortunate enough to see him and they play each other again. But they’ve feel they got to be feeling good about themselves. What a big time win for the Bears again. And Caleb had this to say afterwards. You don’t apologize for for for any wins um in this league. And um you know, I think that’s I mean that’s a historic organization over there. Um and and and they got a bunch of great athletes, bunch of great coaches and things like that. So like I said, you don’t you don’t apologize. Uh but you do understand where you can be as a team. um what we could have done out there. Um and that’s the frustrating part. Um and you know it starts with me and you know it funnels down everybody else. Wow. He’s now in the in the business of saying it’s not pretty but we’re not going to apologize. So he beats Tomlin and then she and then Robs is we’re not going to apologize for winning. Oh wow. I’ll take your win and your line. When’s he going to start talking about hot dogs? I can’t give you all the ingredients to the hot dog you might not like. Five games now the Bears have won this year when they’ve been trailing in the final two minutes of regulation. But this time, as I said, they didn’t have to. But this is the way you win, man. As again, the Chiefs come up with the W this past week. They were the kings of the one-score game victories last year. 12-0 in those games. They hadn’t won a single such games until this past week. It was their first of 20 25. The Bears are now six and one in one score games and they’ve won those six times all in a row in such an instance. The last time the Bears had such a lo winning streak in one score games they won the NFC title was when sexy Rexy took him to the Super Bowl. Now the other thing too, the Bears, right, doing it with like four of their top linebackers didn’t play. That’s right. It’s almost like they were holding like tryyous for anyone who could come play. And then they had Demarco Jackson and I hope I’m saying this right watching the game yesterday. Amen. Oonga. Oh, good God. Obang. Amen. You got to get you also have to give it up to our our friend of the program, Ryan Polls. Not just because he once saw somebody who thought I was Ryan Gosling. Um, remember when he traded for Montes Sweat in the middle of the season that they were not winning and you’re like, what the what are they doing? Six and a half sacks over his last six games, most sacks in any six game span in his career. Is he coming in handy now? Yeah, he sure is. So, they’re doing it all. Caleb’s third game with three or more passing touchdowns and interception this year, tying two quarterbacks in the history of the Chicago Bears for most such games in a single season. Their names are Dave Craig and Eric Kramer. It’s been a minute in Chicago and they’re going in Philly leading the division. And they’re also doing it with a kid at running back. Again, if you want a running back in the draft, just wait to the seventh round. Take someone from Ruters, right? We saw the Chiefs do it with Isaiah Pacheco all these years, even though he’s out right now. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. 1. Bear down. 8-3, this Black Friday game is huge. Philly is at home and angry. Reminds me of when Drake Maye played at Buffalo, this game can put the NFL on notice.

  2. We got the Eagles Friday so we get to see what the Bears are made of. They get to play a real with a top 10 defense, their starting QB and a loaded roster, so if they can just hang in the game it shows how far they have come. If they get smoked like they did against Detroit then they are just a team that is good at beating up teams with losing records and backup QBs. Hoping we hang in or win.

  3. Da bears I haven't been this excited about da bears since 80s when always had a good team hopefully we get more championships then they did back then

  4. The offense is OK. The defense is their big problem now. The Bears rank 27th in points allowed. If you can't point out how easy their schedule has been (because "you have to play whoever is on your schedule") then you also can't point to their injuries on defense as an excuse. Your team is the team that takes the field. They can't rely on turnovers alone. This defense has been a sieve all season. They need to buckle down and keep people from scoring or it's going to be a shorter season than a lot of Bears fans now assume it will be.

  5. The sack was bad but also doesn’t bother me. Caleb turns the ball over so little, like compared to anyone, it almost never happens. He has also prevented a ton of sacks this year. So yeah one of the best to ever lace them up got one sack on him. It’s TJ Watt, it happens. Didn’t get sacked again. Didn’t turn the ball over again, threw for 3 TD’s. I’m good. All I’m seeing a young QB, and an offense during a new install working out the kinks. Remember all the penalties? Not so much. Remember the line couldn’t block anyone? Gotten a lot better. Remember no run game? Now the second best rushing team in the nfl. It’s coming, they gonna have their breakout game sooner or later.

  6. Imagine if Caleb Williams had been drafted to a playoff team with 2 hof weapons and a hof genius head coach like Mahomes. Him and Allen have had to build their franchises from the ground up and figure it out by themselves.

  7. lol Why do the Bears have to Dominate a whole game for the media to take them seriously. The fact of matter is the Bears spotted the Steelers 14 points and still walked them down.

  8. As a lifelong Bears fan who remembers watching the Super Bowl Shuffle premiere on TV as a kid at my school library as if it were yesterday, I wanted Rodgers to play SO BAD!! I literally almost cried when he didn't.. I absolutely love Caleb and Ben Johnson's nickname Dexter is perfect! Over this summer, I had a literal near death experience while driving on a lone Nebraska highway and part of me has been convinced that I actually died on that day and this is the afterlife since life has been so weird when I came back home, this just reinforces my fears, this can't be the real world! 😊

  9. “I still need to see them win easily against a quality team!” SERIOUSLY?!

You really don’t fully believe yet Rich? 8-3 tied for the second best record in the NFC only trailing the Rams! And had all 3 LB’s out and top 2 DB’s and still beat Steelers, with or without Rodgers is irrelevant! 5 of bears starting 11 on defense were hurt! None were lineman lol LB’s and DB’s
